and made by Factor 5 to boot.

Well, that cinches it. I was pretty sure I was going to buy it, anyways (I've been playing Staff of Kings on Wii, and it's actually pretty fun, so far, if you look at it as playing through a movie), but the Factor 5 connection pushes it over the top.

Also looking forward to trying out FFCC:MLaaDL demo. I've been curious about the series, and this will let me give it a try for free. Already have NyxQuest (
collected all but 1 treasure
), but it's nice to give people a chance to try out the game. Good going, Nintendo! :D

What an awesome idea!!

Pokemon Rumble sounds fantastic, I love Pokemon and those kind of games are right up my alley, plus its 2 player co-op? So my GF can play also? SHIT YEAH!

Nintendo must have been saving all this stuff up for the holiday season all along, I get the feeling its not over yet either.... CV on the way soon?

Great choice in demos so far, everything looking positive. Now they just need to redo the shop channel, get it more integrated or something.

Played through all of the demos except World of Goo (which I already own). I think all of them are worthy purchases. I hope demos get released all the time, it's a great way to pass the afternoon. :D

What an interesting consequence of the system. Have people recommend demos to each other, that's kinda smart in a totally unintentional way.

listen to the mad man
EBGames in Canada had a promo for New Super Mario Bros that gives you 500 Nintendo points. I'm having a real hard time deciding which system to put them on, let alone which game to buy.

On Wii, I basically just need to buy LostWinds 2 but I also need points for Cave Story when it comes out. On DS, not a whole lot I'm interested in right now, but Shantae just around the corner. The only "backlogged" Wii game I'd like to buy is Swords and Soldiers.

Hmm.

blu

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
so finally people can try bit.trip, get insta-hooked and run to purchase it? good.

this game, its principles, heck its philosophy need wider exposure. if it took nintendo to discover demos for that then so be it.

it's an incredible game. the later levels are really fun.

there needs to be a demo for toki tori if there isn't one already

Wow! Pokemon Rumble is awesome.

Me and my GF just spent over and hour playing it, simple fun yet insanely addictive. Takes our obsessive MMORPG and loot game tendencies and mixes it with our love of all things Pokemon. Big thumbs up from here. :D

Will easily keep us busy while Mario is arriving in the mail still (hurry up!).

You want two games that are already available on WiiWare and Cave Story will (probably) be released sooner than Shantae. I think that's where you should put your points on =P

Hmm...kinda surprised that anyone is finding value in it. It just looks so simplistic, though the dungeon-style gameplay reminds me a bit of that Summon Night game that came out for DS a while back. I could see this being a worthy distraction for a few dollars, but man, Nintendo has massive balls asking $15 for this. And people complained about the price of the first LostWinds? Ugh...

The brilliant thing about the demos is that you can now gift them to everyone you know on your list!

If everyone does do this and it results in a shitload of demos being downloaded (and, hopefully, knock-on purchases), Nintendo would be more likely to continue offering demos...

Yeah the price is a bit steep, I noticed that straight away as 1500 points stands out! >_<

Its simplistic but addicting as a co-op game, 2 people who love Pokemon. Ya it should have been cheaper but in the end its just something we can both easily play and enjoy together which is nice, so I'm not too worried, I've wasted worst $15 in the past heh.

:D Yeah, I hear ya'. My son, of course, is a Pokemon fanatic, so I have to get it. I look forward to playing it together with him. It's cool, at least, that they have co-op play. It even says 1-4 players. Any online possibly?

From IGN's Pokémon Rumble review:

I liked Pokemon Rumble when I started. It was mindless, but it was fun, and playing with other people made it better. But as I progressed through each rank and saw the same levels, and then the same Pokemon, the experience plummeted pretty fast. If you're a pretty big Pokemaniac with a lot of friends (oxymoron, I know), then Pokemon Rumble might keep you entertained enough for a purchase.
What the burning fuck, IGN? Trying to be funny by offending your readers? Are you fucking kidding me?

I can't take these guys anymore ._.

Is Super Mario Kart and Yoshi's Island scheduled to come out in NA?

It's unsure if Yoshi's Island will since it used the super FX 2 chip, which has yet to be emulated properly to my knowledge.

I downloaded DIGIDRIVE yesterday, very addictive!

Ya 4 player would be madness lol, perhaps too easy though, I'm not sure if the difficultly changes at all or not if you go in with more?

It seems online would be simple enough in a game like this, but sadly as we've come to expect with Nintendo its not to be expected. ;( In saying that though I always prefer a local multiplayer environment to an online one, but only when I've actually got someone local to play with obviously. :lol Still having the option to one way or the other is the best solution.

Its odd because back when Red/Blue was first out and I was at school, Pokemon games were some of the few that actually required socialising with other people and such. :lol

Are Ambrella also doing that Pikachi platformer on Wii? Or is that another developer?

Yeah, they're the ones developing PokéPark.

They're also responsible for Hey You! Pikachu, Pokémon Channel and Pokémon Dash, if anyone is wondering.

Nice stealth edit, bro. I'm not a "zealous fanboy" of Pokémon at all.

And that's exactly what I said. They're trying to be funny by offending their readers. And for some reason I doubt any Pokémaniacs laughed while reading that final paragraph.

Nice, it looks fantastic. I've always wanted a Pikachu sort of adventure/platformer. I always knew them as the 'Poke-comunication' type stuff developer, now with these 2 it seems they're hopefully getting a chance to do games with a bit more 'meat' to it. Hopefully they can pull it off well.

Nope that's wrong. Creatures Inc are developing Poke Park, not Ambrella.

Wow, the demos really got me interested in buying all those games. :O

im setting away $60 bucks for christmas just for all these games that Nintendo have demos for. Some of the demos are really chunky too.

I never thought I would like Pokemon Rumble but the demo sold me. 4 players sweetened the deal:D

Agreed. Give players maybe the first five levels or something. Maybe even the entire first world.

Demos are going to do wonders for WiiWare games. The extra exposure will do a lot of good. I know I'm going to be more open-minded about titles now that I can actually give them a try rather than being forced to look at other player impressions.

I've already bought a couple of downloadables on Wii that I wish I hadn't. Demos will certainly keep me from making any more mistakes like that.

Yeah, I decided my comment sounded much more inflammatory/accusatory than I intended. But I don't see how it was worth flipping out over. The reason nobody laughed is because it wasn't funny, not because they didn't see it as run-of-the-mill self-depreciating joke.

I know they've got me begrudgingly interested in Pokemon Rumble because of this. The more the better.

I just received an e-mail from Nintendo of Europe saying Pokemon Rumble hits Europe on November 20th. Worryingly though, neither the e-mail or microsite mention the demo.

Played Pokemon Rumble for a while yesterday and it's pretty addictive even though it's so shallow. Constantly collecting and upgrading your Toy Pokemon kept me playing through to the middle of B Rank in one sitting.

I do wish there were more "dungeons" though.

Re: Pokemon Rumble. Just got the email code from Nintendo... anyway, it mentions more codes at www.pokemonrumble.com but I get a 403 Forbidden at that URL. Is it not up yet?

EDIT: Pokecode (probably old) --
Pokémon: Charizard (Flame Pokémon)
Type: Fire/Flying
Moves: Flamethrower
Password: 79684528

Tried the Pokemon Rumble demo last night, really considering buying it. THIS is why you have demos Nintendo. This is a game I would have blown off as another lame pokemon spin-off, but now I'm hooked. It's stupid simple fun that I couldn't stop playing, multi-player sweetens the deal.

Question about Pokemon for those who bought it, how much further does the actual game go? I was surprised at the demos length. I noticed the game was only featuring Red/Blue pokemon, does it eventually branch into the games?

Just played through the Final Fantasy Darklord demo...I was very impressed! And it's a good demo in that by the time it's finished, it's gotten really good and you're wanting more. Think I'll be buying the full version soon :D I was always going to get it eventually but it fell into my WiiWare-buying backlog (along with Bonsai Barber, Swords & Soldiers, Lit and Lost Winds 2).

I still haven't got My Life as a King yet either...eep!

Possibly so, but they should have considered putting a fun level in the demo. The impression I got was a slooooooooowwwwwww platformer with boring level design.

Got Pokemon Rumble the other day, played through it, and I'm not playing through the Advanced Mode. The game both pleasantly surprised and disappointed me. It's got a great presentation, sharp graphics and it's as addictive as you'd want a Pokemon game to be. On the flipside, there's no online multiplayer or trading, you've only got six different dungeon types, and the dungeons are really plain. I would be completely satisfied with the game, I think, had it been 800 Wii Points, but 1500 is criminal. Nintendo is with their games like an overweight person who looks in the mirror and thinks they're too skinny. They don't seem to put a realistic value on their products.

Basically, yes.

Meh. It's not Super Paper Mario innovative (i.e. 2-D/3-D), but it's pretty good for a $10 game. The later levels where you can
control the path of wind gusts
are pretty creative if you're trying to find all the artifacts. The last couple of levels have you
needing to clear areas before a giant eye opens in the background periodically
and
fighting off flying meteors from the sun while you're trying to traverse the levels
. It's $10 game good but not $50 game good. I'm glad that I got it. :)

Tried the Bit.Trip Beat demo, bought the game straight afterwards. Awesome game, hard as hell though! (Can't beat the second stage :lol)

A "pro" tactic is to put two wiimotes together with a rubberband. You'll get a paddle twice the size..

Awesome, I'm really loving these demos!
Just tried the Pokemon Rumble demo, and it's more fun than I expected for such a simple game. It certainly has it's flaws, and 1500 points is pretty steep, but I'm considering getting it or My Life as a Darklord.

Anyone in the US would do well to download Robot Rescue. 200 points is near nothing and it's a really cool puzzle game. Well worth your money
