Well, some of you may remember that earlier this year I had to sell my Wii because of some monetary problems....later I got a new one as a gift.
Even though I did the whole "transfer account" option in the menus (in the original Wii), I found that on my new Wii I couldn't download back my original 3 VC games I had: Super Mario 64, Wario Woods and The Legend of Zelda.
Back then I contacted them by email though their answer was rather ambiguos.
A few days ago I decided to send another email to them, because that was around 3 months ago, thinking that I could get another kind of response, point of view or if it was a mistake...
Turned out that this email was even more exact in the whole, "you can't get your VC games back, you need to buy them again"...
Here's the email I got from them:
Although we would like to assist you, Virtual Console games and applications are not transferable, so just because you have registered a specific system online and you purchased Virtual Console games on one system, doesn't mean that you can have them on any system you own in the future. The only way that the data can be transferred is if the system needed to be repaired, and was sent in to Nintendo for the repair. In that case, Nintendo can make an exception and transfer the data for you.
However, since you sold the system, there is no way for the data to be transferred. Unfortunately, you will need to purchase the games you want again. Sorry.
So, does that mean that in Wii-Too (hehehe) ....we all need to send our Wii consoles to Nintendo, along with our new consoles, so we can get our games that we bought back again, becuse of some ..laziness in Nintendo's part in creating a better structured system that at least recognized that you bought that game in the first place????
Geez...
I love them, but they need to solve this whole issue..
I only miss Super Mario 64 and I spent "just" $20 in those 3 games...so no big deal...
But there are many out there with over 40 games, that they are going to lose in the next console??
