So... Am I the only one who didn't like it at all?
...
Does Platinum Games have a habit of releasing Definite/ GOTY versions of their games? I loved the demo but will be too busy in March to justify buying the Day One Edition and don't mind waiting longer if I can get all the DLC.
If not I'll be fine buying the base game in the summer, but I was just curious. Google hasn't given me anything and I know for a fact that Transformers Devastation received no such thing.
So the combat is worse than Cavia's? How?
I think it's good length for a demo but not as big as Nioh I feel.

Square Enix previously rereleased NieR with a new main character, so I imagine they'll do something equally annoying with Automata.
The combat in the original Nier wasn't as exploitable (dodge in this game is seriously op) and better freedom of movement while not swinging your sword.

Can't stop playing through the demo, the game is too far away lmao
That wasn't a rerelease, that was just a slightly altered version released at the same time, like Pokemon Blue and Red.
Only one of which got brought to the west unfortunately.

Wow, this really sucked. You could literally not get hit by the boss if you just mashed the R2 button. Pretty funny when Platinum can't even make gameplay that's better than Cavia's.
Gravity Rush 2 and Tales of Berseria in January,
Nioh in February,
NieR in March,
Persona 5 in April,
And Ni No Kuni 2, Zelda BotW, Dragon Quest 11, mayyybe FFVIIRemake.
This is literally the best time to be a fan of rpgs and japanese games in general.
Hell, GOTY 2017 is going to be a bloodbath.
Consider that the difficulty might be tuned to Babby's First Action Game mode so as not to alienate non-action gamers. I think Platinum said something to this effect before. Or maybe the dodge will always be super lienient to prevent frustration or allow for otherwise excessively intense combat scenarios.Wow, this really sucked. Loved the design and the soundtrack though, but damn that combat was terrible.
So is this hitting the us or no?
Uh, how is this a problem? Of course that is you mash the dodge you're less likely to get hit. Bu you won't be in an offensive position and will have lots of trouble attacking him. Using the dodge just when you really need to even benefits you.

Hate to be that guy, but if you're not a fan of "games that turn into shoot 'em ups" you should probably pass on this game.
The first Nier was, at it's core, an action-RPG/Bullet-Hell hybrid.
You and I must live in different worlds. What was the last game you played that was like this? Devil May Cry? Bayonetta? They don't come out too often.

There's always one...
I'm a downer, sorry for the huge rant, please if you enjoyed it ignore my complaints and have fun, I'm just feeling a bit tired of these "Gameplay Deja Vu"
Relax. Earth is freaking big and time zones are a thing. We leave in the best time zone, Grace Chen time zone. It's so wonderfully unpredictable. Other time zones can't match that.Staggered releases are bullshit. I should have just made a jpn psn account. There is no reason to hold this back.
Love the stylish finish to this animation. So destructively calm and graceful. Beautiful!
Well this is certainly a much larger thread than I expected for a demo of Nier.
