What game are you most excited for?

The presentation was solid. It was too thin though, so I expected more. Had they shown more on Metroid they probably would have won.

Second best presentation 5.5/10

Final score

EA 2/10
MS 2/10
BS 3/10
Sony 3/10
Nintendo 5.5/10
Ubisoft 6/10

Congrats Ubisoft for winning E3!
I didn't see Bethesda, but in terms of ranking presentations I'd agree with this (though my scores would be more generous).

Nintendo continues to win on announcing games I'm actually going to buy, though.

Better than what I expected, but not by much. The Pokemon and Metroid teases saved the day a bit, even if they were just teases. Surprised there was no FE Switch trailer though, that seemed like a shoe in. Odyssey and M+R look great.

2018 definitely looking light at the moment though, both from a first and third party perspective. Im sure there will be another surprise announcement before E3 is over, but hopefully this isn't a sign that we are going to be seeing some severe droughts come next year.

If a basic smash 4 remix/port was happening we'd know about it already

Fact that we haven't seen smash yet makes me believe that it's going to basically be a whole new game when it comes.

Which is good. I wouldn't be happy about basically playing smash 4 again

Exactly. Ice Climbers need to come back, there are two new franchises that NEED representation. Smash 5 would be hype. Smash 4+ wouldn't

The direct was decent enough if a bit short. Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 this year means I'm definitely going to buy my Switch before the year is out.

You got Metroid Prime 4 for Switch announcement.
You got Pokémon Core RPG developed by Game Freak for Switch announcement.
You got a few surprises as Kirby and Yoshi for 2018.
You got Xenoblace Chronicles 2 for 2017 and not 2018 as rumored.
You got an amazing Mario Odyssey trailer.

And still GAF wanted even more.

Never change, GAF.

Clearly it's because everyone has such lofty expectations for them.

we knew about many of those games already, and the only new exciting game, metroid, was a no-show. A title screen? seriously?

This is what I want to know.

The "oh, Switch is a surprise hit" grace period is gone. You have Ubisoft putting a ton of effort into MxRK and Bethesda porting Skyrim. Wtf is the rest of the third-party support?

Nintendo really needs to promote more titles from their partners, because I don't want this thing to end up being another Nintendo-only box. I'll get this thing anyway, because it's actually getting RPGs. It's just that Switch can do much better than this on the third party front.

Also seeing some posters up in arms about a lack of Virtual Console info. You bought a $300 system to play old games? Probably shouldn't have sold that Wii U or 3DS, if it's such big deal.

I guess hey Pikmin was it.

That one is made by Arzest though and not Miyamoto's Pikmin team. Also Pikmin World was registered as a trademark. Still a bit weird, because that game should have been finished by now. I hope it's not another case like Pikmin 3 where the game disappeared for ages after Miyamoto mentioned it.

Anyone else intrigued by the reboot-style titles for Yoshi and Kirby? I didn't see a "Title Pending" or anything attached.

In general over the past decade, I have come to the conclusion that Nintendo fans are far and away the easiest audience to appease for these showings. Nintendo has to fuck up hardcore to get a negative response. This was an okay-ish conference, certainly an improvement after the shitshow yesterday.

I don't know, i think Nintendo fans are the most passionate - but also the most volatile as well. I think you just have to see previous directs threads for that . Reactions are way ott normally. Hype threads as well. Personally think Nintendo is held under a magnifying glass that others aren't/ Just my view on it though. Maybe different to others.

Well Nintendo fans love Nintendo I.P.'s so of course. But I'm the same way with most of PlayStation's stuff so I can't hate :p

Only GAF can find a way to be disappointed in an E3 showing that had a Metroid Prime 4 announcement.

Over generalizing some posters opinions (who post them over and over) shouldn't be attributed to "gaf".

There are plenty of people who aren't trying hard to devalue other people's opinions and who appreciate the creativity these developers are displaying.

we knew about many of those games already, and the only new exciting game, metroid, was a no-show. a title screen? seriously?

Yet GAF (crashed the site/couldn't stop reading about for months after) still lost its shit over two no shows, Last Guardian/Shenmue III, when they were just mere name drops. Door has to swing both ways, eh?

No Bayonetta
No Smash Bros
No Virtual Console news

I wasn't asking for much, Nintendo!

And now that I've seen more of Mario Odyssey I've come to the conclusion that Nintendo is on drugs.

I walked into Reggie's room and he was just like staring at the wall
Thinking about everything
But then again he was thinking about nothing
But I came in and Reggie didn't even know I was there

I called his name and he didn't even hear it
And then I started screaming, 'Reggie! Reggie!'
And he goes, 'What, what's the matter''
And I go, 'What's the matter with you?''

Reggie goes, 'There's nothing wrong, Moofers.'
And I go, 'Don't tell me that, you're on drugs'
He goes, 'No, Moofers, I'm not on drugs, I'm okay
I was just thinking you know, why don't you get me a Pepsi'

And I go, 'No, you're on drugs!'
He goes, 'Moofers, I'm okay, I'm just thinking'
I go, 'No you're not thinking, you're on drugs!
Normal people don't act that way!'

So I think its time we get Reggie and everyone else at Nintendo the help that they need.

A lot of people were saying that there would be zero surprises and only 2017 games, but that didn't seem to be the case.

Also, people shouldn't just believe random people on 4chan.

I still can't believe how fucking frontloaded this first year for the Switch is.

Zelda, ARMS, MK8D, Splatoon 2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Mario + Rabbids, and the actual mad men are still sticking to Xenoblade 2 for the Holidays.

This has to be the most exciting first year I've ever experienced for a console.

Fucking major props that they didn't dwell on games like Splatoon 2, ARMS and Pokkén for this spotlight. They were laser focused on this. New Yoshi, Kirby were also incredibly welcome surprise announcements.

yep, it is crazy
