Also one thing I find curious. With the majority of gaming developers, publishers, and journalism all gathered in LA why is the direct not more convenient for their time zone? It seems to be more set up for the east coast and international audiences.

Should have scheduled it for 10am pacific time/ 1pm eastern time.

Im international. You call 2 in the morning convenient?

Hey guys. Unfortunately I need to skip watching Direct live. Do we know if it is uploaded somewhere soon after release and will someone make a link (not the elf dude) to it in some spoiler free thread?
The Direct and other stuff will be uploaded to Nintendo's Youtube channel.

I think you can see it later in Nintendo's site. Anyway it will be Youtubed instantly anyway so you're covered

Nintendo usually uploads directs on their youtube shortly thereafter. I'm sure someone will link that in the spoiler-free thread.

I'm up and ready GAF here is my bingo card for the direct

I forgot to make a bingo card, so I made a list of stupid predictions based on the infamous Miiverse list and my own wishful thinking. I didn't put things we know for sure like "They show Mario."

1. Wii U Price Cut ($299? $249? $269? I don't know.)
2. Something's happening in July (at least in NoA's realm)
3. The third Sonic game is shown
4. Virtual Console news (GBA? GC?)
5. A Final Fantasy game is announced (Miiverse list)
6. A Metal Gear game is announced (Miiverse list)
7. A Metroid game is announced (Miiverse list)
8. Dragon Quest X localization is announced (Miiverse list)
9. More HD remakes (Xenoblade?)
10. Retro's game is open world
11. Indie games shown off/announced
12. Grasshopper and/or Platinum has a new game to announce (total wishful thinking)

Girl who's had an $8,000 boob job posts on my Facebook that "The gaming industry should die off so boys can grow up and stop spending money on useless toys".

Oh god the impulse to point out the irony...

2010 isn't that long ago actually! That would be about 3 years development time which is more than standard for a big HD Game. Then take into account that Mario 3D Land and Galaxy 2 were 80% same staff. I'm awaiting the day EAD Tokyo announces 2 main titles at the same time, instead of the usual Mario game alongside some wacky e-shop app.

I just don't want to hype myself up, only to be disappointed. It has happened way too many times with Nintendo conferences over the last few years. I'm setting my expectations low first, and then allowing for surprises to trickle in. We'll see.

Sooo.. ND, then GT Power Hour with Reggie and Miyamoto, then developer interviews... is there anything else that is a must-watch?

Because the direct isn't meant for the developers, publishers and journalists that are in LA? But instead intended for gamers (well...mostly Nintendo fans) everywhere?

The press and investors will have their own events later on.

Line 4 - New IP from Nintendo (if not stated to be Miyamoto's), New Fatal Frame, New DOnkey Kong, New Pokemon Snap, New Mario
Line 5 - New Kid Icarus, New Golden Sun, New Mario Kart, Wind Waker HD shown, New Chibi-robo.

One possible concern... We haven't really seen any major HD nintendo games yet, have we? Not other than Pikmin, which started as a wii game.

What if they really are having serious trouble learning to make good looking HD games?
And what if it's the opposite and what they have to show looks more impressive then current... oh excuse me... I mean "last" gen?

I can preorder 4 more games but I'm leaning towards 3. HELP ME GAF! What to do what to do. I'm putting this money on a gift card soon before the Direct.

I pray they don't waste anymore time on Pikmin 3.

They are bound to show a new trailer at least....and they should.

The fact is this Direct is going to be viewed by far more people than usual, so it would be silly not to use the Direct to push soon to be released content.

5 minutes combined would be enough to show a decent amount of Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101 and Super Luigi U.
