Oh my God. I had erased that quote from my memory. Remember he said we don't need a center because Tim Connolly and Derek Roy are both top 20 centers?

He was put in the minors because he stopped producing here. Sounds find without context. He was dropped to our fourth line for the last two months because Jochen Hecht got healthy. Shocking he couldn't create with Cody McCormick and Patrick Kaleta by his side.

I just can't comprehend how he still has a job here. I simply can't.

He put ketchup on it.
Or was it catsup?

Kane for Miller? I got that trade proposal in my fantasy league.

For the record I had Miller and said no.

If the Hawks make that trade they'll have a $2.66M backup in Crawford. That's pretty pricey.

Apparently, another plan for a new arena in the Seattle area is going to be presented in an hour. Also, there are reports the NHL is watching the situation "closely" and a potential owner for a Seattle team has come forward.

Kinda sucks for those in Quebec City...

I mostly love him as a coach... but where has this attitude been this season?

I like how Pominville looks scared of him and Vanek just looks embarrassed.

I like Ruff. If we are ever going to win a Cup, it will be so much sweeter winning it with him behind the bench. But he's made a lot of questionable (and just plain bad) moves this year, and I agree - that passion has been noticeably absent.

Canada has a ton of hockey already, and another team will likely move up there after the 'yotes are in Seattle *cough cough* Florida

It would be sweeter, I agree. But we've all noticed his nonchalance this year. It's infuriating.

Quebec is still way ahead of Seattle.

Quebec is still way ahead of Seattle.

That's what I thought too before, but after the last few months of hearing reports on NHL officials being "interested in a Seattle team" and not much on a Quebecor deal, I think an official stadium plan in Seattle and people publicly stating that'd they buy the Coyotes for a Seattle relocation changes the attitude. The NHL would obviously prefer a team in a American metro, particularly one the size of Seattle, over a much smaller Canadian metro.

I think the NHL is building that "interest in Seattle" thing to squeeze more money out of Quebecor for the Coyotes. The NHL also said they were interested in keeping a team in Atlanta while the sale of the Thrashers to TNSE went on behind closed doors. I know the NHL would rather have a big American market instead of Quebec, but like Winnipeg, the NHL won't have a choice.

Quebec has a suitable temporary arena and an approved plan for a new arena. Seattle has doesn't have either of those things.

I honestly feel like Seattle would be a good market and will have a team eventually, but right now Quebec is much farther ahead in terms of ability to have a team.

Live press conference going on right now here in Seattle about the new arena. Looks like the proposal is gonna go through to start building and funding it. They're making it clear they want the NBA AND NHL to be apart of it. Gimme dem Coyotoes!

They don't even have a finalized proposal yet. It's good news for Seattle but there's still a lot of work. Plus that Hansen guy has said he isn't putting money in towards an arena until he buys an NBA team first.

Yeah, I should clarify. Nothing is being built until a team is secured. The city of Seattle isn't going to spend any money until Chris Hansen puts his money down which he will only do if he gets the NBA team. I hope that all happens within the next 6 months or so, just to urge the NHL to look at moving the Coyotes to Seattle for the 2 years it'll take to build the new arena. The new "Sonics" and NHL team would play at the Key Arena until it's built.

Quebec has a NHL-ready arena (a renovated La Colisee), an owner ready to support a franchise through thick and thin, public money already allocated to build a new arena, and 2 television networks ready to devote thousands of hours of programming to another French hockey team.

Seattle has a guy who has nothing but a plot of land and a dream of owning a NBA team.

Bettman is blowing massive amounts of smoked out of his ass.

Thing is, a team in Quebec won't increase TV revenue for the NHL, because everyone in Quebec watches hockey regardless of whether there is a team there or not. It's not about hockey and fans, it's about money...

And most of the money coming into the NHL is from ticket revenue.

Really? I'm honestly asking, so far I've always been under the impression most revenue for the NHL came from TV-deals, but is it really ticket sales? Then that would make me retract my statement. Does anyone have good info on this?

If Quebec doesn't get the Coyotes, they are probably not getting a team.

Islanders will move to Brooklyn if they don't get there LI arena.

Any other teams wanting to move?
