never the less. You have to admit that Trucy is a pretty sweet character design. Very cute, and no doubt the fact that she is a magician will come into play somewhere in the game.

Awesome. Pure awesome. A far better sequel than Justice for All (although the last case in that one is a classic). Pure fan service that made me extremely giddy. Some obtuse logic to solve some of the problems, though, especially case 5 (I didn't have as much trouble on Case 4, for some reason).

I loved this game. Godot was the best character of the series so far, and the courtroom and psyche-lock logic was probably the best of the series. If I had to rank them, I would put PW3 as the best of the trio.

Fixed.

Also, on my fourth playthrough in Episode 3.

If I had the choice to kill any two characters in the series, it would be Oldbag and Maya in that order. Urgh. Followed shortly by Phoenix. There's a reason the first trial day of case 5 is the best moment of the entire series:
YOU'RE ACTUALLY PLAYING AS A LAWYER WHO KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK HE'S DOING AND ISN'T BOGGED DOWN BY INANE INNER RABLING
.

I don't know if someone asked about this already but, is the Japanese version's English script different from the one in the NA release?

I get the feeling that they Americanized a lot of things. The game doesn't really take place in the US, does it? Does Maya love hamburgers and not something else like maybe ramen? Do they really have roast with mashed potatoes and gravy at the temple?

one of the few times where i don't really give a shit. localization was well done.

But Oldbag was hilarious. She was like a mini-boss of Episode 1.3 and 2.4.

Some kid was playing Phoenix Wright in my calculus class. This guy never pays attention to the lectures and never takes notes. I always wonder why he even bothers to show up to class, we know when all the quiz and test dates are.. so he would only need to show up on those dates.

I suspect this person to be a GAF member, since I bet most of the people who even know about the PH series are probably members here. He seems like the kind of guy who would be addicted to some sort of online game and is shy around girls.

Orignally the game takes place in Japan. Maya & Phoenix go out for noodles instead of hamburgers (a character in AA4 is actually based on this appearance wise, so I'm wondering how Capcom USA is going to handle that) and Maya had curry at the temple.

There are some other changes from past games also; Franziska actually studied in the U.S. instead of Germany. The car Ini drove was an American car, not European. And the Thinking Man Clock time contradiction from the very first case was altered to fit the time zones. There a bunch of small things too, not to mention all the western pop culture jokes.

Edit: Ah, I read Oni Link 666's post incorrectly. I was referring to the changes from the original Japanese script to the English script.

My apologies.

Im pretty sure the milkshake joke wouldnt be in the 3rd one.

I was surpirsed at the amount of localization Capcom did for the game it was pretty good

Sorry if it's already been debated bit, what's wrong with Canadians?:lol

he is canadian, he says "aboot" and "eh?"

also I played the japanese english game and they did eat mash and gravy at the temple, and gumshoe made maggey weenies and rice in a lunchbox. gumshoe would constantly talk about living off pasta, ramen and instant noodles too.

edit:
and here is winston payne trying to besmirch my name by stating;

no its not! its the flag of the united kingdom. The english flag is the St Georges cross.

Just getting around to catching up with this game. I played the fan-translated Case 1 back when Justice For All came out, and I've been waiting a long time to get the rest.

On Case 3 now. When Godot showed up and said "This is without doubt...The worst coffee I have ever tasted, Mr. Armstrong." I was like "OHSNAP".

Godot is a lot better than I expected. He is super cool. I think he may even be the best prosecutor character since good old Manfred. No prosecutor has quite matched up to when you first get in the courtroom and realize that Manfred is a terrifying bitch who will object every time you press. One of my biggest gripes about Justice For All was that Franziska just couldn't match up to her father's legacy.

just started case 3. Godot is great, I love his character. In honor of godot, I sketched up this pic!

"You wouldn't stand between a man and his coffee, would you Mr. Trite!?"

I am not saying that Trucy is a bad character design by any sense of the word. Hell, I liked her for the sole reason that she had such a great character design. I was merely pointing out that the people hoping more "reasonable" trials and court cases needs to get into a new series because the 4th game is just as mystical and strange as the other games.

Not that I would personally bitch about it since it is why I LIKE the game so much.

heh, yeah I love the offbeat characters and situations, a magician isn't any more feasible. How were the cases in 4?

yeah, but it is sloppy and not very polished heh. Thanks for the compliments =)

Just finished Phoenix Wright 3 yesterday - was the first PW game I'd ever played. I'm currently ordering PW2 and searching for PW1. Very excellent game. :)

Just started Case 5. I was really surprised at how short an uncomplicated Case 4 was.

I knew it. I wasn't the only one. Case 4 was waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy easier then the first 3. Only when that prison guy took the stand did I mess up....that's it.

I just don't have the attention span right now to continue through the game. From what I've played so far, it seems easier than the second one though.

I'm about halfway through the first game in the series. Guess I'm a little LTTP...
FYI, case 5 of game 1 is longer than the four other cases combined. So if you're only up to case 3 or such, you've got a LONG way to go.

Finished PW3 a few hours ago, definitely a fitting ending to Phoenix's storyline. I'll agree with some other people about the case being easy, but I enjoyed it.

Getting to play as Edgeworth was the best highlights of any PW case. To be honest, he has a much better standing than Phoenix. :lol Also I dunno why, but i kept anticipating a rather sad ending, thank god it didn't go in that direction.

I just wish they hadn't reused so much of the music, that's my only bother really. Though the bit at the end of Case 5 gave me goosebumps.

GS4 better not disappoint. :(

I just got to Case 4.

HOLY SHIT!!!

I was hoping for
Manfred von Karma as prosecutor, but Edgeworth is certainly a pleasant surprise! Mia vs Edgeworth...freaking awesome
!

I received PW3 saturday, and started playing yesterday evening. After finishing case 1, I looked at the time : 3AM... Work is hard today. :(

Case 5. I cannot believe they just used this line, omg :lol :lol :lol
Wow, this lady makes Maya look like a 6.8/10 on the weirdness scale

Sorry if mentioned before, I'm not reading this thread thoroughly until I finish the game.

I'm on Case 5 too now. Playing as
Edgeworth
. This is too cool. I actually feel smarter.

I'm kinda intrigued by this game but I haven't played any of the trilogy.

Will I get more enjoyment from playing the series chronologically?

Yes yes and yes. Play from start to finish. You wont get some of the stuff that happens in game 2 and 3 if you dont start at the first one.

Alright, cool. Thanks, man. I'll be adding the first one to my x-mas list. :)

I wonder if it's hard to find import copies of the best price DS edition of the first one. that's a good route for getting the english version of the first game, since it's the same localization.

Anyway, I got my PW3 last friday, but I'm waiting on it. I think I might binge on the entire trilogy over thanksgiving. I haven't played the second one since it first came out, and same with the first one.

The first game is only $20 now I think. So he wouldn't really save anything.

I'm sure that this joke was mentioned earlier in this thread, but omg,
when they have Godot and his three red lights, and then he's all "Things break, Trite"
I was laughing my ass off. The people who do translation must read NeoGAF or something. :lol
