HEY MAN PLUS GIVES YOU LOTS OF STUFF YOU SHOULD JUST GET IT IT'S ALREADY BETTER THAN LIVE AND I ALREADY HAVE IT ANYWAY

Well, Plus is actually pretty good, but I understand being mad at online multiplayer being behind a paywall.

It's pretty obvious that Sony wants just about everyone paying $60 a year on top of $400.

日本時間であと7時間後、23時スタート!!!ニンテンドーダイレクト絶対見てね!!みんなで見てね!!

And again, Masuda goes:

"Starting in 7 hours, 11PM JST!!! Make sure you watch the Nintendo Direct!! Watch it together!!"

What else happens tomorrow? Is it all Nintendo throughout the day (not that I would mind) because Namco and Capcom have been very quiet.

Drop the Wii U system price by $50 or more and you have my money Nintendo.

PS4 + Wii U for me...

I think if Nintendo wants to have a fighting chance they need to drop price by $100. They're not gonna do it.

I'm predicting a Pokemon Stadium type game

I don't know if I'm just judging books by their cover here but... seeing so many next gen "MMO" open world games makes me scared. I just hope they know that making a game open world doesn't exactly mean that it'll be better. Fucking trends.

7 Hours left!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FUCKYESH

Personally, I would like the next-gen to run on open-world MMO's. It won't be as glorious as the PS2/NGC era (RPGs), but it certainly can't be worse than having a whole gen run on shooters.

I'm SO hyped. SO, SO incredibly hyped. I'm Sony-happy, tomorrow I'll absolutely be Nintendo-happy if Smash or Mario Kart suddenly appear. Best E3 since... 2010, I think.

My body isn't as ready as it used to be..the Sony conference delivered so much for all the gamers that it will be hard for Nintendo to take the crown of this years E3.

Even if the gameplay looks amazing and feels fresh...the graphics won't match nearly that, what we saw today from MS or Sony, so most of the people won't show any interest. Besides the Nintendo hardcore fans. :/

The difference is, those games go for a realistic look so yeah, they'll look great. Nintendo games are stylised and will look up there with the stylised games on the PS4/XboxOne

A little overexcited, but maybe they're planning something like what happened with MH3U? That would be pretty cool.
I had a feeling for a long time that there's a "last straw" rescue plan for a failing main console where Nintendo would up-port the latest Pokémon title despite the handheld only rule for the series main titles. Maybe now it's the time.

All the Sony conference did that hyped people was announce that they weren't doing to fuck the consumers in the ass without lube, other than KH3 and FFXV there wasn't a whole lot there.

Sony pretty much won of the two shown so far. It's gonna be really hard for Nintendo to have a chance at taking away some of their steam. That's why I think they should focus on trying to be the "companion console".

I'm sorry, but the gimped SKU of Xbox 360 is still $199, and the good one is still $299 (as is the PS3). The hardware in the Wii U is mostly better and certainly newer, along with a more-expensive-than-normal proprietary-made controller. You expect Nintendo to be cheaper than previous generation consoles?

BTW: here's my "prediction - outside of a purchased partnership or two, the third party showing for the system is and will, for the foreseeable future, be extremely poor. First party will shine, as it usually does, so those looking in that direction will be pleased.

When I said MMO open world games I meant "MMO" Open World shooters and "MMO" Open World Racing games... so yeah, it will get worse, imo.

SOny cemented themselves as a very viable next gen platform, when before the idea of DRM and Used Games restrictions was sullying next gen. Now that next gen is cool again Nintendo is once again being left in the dust. That, and along with the very affordable price is why Sony was soo great, and why Nintendo has to step up. And has to price cut.

Maybe they should focus on showing more than about 4 new games if they want to top Sony's.

I do absolutely agree with this though:

Yes, those two games are the surprises for the hardcore gamers. But the genreal crowd is amazed by everything they showed. They doesn't matter if it was a surprise or not.
The watch the Killzone trailer and think "Holy shit what amazing graphics, Sony delievers once again!!"!

And Nintendo will come around with some shiny, colorful graphics and we all know what people think, when they see that compared to Sony games...I got a PS1/N64 feeling right now.

After watching both the X1 and PS4 conferences I think Nintendo was right to skip a press conference this year. The hype is not on their side and they probably have no comparable partnerships or awesome 3rd party games to match what the other two showed.

All I want is a steady stream of great games, especially anything that doesn't make me think the Wii U is just a current gen console a few years too late to the market.

Also, I want a 3ds direct announced right after the Wii U E3 Direct.

My bad. I certainly hope Nintendo doesn't follow.

I dunno, if they show off X it should blow some people away. Xenoblade had amazing art direction, combo that with HD graphics and it'll look better than the grays and browns of the shooters Sony and Microsoft showed off.

Guess it's time for me to go to bed. I'll wake up an hour before the Direct. Hopefully the GAF actually works this time and hopefully the stream is smooth.

It's a shame really. Had Nintendo been actually forward think about the Wii U hardware design, maybe it would of gotten a lot of these third party games. I guess we'll have to wait yet another 5-6 for them to catch up with the Wii U 2.

I doubt that. If Nintendo's console was more powerful than the PS4, they still wouldn't have third party support. Third parties have often spoken out against Nintendo platforms, they think they can't compete with Nintendo's own games. Nintendo has tried to accommodate this but third parties never take the opportunity

The PS4 hypetrain delivered. Lets hope the Nintendo hype train delivers too. Smash bros trailer + amazing 3D mario and X and this will be the greatest E3 ever for me :)

Do it Ninty!

To be honest...Killzone was very colorful! :D

But you're right with X!

Nope. If they won't port games from the 360/PS3...they wouldn't port games from the PS4/Xbone to a more powerful system.

Nintendo would just have had a bigger money drain with little 3rd party support.

Speaking of hype trains, whatever happened to the hype airship? Nibel teased it for weeks and then when it was released it was only around for maybe a day and a half and hasn't returned since. I never got a chance to be on it. :(

After spending two generations arguing how ass-backward the very idea of paying a Live subscription just so one can play online multiplayer is, I'm kind of furious that Sony is now joining that come-stained party and everyone is just skipping round the subject because HEY THEY DON'T GIVE US ASS-BACKWARD DRM #PRAISE #PRAISE #PRAISE

Fucking this.

Guys, after Sony's conference is it even possible to hyped about Nintendo Direct? Honestly, we already know it's going to be first party heavy and for the most part we know what we are going to get. I am having a hard time getting hyped and only foresee disappointment. Help me GAF, I want to be hyped...

With the amount of pessimissm in GAF (already inflitrating the Miiverse), I dunno what they could say to shake/remove the "Nintendo is DOOMED!" mindset. Pricecut is expected. The titles they've promised back in E3 is a given. They need to show us something great that we would not wait long (as in coming out this year, a few months after E3) to give incentives.

The hypetrain has to go lightspeed essentially.

Hmm. Monolithsoft and X.

I think the only reason why they're not supporting the system is because it isn't selling well. It didn't need to be this super powerful god console, just powerful enough to get those next gen games. They could of marketed in 2012 as a clear leap ahead of the competition, that would of at least sold way more units than it's selling now.

I will say that we can all mock Nintendo for their overlong Nintendoland demo but compared to say Destiny or that racing car game during Ubi's, it at least felt like an experience that was new for the upcoming generation.
