Next two games basically decided the season, I hope White has a big game, I'm excited to see him play. Also I don't think we should trade AK, has streaky as he seems, he's the most consistent player points-wise every year, and we're not going to get much for him. Hopefully he has a big game too after Randy benched him.

Yeah, I'm not that big of fan of Boychuck at $3.36 million/year, though I suppose there's a "Stanley Cup premium" in there. That'd certainly be a factor in the off-season and push his value beyond the $3.36 mil/yr mark. But, I just don't want to come close to any "cap hell" scenario that the B's approached in 2010. And, I'd put Boychuck below Ference and McQuaid on the defensemen rankings and just barely ahead of Corvo. Spending a few extra $100k here and there for each player adds up and can restrict a team from adding that last key piece or two for a Cup run.

Though if Corvo is gone after this season, I suppose Chia didn't want too much uncertainty by having two defensemen slots to fill than just one. With Chara's contract, it's not like the B's can afford some top UFA D anyway.
 
Apparently, Habs and Flyers are the front-runners for Nash.

Dunno how I feel about that, but I've got a feeling PK Subban (and a lot more) is gone if Nash comes here. :S
 
The only way they get Nash is if they give up Subban, which I really hope they don't do, if we were going to give up Subban for a star player I would want it to be a big center.

I haven't heard Habs name mentioned anywhere. Can't imagine Habs would even be on his list of teams. Flyers aren't going to be front runners for any forward when their defense is without Pronger. List of teams i've heard from TSN, ESPN, ect are NYR, Flyers, Van, LA, Boston, Toronto.

The list I've seen includes all those teams, plus SJ, Toronto and Montreal. Him being completely retarded, I have absolutely no doubt Pierre Gauthier is in the ranks.

Oh, and the Rangers are supposedly not interested anymore, because the asking price was Dub, Staal and a prospect.

So if Montreal's in it, I'd say it's Subban, Eller/Leblanc and our top 5 2012 pick.
 
Why the fuck will Philly want Nash, don't they have enough forwards?

Shouldn't they be looking at their holes on D and goalie? They already have 6.5M tied up on Briere long term, Pronger tied up long term and that horrible contract on Bryzgalov until 2030. Do they really need another 7.8M tied up until 2019?

And If MTL is in it, Columbus would be looking at Subban or Price as starting point.

I think the best possible options are LA or Toronto, both have cap space and some assets to give up while being Nash's prefered destinations.

Where are you hearing this?
I've heard asking prices from the Rangers being everything from the original Garriorch Rumor of Dubi, Krieder and a 1st, to that plus other stuff.

LeBrun in his chat today said that the Rangers really covet Nash, but are worried about the price. I don't think they are "out" of anything.

Montreal won't be getting him though. Not saying Rangers will but I think it's safe to say he's not waiving his NTC to play in that circus.

Other rumors come from twitter, mainly Incarcerated Bob, whose been pretty great this year (way better than stupid Eklund, but you won't hear about him as much).

The list is kinda retarded, since it's being analyzed as a "teams that would be interested" and a "teams Nash would be interested in" subsequently, but hey, it's better than nothing. Or TSN.
 
To be honest, I don't believe in rumours, but to even hear Montreal mentioned is kinda weird. I mean, Nash is not what we need (we've got two great power forwards now, and we need a fucking center), and giving Subban would be retarded.
 
Montreal is supposedly in on every free agent, everyone uses it to get hits, and Montreal & Gauthier are notoriously the most secretive organization in the league, so even if PG wanted Nash which I really hope he doesn't it wouldn't be getting out this early.
 
Eklund was actually more reliable than Incarcerated Bob on the first day of free agency last year.

But seriously speaking ever since Burke came in with the Leafs I don't really believe any rumours that come out in regards to the Leafs. If you want to talk about secretive, my organization right here.

Really hope the Flyers aren't seriously persuing Nash. Trading should focus on buffing the non-forward aspects of the team.

I think linking to Eklund's blog should be a bannable offense (not really). I'm actually ashamed that I gave him one hit, but after seeing all the tweets laying into his yesterday I was curious how he would respond.
 
Leafs vs Oilers tonight, hoping for a good game. I also hope that Wilson decides this hockey thing isn't for him and retires to a remote monastery to find God.

Does he have any credibility or any inside sources? Or does he purely manufacture these rumors by himself?

He broke Richards before everyone else... he usually gets the deal right at some point, but it's usually towards the end and after many many wrong and ridiculous rumors. His defense of himself up now actually seems pretty fair if you ask me.

It's not as bad as you make it sound.

On free agency day last year he was breaking several signings before anyone else, so he does have sources throughout the league. Unfortunately, he fills the rest of his rumors with such BS that it's hard to tell what is real and what isn't.

"Hey, by the way, I hear a Canadian team on the East Coast is about to make a major move...more later!" Every time.

Randy tends to stick lazy players in one line as to not make them play often. Hence our 4th line of Gomez and AK.
