Another news!
Base Switch version outsold lite version greatly in the last quarter of sales.
7.58M for Base Switch
3.24m for Lite SKU
damn, Sony is FUCKED.
Bad news for next gen consoles they're competing against juggernaut like Switch and not the WiiU this time around.
If you take a look at the graph carefully, Switch is extending the lead at a bigger volume than before. Its almost like there is a repeating pattern in the data due to the different launch dates.

LAUNCH ALLIGNED!Waters wet, one is nearing the end of its life cycle and the other is not even 3 years old and was cheaper compared to the other.
Youre making it sound like the switch wont hit sales fatigue a few years from now. This isnt comparing the last three years directly but the switch's first three years vs the ps4's first three years. And its still a very comparable sales figure (by march im sure the switch will hit around 53.5-54 vs the ps4's 50 mil)Waters wet, one is nearing the end of its life cycle and the other is not even 3 years old and was cheaper compared to the other.
Until next quarter when PS4 up to 57.1m.
Every somebody write an article in January about that.
you have to consider the PS4 is more expensive the Switch
If youre selling a $400 and $200 and they re selling at the same pace then the former should be considered to be a more succesfull product
It's still entertainment. I'd say they're all competing in good consideration. So? They aren't even the same thing and not even in competition with each other. Two different sides of the gaming .market
Surprised how close it is, given that PS4's price was higher for 34 months on the dot.

I'm not intending on making it sound that way and I never said that they weren't comparable, I did, however point out that there is many different aspects in that lead to the two selling similar amounts of units.Youre making it sound like the switch wont hit sales fatigue a few years from now. There are some errors.
That's a brand new delusional rationalization friend, you guys are really outdoing yourselves. I've seen "PS4 is at the end of its life cycle", I've seen "Switch is a handheld and therefore it doesn't count", but "PS4 is more expensive than the Switch and that's why it's more successful" is an interesting spin. It might make even less sense than the others.
I mean, the only relevant metric this would relate to is software sales, and Switch software sales are amazing, totally compatible with its hardware sales.Im curious if the Switch sales are actually a bit deceiving. I have 3 Switches in my household. The Switch possibly doesn't have the market penetration one would think from sales alone.
When the PS5 launches it'll be the new hotness all over againBad news for next gen consoles they're competing against juggernaut like Switch and not the WiiU this time around.
Sony won't have the advantage of facing off against that botched Xbox One launch. I think the PS5 will do better than the SEX, it might even do better than the Switch or PS4. But they won't have the momentum of their main competitor fucking up as hard as they did in the past gen.
Calm down mate no need to get angry yet
just using some simple logic here
If a $50,000 Mercedes car manage to pull the same number as a $18,000 Toyota in the same lifespan than that should be seen as a good achievment by the former car
1. Ridiculous form factor that won't fit into 99% of home entertainment centres.
2. No exclusive games.
3. Absurd console name leading to consumer confusion
4. I'm gonna say it again....NO EXCLUSIVES?!
5. Game Pass is a breeding ground for mediocre games.
6. Phil Spencer
If you think the Xbox One launch was botched, well strap in brother, you ain't seen nothing yet!
