No Man's Sky Spoiler Thread

They are literally planet sized. Most are about the actual size of Earth.

Did anyone see if you could switch the measurements and temperature to Imperial and Fahrenheit?
Sean Said in the playstation access hands on video that you could change it to fahrenheit.

I like the fact that aliens speak actual alien languages, that is you actually have to learn how to speak and talk the alien language word by word. I can already see the community teaming up to categorize these languages.

So, I haven't really been paying attention, but how is the game so far for people who have been watching the leaks/streams? Is it living up to (realistic) expecations?

Realistic expectations - yes.

Although it's buggy and potentially unbalanced and definitely needs a patch.

I wonder if seans "it gets weirder the further you go" meant galaxies and not planets. Maybe...maybe theres something at the end of the galaxies!

I Don't know man, I posted this earlier in response to someone else...

Nothing changed. It will take you hundreds of hours to get to the centre of the universe.

That is quite the understatement...

Now I am not good at the maths and could end up embarrassing myself here so I'm going to write this as if I where 5 lol...

It is known that there are 18 quintillion planets in the game.

Lets say that the galaxies are indeed in a straight line as you say.

Lets say there are roughly 10 billion planets per galaxy.

18 quintillion divided by 10 billion = 180,000,000

So, 180 million separate galaxies.

It took the leaker about 35 hours to get to the center of the first galaxy.

Lets say he spent about 5 hours of that upgrading and exploring and just call it an even 30 hours to get to the center. Especially since he said he was rushing through We can then use this to estimate the time it would take to rush through the rest of the galaxies.

We then have 180,000,000 galaxies to get through at 30 hours each.

So, 180,000,000 divided by 30 = 5,400,000,000

That's 5.4 billion hours.

There are on average 8,766 hours in a year.

So 5.4 billion divided by 8766 = 616,016 years...

My question to you would then be how many years do you have to play for things to start getting weird?

EDIT: Fixed hopefully.

Nothing too crazy that he's done quite yet, but he did manage to get off the 1st planet. Transition from planet to space was seamless, and it is crazy just how big the planets look.

Back up again.

They should just let people stream this. The streams sell this game, the weird community around it kills it.

They should allow it, or at least a few days before release. The game is so big its not as if major spoilers can be show in just a few days right?

I still wonder if they're banking on a lot of the "mystery" and surprises they've alluded to. Not saying it's not there, but if there isn't a Fez level of craziness underneath what we're seeing, they're going to look deceptive.

I meant because the leaker stated he had life on every planet.

There was life - those mushroom things. But he said animals on every planet, and that's not the case.

Maybe they changed the barren/life ratio or something - but there aren't animals on every planet. Or if they were they were hiding really well.

Someone just flew by him but only one other person has the game?

I guess this is supposed to be a point where you think it's multiplayer and people fly by you near spaceships.
