He also acts well in The Ides of March, and not as a highly functioning autistic!

The film isn't that good though.

I've had an irrational hatred toward Gosling since Fracture/Notebook. His smug attitude really really annoyed me. His smugness worked well in this movie. Might actually see Crazy Love now.

Fracture was such a good movie, even if sometimes didn't make any goddamn sense

1 minute containing every single important scene in the movie spoiled.

Pseudo-cult classic movies have the most retarded fanbase. I'm glad I saw the movie before reading this thread, because I think it would have been ruined by the insane circlejerk going on in the Drive fan community.

Or, others like me who are praising the movie........................(wait for it).............. ACTUALLY LIKE IT :OOOOO

*shock and awe*

Listen fella, I have no problem with you not liking the movie, but don't prance in here insulting others. Jesus christ at some people.

My mind is blown that Gosling was in Remember the titans, wow how did I not see that

Same here.

The general idea behind the plot makes sense, but the main plot detail is one of those contrivances that only works when you don't really pay that much attention to it. You just have to nod your head and just go with them on a cop being that dumb and careless.

I don't think his problem is that he disliked the movie - or, at least, that's not his sole problem. His problem was that someone's idea of a tribute was to create a one minute video containing some of the major plot points of the movie.

The best scenes in the movie contain major plot points. Shocking.

As much as i enjoyed this film there is really only one true drive

Is this any good?

I highly doubt there will ever be a film sequel, even with a book sequel on the way.

I'd be fine with no sequel, we don't need to know what happens next for the driver...
But maybe Refn could do something like his Pusher trilogy, another movie about another player in the same universe... But the big difference with Pusher is that
every potential interesting character is dead

Was talking to one of my friends who just saw this movie and they said the movie was really bad and had a lot of awkward scenes where the main characters would stare at each other for like a minute without any dialogue. He really emphasized how it was really stupid and awkward.

What say you, Gaf? I haven't seen it but is it worth checking out?

While I wouldn't say he didn't accurately describe stuff, I'd also say he didn't pick up on a shit load of stuff and didn't use his imagination to read into anything. This is not a film that hands things to you.

It's a rare film that understands that information can be communicated by means other than reams of dialogue, yes.

Just because no one actually answered your question, yes. It fucking rocks.

Anyone else catch one of the new BlackBerry Bold commercials during the basketball game on ABC today? The one with the neon bicyclists used Cliff Martinez's "Bride of Deluxe" as the music.

Same here.

Not eves broseph, Drive is in my Top 5 movies of 2011. I loved it.

What I strongly dislike is posting a video that spoils the best parts of the movies in some horrendous eye-gouge-inducing lame iCommercial style... That's silly. Praising it is even sillier.

I'm sitting here trying to watch this movie, but that low frequency sound track is pissing me the fuck off. I hope whoever came up with this shit, as well as the asshole that 'mastered' the idea of using low frequency to add tension/unease to a movie gets tinnitus with the same constant low frequency ringing they've put into this movie. Making this shit unwatchable. Fuck.

I watched the film a few days ago and I can't stop thinking about it. The soundtrack keeps playing in my head, too.

I just ordered the Pusher trilogy from Amazon.

I love the vibe and aesthetic of the movie.
That being said it felt like all fashion, no substance, and the ending was unbelievably stupid.

But Christina Hendricks was quite the looker in it. Meeeeowwww.

Just curious - how many people are going to pick up the Blu-ray on the 31st?

I know it's bare bones, but I'm nuts about this film, and I'm probably going to double dip.

Also, the credits, because I love them.

have they announced a more full featured bluray? I could wait if they have.

http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplayl...-hes-planning-a-queen-bluray-edition-of-drive

Refn is planning a full-featured one in the future, but there's no date. Just "in a year or so." I don't think I can wait that long, so I'll probably double dip.

I'm tempted to double dip. If anything, I'll make a custom cover to replace the ugly one it comes with.

Yeah, I hate the cover. I want the hot pink Mistral title.

Just saw this movie last night, it was amazing.

Funny that you post that Spider-Man image, that's the superhero I thought of while the song was playing.

The more I thought about the overall style of the film, the more I really liked it. Not my usual fare, but really gripping.

Great film, great soundtrack, great everything. Definitely grabbing the Blu-Ray.
