A little fluff between the ears never did any harm...
MrSardonic said:Quite presumptious really. Initially, even if only small percentage of this new market bought Wii, that would be quite substantial and expose yet more people (like their friends) to this thing. In families, if the adults enjoyed the experience there is a better chance they will buy Wii for the family or even make their own software purchases. Some people come home and watch a movie to relax, some many now consider playing a few holes of Wii golf. And finally, purchasing gaming hardware does not require the devoation of lots of time to playing it...Wii and DS are set up for completely the opposite - casual, occasional, play.
It's just as presumptuous to assume a snowball effect from those videos. I mean, how many times have you gotten somebody who doesn't usually play video games to play, and while they're having fun at the time, they never ask you to play again? I'm just not 100% convinced this new market is as eager for monetary investment as Nintendo makes them out to be, and the videos did nothing to change that. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time (Stupid effin Tinkerbell!).
