Nintendo WiiU is the worst next-gen console

I buy my consoles for great games, and the Wii U is currently stomping the competition to the ground, and will continue doing so for the foreseeable future.

The Wii U is currently my main console. I do multiplats and indies on my PS4... And I use the Xbox One as a visual reminder that I need to muster the guts to face customer service for a refund on MCC.

- Their 2015 line-up is horrible. Let's be honest here

:lol

For me, I get the most use out of my Wii U. I seriously can't find the effort to turn on my PS4. (Actually, I'm going to trade in the 2nd game I own because I'm just bored of it and that's Destiny). The only other game I own on my PS4 is a game that's not even out in North America by the way... Ryu ga Gotoku: Ishin.

I should say there are a lot of games I want on the PS4 but I've also found that I've been buying the PC counterpart of these 3rd party games instead too (rather than using my PS4 for them). Just more convenient for me. There are a ton of games for PS4 that I want in 2015 upcoming though... maybe even as many as there are Wii U, if not more (if those titles don't end up delayed as well).

Yeah it's kind of a piece of shit. It's really no wonder the thing bombed so bad.

Some of the games are pretty good though. I'll probably buy one next year for cheap.

I still scratch my head on why they force you to use the gamepad for accessing the settings menu, unless there's a way to bring that menu to your TV with the Wii Pro controller.

-The price of thing is fucking ridiculous. It's price should already be $250 or lower. Currently you have to spend around $400 dollars if you want a game and an extra controller.

The thing is 300$ with 2 games, and there was sales recently for either 300$ with 3 games or 250$ with 2 games.

Yeah, the hardware and design decisions are very misguided and terrible, all of those points have truth to them (except for maybe the first one); but the Wii U is the only one of the three that's worth owning at all at this moment.

I must be crazy for loving the gamepad. One of the most comfortable and full-featured controllers in history.

The thing with the Wii U is,well my opinion, i can agree its a piece of shit without third party support, i can agree that the system is badly designed, costly . inferior and it is not worth your time, like the other systems.

And i could agree,if Wii U had bad or mediocre games,or similar to what you can find on the competition.

But, that is not the case here, i think the system has a quality lineup of exclusives, with good , smooth gameplay and aesthethics, that differentiates itself enough to be worthy of being at the side of an Xbox One, Play Station or PC.

I usually respect opinions, but you're wrong. All 3 consoles have their negatives but even though the Wii U is underpowered compared to the other two, it has the best games this generation so far...

lol

keep telling yourself that while i have a blast making new mario levels and bouncing around plush worlds as a little knitted yoshi

edit: oh right and fucking star fox too! 2015 is looking amazing yo

Again, I'm still a fan. I still buy their games, but they are lagging behind the competition. And no, 2015 looks awful unless you ignore what other publishers are doing. There are far better games elsewhere than the ones you mentioned coming out in 2015 for other platforms.

So you have a problem with the infrastructure.
At least it's free. All things considered, it's so far the best console for me.

Most people are aware of the console issues, you are not alone on some of the points you make but when you put a CD into that drive and press play, it usually is a pretty fucking cool ride (at least the games I bought/played) and that's why people are still excited about this game playing machine. It has games and there are still some pretty exciting games to come.

While a lot of the issues as to what you said about the dislikes of the system I can understand and some I can totally agree with. However when you said the lineup for 2015 is bad. I can easily say the same thing for both PS4 and Xbox One but I won't say that cause its all about preferences of course. To me as a multi-console owner every generation, the lack of 3rd parties doesn't bother me at all. People will buy the Wii U as a secondary console not a primary. However, as of right now its a primary for me but when I get my Xbox One, then that problem from 3rd parties will be solved for me. The only people that buy a Wii U from the start are Nintendo Fans that don't care for 3rd party games or Multi-Console owners.

Are you from the future or do you like to talk shit about games you haven't played?

You're not honest though.

No kidding... Xenoblade Chronicles "X", Zelda U, Star Fox U, Mario Maker, Yoshi's Woolly World, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse... those are all the titles I'm personally buying in 2015. I might cave for Splatoon as well. Depends if my friends get that one or not.

I feel much the same. I bought mine for Mario Kart. I also own Wonderful 101, Nintendo land, monster hunter, Smash and Bayo 2.

Games wise it's very strong next to the first year of PS4 and XB1. The line up is looking slim though. Outside of Zelda I'm not excited.

I bought the Skylanders bundle which was very cheap, so I'm not happy with the price. However I do feel like the usual bundles are poor value next to the competition.

The hardware is awful though. Outside of a half decent YouTube app, and the Gamecube adaptor, the console offers nothing. No party chat is a joke.

- Their 2015 line-up is horrible. Let's be honest here, just Zelda Wii U and Splatoon look good.
Annnnnnd you lost me. I empathize with some of your opinions like embarrassingly small storage capacity (great way to dissuade digital sales) and unattractive pricing, but if that's what you actually think about software in 2015 it undermines your credibility in general. Especially when you frame it with an absurdity like "let's be honest here". Personally, I think the line up is the redeeming value of the system, and 2015 is looking pretty badass to me.

Again, this is subjective. And many of the Wii U owners here have either a PC or another console. What are these games coming next year that absolutely blow everything Nintendo does out of the water? (I know there's excellent games, but I want to see your list so I can see your tastes)

I was one of those who mocked the WiiU during the poor sales, was very disappointed with Nintendo of Europe and the company itself not working well with 3rd parties. I bought one for Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors and love it.

It's very hyperbolic of me to say this considering it's very early days, but I'm getting old Dreamcast 1st party vibes with it. Whilst there are more powerful successors out there, it already has enough innovative games for it to be remembered for I think some time to come.

Hardware? No good. I completely agree.

But the software is there for those who want it. Not everyone's cup of tea, but there's a solid variety, and I've enjoyed what it has to offer.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. Nintendo first party is fucking slaying it in 2015. Sony and Microsoft are being held up by third parties through the year, aside from a couple tentpoles. Nintendo first party be putting in work all the time

My PS4 has been collecting dust since I finished TLoU:Re (which did not live up to the hype for me) in the summer...

My XO is still unopened because I'm still ho-humming about whether it's worth it to play only Halo (and maybe a few more exclusives).

Meanwhile, my Wii U has been getting so much playtime, and has brought me joy that I honestly haven't experienced since the N64 days (I had an absolute blast playing 3D World with my brother). I like my Wii U a lot =]

So wasteful. I don't get why you would buy consoles when shit-all interests you.

It's a good thing I play video games instead of party chat or storage space.

I'm not sure what you expected TC. While your system concerns are valid, Nintendo has made the Wii U a must own console with their software output.

Ah well, I also bought my Wii U late last year and I don't have any regrets. In comparison to the other next gen consoles, tech wise it pales, sure.

The exclusives though, so far they are SUPERIOR to the exclusives on both the other consoles.

The only things that really piss me off about Wii U is their account system and the Virtual Console library or lack thereof.
