I'm somewhere inbetween depression and acceptance at this point.
I mean, it's ridiculous. By all rights, this should have been the comeback year. New console, new titles, new unprecedented partnerships, but it's all coming down to Zelda, a now cross-gen title where we will be seeing the inferior version as opposed to NX?
At the same time...realistically, what else could they show? If they so chose to completely ignore NX here and showcase it elsewhere (who knows, maybe for The Game Awards 2016?), we have Zelda, Paper Mario (that's already being written off as Sticker Star 2: The Worsening) and #FE (which I'm mildly curious about, but also has a lot of people on GAF soured on the prospect for some reason). 3DS I'm also sure is on it's last legs, but truthfully I only ever saw it as a Pokemon machine and Luigi's Mansion 2/Monster Hunter as perks. What else could we possibly focus our attention on? E3 2015 was sparse enough; I honestly thought the mini-Direct ahead of E3 was because they had such a huge offering of Wii U titles coming that they couldn't fit anything in for the 3DS. I doubt I was the only one who had that assumption. Could you imagine another E3 with half of that content, and twice the amount of people dancing to Mario music as filler?
Anything not Zelda would simply ruin their experience because we've apparently already made up our mind on Sticker Star 2. Best case scenario is to taper our expectations as fans, so they can solely be based on how great Zelda is.
