For the record, Emily Rogers is in regular contact with GAF mods. She told me her new policy is to talk to GAF mods (or show GAF mods stuff) before she teases anything on Twitter.
And they vet her how? The thing is, she hasn't "leaked" anything (to my knowledge) that wasn't sort of an obvious prediction anyways, and her more specific material leaks were wholly false. I also don't recall any leaks to specific Nintendo-made games, the only stuff we're getting excited about here. I just don't see any point in reacting to her stuff, or anyone's, unless they say something much more specific. Otherwise, they're building "credibility" on generalities.

they probably planned on announcing mario/kart ect earlier but when spring games got delayed ect they sat on them til e3 for the big second half of 2013 push they seem to be planning, thus the short announcement to release time

Mario's holding something in the first silhouette. Is it something for a sports game? I'm blanking on anything from the winter olympics that would have you carry anything in that shape and that being an unannounced game wouldn't go with the theme of the other silhouettes all being previously shown titles.

Well supposedly 3D Mario was ready to be shown at E3 last year but they didn't.

lol its his gloves. He's jumping the air with one hand in the air and the other behindhim

I could have sword I said I'd like this thread, which is about Nintendo's E3 Direct and presence, to not turn into a soapbox analysis of Emily Rogers' trustability and rumour history. Because we certainly haven't beaten that horse to death in a hundred other threads prior. But maybe I'm misremembering things.

What

Why? Even if you disliked the original games, a reboot wouldn't play anything like them.

Sure, but I'd rather they use a more interesting setting and characters.
I'm sure the gameplay's going to be great, but if it's not going to be a new IP, then I'll take pretty much any other Nintendo IP over Star Tropics.

I'll still be there day 1 if it turns out to be Star Tropics though. Because Retro.

The partner will always help the hero in the end, and the horse will always be protected.

The first Mario silhouette is cut directly from stock Galaxy art.

STOP.

Stop wanting remakes, people! Unless it's a remake of Resident Evil 2, you can shut your goddamn mouths!
OoT3D was so good, they might as well make MM3D. It'd be fitting, since the original MM repurposed many assets from OoT. Now many of those assets have been rebuilt in the 3DS version -- ripe for MM to repurpose again!

Not to mention, it'd be hella tight seeing the mask spin out toward the screen in 3D in the intro... or the moon suspended above Clock Town all solid and real.

Seriously, do people even know what they want from it? I'd rather something entirely new than rehashed StarTropics.
StarTropics by Retro would be something totally new. They basically have a blank slate to create whatever they want with that license since it's been MIA for so long. It was the same story with Kid Icarus. Uprising is a rebirth of the franchise, and it's not even the same genre of game!

I don't understand you remake-people

These are new consoles and handhelds - don't you want to have new stuff on it before asking for remakes of games that aren't even that old? A 3DS defining Zelda instead of a N64 Zelda for 3DS?

Depends on what kind of title it is especially if either Mario Kart or 3D Mario fall out of this year

THose two will defintely be out this year. I still think Retro will create a game that is more , I don't like the term but I have to use it, mature than the others. Then it will probs get released this year

NO YOU.

MM remake only makes sense. The assets are there, the game design is done - just pretty it up, include a more flexible save system, and maybe a few pleasant bonuses, and let the money pour in. I'd be there Day Zero.

And I don't typically care that much for remakes. But I need MM remade.

MM is 13 years old and, while nice-looking for its time, could definitely stand an update, especially to smooth out the framerate and bugs, as well as make it portable. I'm happy to be receiving LttP2, but let's be honest, the game could end up being garbage, whereas I know that MM is a shining light of nostalgic majesty. There's no reason we can't have both.

We're getting ALttP2, which is all-new. I just think that, if the potential is there to make the definitive edition of a cherished game (in this case 2000's Majora's Mask), it's fine to alternate between all-new titles and cost-effective, nostalgia-inducing, crowd-pleaser remakes.

Some people are crazy. I'm just in the opinion if Zelda Wii U is the end of the hero of time trilogy, then majoras Mask makes sense for advertisement.

And would be financially feasible with low costs for engine and portability and low time turnaround.

Tbf, it would be nice if they could update the frame rate.

in my dream hero of time

Why not both?

Fair enough. I'd rather see it done by Next Level Games, personally.

A long side Kart/3D Mario/Celda etc? I would imagine it coming next year but who knows! Could be an e-shop game for all we know!

We dont even know if Mario Kart and 3D Mario is even coming out this year, only big game we know that is coming out in the Fall is Zelda WW HD
