Nintendo Direct 2012.6.22 - Jun. 21, 11PM EDT

You know chums, I think we should all come together and agree to ignore this conference. We're simply not ready for another one, some members here barely survived E3.

But there should be Animal Crossing. The game if devoted a good amount of time to would make this Nintendo Direct better then all of E3.

The fond memories of the first wave of Wii U information and non specific action figure?

Yeah, that's not happening again.

Still better than the rest of E3. So I don't see the benefit of skipping this.

Also E3 is American centric so I want to hear info for where I live.

Nintendo Direct or no, Im just waiting to see when they announce the new batch of games for 3ds. It seems we have been talking about the same games forever. Im in the mood to move on to the likes of F Zero, Waverace, Metroid etc instead of jap rpg no 23 or another Mario game. I thought E3 was the time but alas... Castlevania does look great though.

I know Nintendo has used Ustream before for this, but Nico Nico Live?

The Japanese broadcast appears to concern software for Nintendo 3DS and Wii. And the European broadcast has just "Get all the latest Nintendo news directly from European President Satoru Shibata in this broadcast to gaming fans all across Europe." as a description.

While unlikely, maybe some news or at least a mention of Wii U will come. Mr. Iwata said himself that their E3 2012 media briefing was a bit inadequate, maybe this is a start of an attempt at redeeming themselves. Or perhaps it's just to appease investors prior to the 72nd Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on the 28th of June.

Well, I will watch this but I won't be expecting any greater revelations.

Because they announced Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario yonks ago. This is why I don't mind the mind they didn't make long term announcements for the WiiU.

At least after this current batch of 3DS games Nintendo should be caught up with all their original announcements so it should be fresh news here on out!

It told us pretty much nothing. We found out about the pro controller, some tv functions and Miiverse (which we still don't know much about). But far be it from me to argue a subjective point.

They told us nothing?

I thought it gave us the most information about the Wii U compared to well- anything at E3.

Skipping the ND?
Absolutely not. But due to the absurd timings, I'll not see it in real-time but after few hours.
I think that it's hard to be disappointed by the ND, because everybody knows that they are some sort of "News program" that focus on incoming games. No big reveals, no big announcments and so on, but footage, info, hopefully dates for the incoming games

The previous NDs have provided more news than E3 did. It's a crazy world.

Folders were a bigger megaton than most of E3. Folders of all things.

Thank God.
Tune-in to a new Nintendo Direct for news about Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS.
More than ten titles for Wii will be released this year, and there's probably a heap of upcoming games for Nintendo DS as well. 3DS is by no means a legacy format, so its inclusion is only expected. Dull to see that Wii U isn't even mentioned, unless Wii means the successor as well.

The Nintendo DS mention likely means "Pokemon B&W2".

Maybe they replaced Iwata's body with nonspecific action figure's.
Maybe Iwata is non-specific action figure. The hero we need but yada yada

I like these Nintendo Directs. I'm expecting just info on Theatrrhythm FF, Kingdom Hearts, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Spirit Camera and uhh... eh. Lowered expectations.

I wonder how much NoA twisted NoE's arm to make them show the European Nintendo Direct at a time suitable for the US to piggyback as they are...

We can't be sure that's exactly what happened, but I can't think of any other reason that they'd choose 5 AM for the UK, unless they are just trying to get it out ASAP.

The Letter Box note from Shibata says they want people to be able to watch it before they head to school or the office.

I think they want to have all Directs next to each other. NCL's decision is final, so NOA and NOE has to work around based on NCL's time, which is 10pm CDT. Hence NOA is at 11pm CDT, but it seems it coincides with NOE's time.

They replaced his face with bananas.

Also, to stay on topic I have my expectations low after that pretty boring pre-e3 Nintendo Direct and that pretty boring e3 conference. That was the good thing about those conferences because now I'm not expecting much.

i want to get hyped but.....im scared to after e3...

These things are a lot more honest and predictable than conference briefings and whatever. We get to know what's coming out in the coming months, and that's it. Solid dates for things with "Q3" , stuff like that.

I'm not getting my hopes too high on this regard, still Nintendo should be well aware that we all crave for new announcements for WiiU, what with their underwhelming E3 conference.

Besides, 3DS needs more steam so as to keep the momentum going in Q4 and 2013, so I bet that's what they'll be focused on mostly.

Nintendo saw that they fucked up their E3 show, so they're gonna reveal Metroid Prime 4 for Wii U later today to make up for it.

Believe.

And then the CEO of Tecmo Koei comes on stage and proudly announces that Metroid Prime will be co-developed between Team Ninja and Omega Force.

I just got a Swapnote about this. It made me laugh.
