I don't want ANOTHER 2D platformer for fucks sake

Yes, because the world needs 3D Donkey Kong instead.

There's no way they'd put anything brand new on the lanyard, something that will be seen and given out before the Direct. Even if they're new renders it's all just Nintendo characters, nothing suggesting a brand new game. WW HD we already new about.

They're not spoiling anything on a lanyard.

I wouldn't object to Jungle Beat 2 by EAD Tokyo, as long as they at least bring Diddy back for it, a nice brother to DKCR.

But we NEED a FUCKING 3D DK again for god sake. :(

Someone take the "You are already dead" image, shop in Reggie's face over Kenshiro's, and change the subtitles to "Geoff, you are already dead."

And I do NOT want DKCR2, get Retro on another game, get someone else on DK. Was it confirmed that Retro said they were not working on DKCR2? I read that somewhere, but I don't remember if it was official.

Maybe "mature" was the wrong term

I mean something with more depth: exploration, puzzles and gameplay mechanics that work like clockwork. A game that I can lose myself in instead of playing few levels and calling it a day; a presentation that relies on more than just artstyle and nostalgia.

I want a Nintendo game that is high-budget and high-quality, and nobody can tell me we had one of those recently

RETRO is perfect for something like that

That's not what's being said. What is being said is that people caring more about something being "mature" instead of being a good game are people who might need to re-consider their priorities.

Some people can't really connect to happy-go-lucky DK and his swashbuckling pal diddy. Context makes a lot of difference. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre would be a vastly different viewing experience if all the main characters were tellytubbies, ya know? There could very well be some gripping tension, character development and tasteful shots in the movie, but the subject matter makes it less approachable. I'm all for light-hearted games but you gotta consider the other side my friend :) Dark subject material certainly sells! Look at the FPSs and AAA titles raking it in!

I 100% agree.

DKCR2 by Retro = Disappointment
New "mature" game by Retro = Must have

You want an adventure or an open world game, right? We can have it with Meteoid if they do it in a big scale. Though new nintendo characters for smash wouldn't hurt either ;)

Look at the majority of multiplatform releases nowadays, they are just boring shooting shit.

Wow people still say this? Of course that Shooters seem to dominate the market but they are NOT the only types of games that are multi platform.

Who said that? How do you get that from what he said?

"I don't want something mature. I want something that is fun and enjoyable to play."

Obviously stating here that if something is mature it can't be fun, well perhaps for him.

Plus what is "Mature" and what is not in the gaming industry is pretty loose nowadays.

There's nothing wrong with people wanting something a bit more mature in their games, its part of what make them enjoyable to them.
