NHL Lockout With Your Cock Out |OT|

So, a goal?
You can't make fun of a guy when he doesn´t even understand your jokes :P

Crazy goals, bad officiating taking away goals, great chances, awesome tackles, great assists but most of all the game surprised you all the way to the end. I couldn´t sit still
EDIT: You caught the game Soc?

They both look-alike to me:P
I'll spend my entire life trying to repair Daniel's good name. Fuck Henrik and his diving.

Nope. From what I've heard might have to try and find a torr-... VHS recording off a friend...

And don't bother trying to persuade these guys. American media culture is heavily steered toward downing soccer. They're brainwashed at a young age. ;)

Don't think I've ever seen Pacioretty dive, unless you think he was diving in the Chara incident.

Yeah, how anyone can like hockey and hate soccer and vice versa just blows my mind. Must be the media.

If I gave a fuck what American media thought of sports, I wouldn't be a hockey fan.

I don´t know why I wrote him, meant to be Lapierre and the remark about mixing them up was just from an old Carcillo interview mixing up Lapierre with Lapierriere

Simpsons jokes perfectly reflect the general American attitudes, imo.

Hockey - Kent Brockman: "Tonight a city weeps, as, for the first time ever, a hockey arena becomes the scene of violence."

Soccer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnJNcRCGnGg#t=70s

The derision toward soccer is a lot more widespread. Hockey gets less respect, but is mostly downed for being violent or 'Canadian', not boring.

There may be NHL hockey this fall after all…at least in Quebec. Sources confirm several high profile French Canadian NHL players and agents are considering forming two teams to play games while NHL players and owners battle it out at the bargaining table.

Some of these players includes stars Daniel Briere, Claude Giroux, Patrice Bergeron, David Perron, and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.

The initial idea is to have two teams, one representing Montreal and the other representing Quebec City, to travel throughout Quebec playing at least one game per week. There's talk of all the proceeds going to charity.

The idea of adding other Canadian markets such as Ottawa and Toronto has also been tossed around.

Cool I guess.

They should have a couple of games in Quebec city and see how much attention it gets, somewhat a testing ground if a real team could work there.

I found an appropriate Simpsons rebuttal as well!

@FAN590 Reports are circulating that Maple Leafs Goaltending Coach, Francois Allaire will not return with the team. #Leafs

I actually enjoy watching really good soccer. I can't watch MLS, but if I try to watch the big champions league games and I always watch the world cup and euros. I played soccer (goalie) til I got to highschool though. I wasn't ever particularly good, but I really enjoyed it. It's pretty easily my second favorite sport to watch. I like football too, but that's just more of a sunday ritual than anything. I don't care about any of the teams.

Basketball is offensively boring. It has no redeeming qualities.

It used to back when there were great players, great rivalries, great dynasties, and the top players were actually likable. But the 80's and 90's are long gone, so yeah.

Bahahaha.. :/

So much hate..

Truth. I don't hate soccer at all. I grew up playing soccer and still play soccer intramurals with the students at the high school where I teach.

I just find it to be the most boring sport to watch. I'd much rather watch baseball, golf, and bowling instead of soccer.

Baseball? Of all sports? You guys are weird.

If the major sports, it's a clear Hockey > Soccer > no sport at all > NBA > kill myself > NFL > kill my corpse again > MLB.

The problem with NHL in the US is that there is no US based NHL team that is without competition.

NBA has Sacramento, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Portland, Salt Lake, and Orlando. Portland and Salt Lake have MLS teams but their schedule do not intertwine for the most part.

In the NHL there's only Carolina that pretty much controls most of their professional sports marketplace.

It's hard to grow the game in a market where you are competing with NFL, NBA, College Football/Basketball all at the same time.

Here in the Triangle it's an NCAA basketball audience: Duke, UNC, NC State. They are pretty much in competition for sports fans. I have to say that the Canes have done a pretty decent job of keeping a strong fanbase here despite a few abysmal seasons and rehiring Mo.

You know what you're talking about.

The only thing I think is missing in hockey is tactical discussion like you can find on zonalmarking.net

(If there's a website like this you guys should tell me now)

Hockey > Soccer (if Canada was good or the MLS was a top league, this would be different) > Football (with friends and booze) > the rest

Agreed that the NBA used to be better. Was a fan in the 90s.

Brendance Gaunce named captain of Belleville Bulls. Good for the kid.

Also, I read an article mentioning a good point about how the lockout will allow prospects dumped into the AHL a much better development season since they'll all be given bigger roles against more NHL quality competition.

Yeah, but I'll still take a potential cup-run season over that.

Baseball is 9 innings too long.

Basketball is only remotely interesting in the last minute of the 4th quarter.

Soccer is awesome(Euro, World Cup etc). I don't watch EPL or MLS.
