Wow, that was.....really quick and easy! I'm hoping this is a sign of great things to come with NX.
No purchase history? dude, this is starting to stink so bad... I really hate that about Nintendo.
How long does it take for the verification code to get to email? I've been refreshing my email like hell.
Same here on Hotmail. Check your junk folders if anything.Instantly for me (gmail).
Managed to make an account. It was super duper easy, as is linking some accounts to it (like my NNID and stuff).
Does anyone know the significance of linking your Twitter? All it does is look at who you follow and what you tweet - no other permissions.
Access Denied... huh? Any other Australians able to register?
Probably for tweets when Miitomo comes out.
Is a merge of sorts.
So as they continue to roll out things you signin with Facebook or NNID or whatever and is all tied to the same account.
This just unifies everything. Especially with mobile games were most will signin with Facebook or Google accounts.
If the purchase history doesn't carry over then what on earth is the point of new accounts in lieu of just sticking with NNID?
Try putting Nintendo Japan into google and going through there.
I was all excited because I thought I got "Peter" then we figured out the names are not unique. Watch friend codes be back. Fuckin' Nintendo.
Should probably call nintendo and get that fixed, if you can still login using that email and still remember thr pw, than you should be goodHad to make an account without my NNID linked.
And down the line, this may cause complications for the NX for me. I haven't bought many digital games from Nintendo, but still. I had two NNIDs because my main one - my Wii U one from here on out - is tied to an email I don't have access to anymore. Which led to the creation of a second NNID for my 3DS.
Now, ideally, I'd like to combine the two of them, but I know I'm going to be SOL with one of them at least. Both of them have one big title tied to them each. Anything else is all demos, so not too bothered on them. My Wii U NNID has Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD tied to it thanks to Mario Kart 8, whilst my 3DS NNID has the copy I purchased of Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Like I said, I'm going to be shit out of luck as I attempt to try and determine which NNID I link to my Nintendo Account, assuming I can get Nintendo CS to help me get me access again to my Wii U NNID.
On the flipside, being able to actually set up a Nintendo Account was fairly simple. Huh. On the negative: ten characters for nickname means I can't use my actual nickname that I have for every other system (JohnnyCullen or a variant thereof).
You should call Nintendo. Some have managed to have account merged precisely because of that. So explain the situation and see if something can be worked out.Had to make an account without my NNID linked.

No unique names... awesome.
Nickname is 10 characters or less? Good luck finding something relevant after a certain years in.

The nicknames aren't unique. It's like how Miiverse will display a nickname that can be completely different to the accounts NNID. The NNID (or account username in this case) is really the only important informationNickname is 10 characters or less? Good luck finding something relevant after a certain years in.
I dont think you know how this worksI was all excited because I thought I got "Peter" then we figured out the names are not unique. Watch friend codes be back. Fuckin' Nintendo.
I'd assume you'd be able to find people with their email address or through fb or something.Oh poop, they're not unique? Lame.

Yup, I got in. Even recognises that I'm in Australia and everything.

The nickname isn't for identifying accounts. Non unique nicknames already exist on NNID (Hell, most of us probably had ours filled in automatically with that nickname when we made the account)the accounts can't be identified on the network by their nickname because the nickname is not unique. It'd have to be by email address or a friend code or something.
