No Man's Sky Spoiler Thread

I might be wrong, but I noticed one thing in the stream: he put a Shielding Shard near his hazard protection in the suit menu, and the protection barely decreased even @ -50*C

Kenji doesn't understand most plants have carbon when you shoot them, and keeps abandoning carbon cues! He'll figure it out

Oh I know, which is why I don't bother with reviews anymore. TW3 is one of the most highly regarded games ever, I cannot play it for more than 10 hours without getting bored. I'm on my 4th attempt now, on PC this time and I still can't. Mad Max on the other hand I adored and it was one of the most interesting open world third person games I've played in recent times.

Haha damn. Get out of my head!

Lots of crabs on the planet, but with a bunch of subspecies. I guess that makes sense! Common ancestry each planet would mean a lot of similar ish creatures

Had a chat with someone in another thread about this.

Imo R3 is away better place for run. You'll never accidentally start sprinting when you push forward and will be able to stop sprinting whenever you want (I always have to stop and start when it's on l3)
I don't think there's ever been an instance where I accidentally started sprinting by pressing the L3 button, which is the standard sprint button for a very clear reason in first person games because it's also the control for general movement.

DAMN 7 minute walk to Starship.... you can really get yourself out in the fucking boonies if you want to here.

The only thing that makes me sad about what we've seen so far is the sense of personal peril and danger seems to be largely missing. That's something I was really hoping would shine through in this game, and it seems to have all but vanished.

No PC version footage out yet? I would spend the extra $10 on Steam instead of PS4 if it'll look significantly better.

I think any PC retail version is just gonna be a Steam code so it can't be played early on PC.

I gotta say, either Sony is really dropping the ball here, or streams have been unofficially semi-sanctioned. None of the streams have been abrupt shut down so far.

Yeah, that is what makes The Long Dark really shine but maybe this gets harder later in the game in other galaxies.

People have spoilered what's at the center of the galaxy, but the Imgur link to the image appear to be broken now. Anyone know of another location of the picture of the end of game spoiler? Thanks!

So watching the streams and noticing something, does this game keep a creature gallery of everything you've scanned? That would be pretty awesome to be able to show someone something crazy you saw like 20 planets back.

Yep. And if you're the first to scan, you get to name it and get credits for the discovery. Some discoveries giving you more than others

This is the first time i see moons, nice!

It's super cool that the thrusters aren't "scripted" - for example, he briefly engaged the thrusters then stopped them and dipped back in to the atmopshere. I was worried they would just be like a "teleport to space" button that engages a scripted transition out of the planet's atmosphere.

Yeah, there is absolutely no danger unless you throw yourself out of a cliff. This is really disappointing so far.

We still have to see what happens if you don't recharge your suit. But since resource are plentiful, at least in these planets, I don't think that's going to happen.

My biggest fear is that the PC version is barely better than the PS4 version. I know Sony is a big part of the development of this game but jesus christ not even a one minute long footage? Not buying the game until i can see PC gameplay, and i'm already preparing myself to be disappointed.

I'm really enjoying the vast majority of interesting weird creatures I'm seeing. I don't even know how some of them could get weirder

Me too. There were some creepy crazy tentacle...things already in that last moon. I dont know if some people were expecting to bump on a Covenant Dropship, but what Im seeing is already alien enough

Haven't only been sporadically checking in to the stream. Have they come across some NPC races other than the Korvax? Was hoping to catch a glimpse of the bird-like NPC race I had heard about...

We're seeing some pretty diverse planets too, tonight.

We went from desert-like to radioactive wasteland to rocky mushroom kingdom. Structures too were very different from each other (plains, cave, underground lakes, canyons,...). I want to see some huge mountains.

I just realised, even if the universe was a shit ton smaller, a lot of planets we name are never going to be discovered anyway because we start on the outside and go in. Unless people want to start flying around the outside of the galaxies instead of closer to the centre, no-one going to see anything.

Now, I haven't watched any streams yet, don't want to be spoiled too much, but are every planet still teaming with life like the first leaker said or are there planets that are completely barren?

Don't know to be honest, but I've seen multiple helmets. A Daft Punk looking one and a round one.

Have not seen anything lifeless yet - but some planets have a LOT of life vs the regular amount

I haven't done it for a few years - since the controllers got better.

My girlfriend has done it quite a few times playing 7 Days to Die, though. And stamina management is important in that game so it's led to a few deaths.

Either way, it completely avoids any ambiguity. It's a solid design decision imo.
