NHL February |OT| FIRE ALL THE THINGS

I just hope they don't face the Rangers and get swept 12-0 on the season.

Yeah, Rangers have shown some cracks in recent games it looks like, but I am still absolutely sure that the Flyers have no chance of beating them even one time this year, so a playoff matchup would just be embarrassing. When the two play, New York's superiority is overwhelmingly palpable--Philly has no shot against that team/system/goalie.

He only scores 2 goals when we are going to lose anyways. *cough Montreal and Colorado

However, his lows are very low, yeah he can have his streaks and score, but it is his overall play which brings him down and makes me hate him at times. Scoring goals doesn't mean anything if you only show up every now often and the rest of the play away from the puck sucks. Speaking of which Franzen needs to be benched right now for his awful play lately and Z has sunk back into sucking as well and he was starting to pick it up too.

We'll agree to disagree here. He has been one of the more energetic guys on the ice this year (pales in comparison to the 3rd line, but so does everyone else). He has gotten stronger and isn't thrown out of the way every time he touches the puck any more. He's finding the back of the net. I'm not sure what else should be expected of him.

I do agree with you that Franzen sucks, however. That contract is AWFUL. What an albatross that is.

How expendable is Macarthur? Grabo+Mac for Lindback, Blum, pick? Farfetched?

No idea. I guess it depends on the direction management will take. If Burke still thinks the Leafs can make the playoffs, I doubt he trades both of them, but if he decides to sell at the deadline and retool in the summer, a deal similar to that is probably realistic. Not sure if the Leafs really need another D though.

Hopefully that gave us the momentum and we'll come out roaring in the third.

Also, if TB could actually beat the Devils that'd be great, thanks. And if you could do it without Stamkos getting anymore points that'd be nice.

Oooh nvm, should be a blowout.

We won the last 2 games in 09/10 as well, 6 in a row. ;)

Agree, though he is having a better season than last year, still not where we hoped he would be. Also that 3rd lines is great with all of the energy they bring, too bad the rest of the team isn't seeing that and thinking, "Hey, maybe we should step up and play hard too". 4th line is just awful right now, we need something done there as Emmerton, Homer, and Mursak are not working at all. Also while Franzen's contract is long, the cap hit is fine for the points he produces, however he needs a jump start now, I think benching him and having a guy like tatar or Nyquist come up and play in his spot will get him moving again, possibly.
