Rhythm Heaven is all about pressing A, B or A+B. It's the same thing throughout the whole game. It's pretty much the same as playing a different song in most other rhythm games. You actually get to do something completely different in the second song in this game, so you don't actually get to see everything this game has to offer if you only play The Man with the Machine Gun.

I never cared much for Ouendan actually, but I'm really enjoying this. It's probably because this game doesn't have shitty music (well, that FFXIII song is complete shit...).

To be honest, I didn't really give Ouendan a proper chance. I only played a couple of songs on a friends copy, but I didn't get hooked right away. Perhaps I should give it another shot, but I'm guessing it's ridiculously expensive nowadays.
 
Well, that was pretty fun.
I was on the fence but now I'm pretty sure I'll end up buying this as soon as it comes out even if I'm not exactly a Final Fantasy fan.
 
Huh, this game is more fun than I thought it would be. Got a perfect combo on The Sunleth Waterscape (on Basic) the first time through. This game pretty much went from no interest to on my radar. I might want the full game. Didn't even need 30 plays of the demo, just the one.

How many songs are in the full version? Also, BMS is a battle song, FMS is a field song. What's EMS in the full version? An event song? That is, an FMV song, more or less...
 
I knew the game would be great, it didn't disappoint. It's exactly what you would want from a music game and having FF songs on top of it. It's like we haven't even scratched the surface when you have characters you can select, level-up and their abilities. They didn't show much of it in the demo, so I'm not sure how far it goes, but I'm guessing it will add more depth to the game.

Really having fun with this; gone into a must buy at some point I think!
(oh god the easy access of downloadable games is going to bankrupt me lol)
 
Theatrhythm combined with Paper Mario makes 2012 the Greatest Year Ever. I'm glad the gods decided to have the Greatest Year Ever coincide with the end of the world. Can it still be the Greatest Year Ever then? I'm going to say yes.

haha, yeah I understood that limit immediately, because I know people who have been content to play the same demo of some games for literally years, never bothering to purchase it. I can see how the same might happen for a game like this one.
 
I don't even play FF games and i'm almost sold on this from the demo, the fact that is has a lower price point than other 3DS games only sweetens the deal.
 
Looks like this demo wont arrive in NA, at least before the release date. Judging by the responses, it looks like this will be Day 1 for me. Big fan of Final Fantasy & Rhythm Games, so it's pretty much a no brainer really.
 
Is there any word on when they're putting the demo online in the US? I've got the game on preorder, but I'm dying to try it out before then.
 
I makes me hope for more (3)DS Final Fantasy games, I've held back from really digging into the more modern ones (the reviews/feedback helped stop me too lol) cause I got into the series with FFIII on the DS then FFIV.

Hopefully they continue this sequential order :/ But I'd have expected some noise by now if they were.

This game is so great though. Makes the Guitar Hero DS look even more silly.
Much much fun - might preorder :o

How the heck am I suppose to afford DS 2012? lol I prefered when there were LESS games coming out! :D
 
Guys. Why is this so good. I had already preordered it, but I hadn't expected it to be so good.

Also, I suppose there is no news about a digital release, right? This is one game I'd like to have on me at all times.

I don't think they are starting with digital releases until fall.
 
I was totally unimpressed back when the game was first announced.

Today I played the demo.

I will buy this game. And I will enjoy it. And I will buy most/all of its DLC.

I am such a sucker for rhythm games.


EDIT: Looking at the song list for the game, I am a little dissapointed that the Event song for FF6 isn't the Aria di Mezzo Carraterre. I would have bought the game for these 8 minutes of awesomeness alone.
 
Good rhythm game is good. Which reminds me, I still need to get Rhythm Thief *scribbles in notebook*

love the art design, would buy a DQ version of this in a heartbeat. DO IT SQUARE.

shut up and take my money.

Is there a complete list of the music included in the full release anywhere?
Also this game needs DLC with Chrono and KH music :D.
 
I just checked the release schedule for the coming weeks and there's really nothing noteworthy coming out aside from KH:3D. I think I can afford to buy this Day 1.
 
I quite enjoyed this. I was mainly hyped for it because I needed more Ouendan/EBA/ Tapity tap rhythm games in my life and this is pretty good. Three songs from each FF I take it (not looked at the song list yet)?

Just looked at the list and went straight to FFXI. How the HELL do they not have Distant Worlds? Is it because it's from CoP and not the main game?
 
so... after playing both demos, I instantly preordered rythm ff, and canceled kingdom hearts! that demo was just a confusing boring mess. I wish I hadn't played it.
