No one playing Phoenix Wright 3?

Just finished the game. Awesome! This has got to be the best new game series for me this decade. I love how they handle each game, they sit well on there own, but all three tie together into a great story. Case 5 was a total fangasm and
playing as Edgeworth was hilariously awesome. I expected Wirght and Edgeworth to setup a "Wright Edge" Defence Co. in the end :lol. Even better was Gumshoe stepping into Maya's role, and saying the exact same stupid stuff. Not a big van of F von Karma, though. Seems they just brought her back for the sake of inviting everyone to the wrap-up party

It was kindof sad knowing this would be the last game with Phoenix, but at the same time all of these characters have been in court so many times already. I hate when a series drags until it dies, so I look forward to the changes in PW4. Whenever I finish these games, though, I always wish there was just one more case :(

Case 5. I cannot believe they just used this line, omg :lol :lol :lol
Wow, this lady makes Maya look like a 6.8/10 on the weirdness scale

Yeah I picked up on this too. And the Spoony Bard reference was also great. The translator obviously posts here, step forward!

Also, does anyone have Godot's cell phone ring tone?

Yeah, Capcom has STILL not shipped copies out to preorders, figure that one out. I finally just canceled the order (if they even manage to do that right) and ranted on their boards. They seem to want to believe that they're having a hard time fulfilling stock, because it's not like you can't just walk into any store and buy it the past four weeks. And all the Gamestops in my area have used copies. I mean seriously, as a company, how do you fuck up THAT bad? And supposedly their VP of marketing or whatever is personally involved, which makes it even sadder that they haven't been able to fulfill what, maybe a couple hundred preorders in over a month? :lol

I just unlocked case 5. Can't wait to play it. I've been shifting between this and FE: RD, but I'm looking forward to this case. Case 4 was pretty damn awesome though -- and it had no investigation (yeah!)!

I'm on case 2...The pop culture references so far are pretty bad, the dialogue in the first game is by far the best in the series....The new testimony jingle is pretty damn good, but overall the first game had better music throughout. The new prosecutor doesnt have a great personality either. his coffee thing is a bit lame. von karma jr's whip thing was much better. his gestures also arent as good as the three main prosecutors from past games.

the cases so far a pretty good, the twist in the 2nd one caught me off guard. you ppl have been saying this is the best in the series,so hopefully it is. unlike a lot of ppl,i actually really enjoyed all the cases in #2. while it wasnt as good at the 1st one,it certainly wasnt as bad as ppl make it out to be.

What. Godot is awesome. Much better than Franziska.

Just finished Case 5 Wow what an ending! This is definately the best in the series!

Seemed to me that someone on the localization team had an axe to grind with Microsoft though ( Bluescreens corp' "Three red lights" "Well things break Trite!" freaking hilarious :lol)

You can tell that it was meant to be a trilogy though with how everything is so neatly tied up Also Godot rocks!

Thanks much!

I really enjoyed the cases in this one. The only one I didn't like was the 1st one:
Phoenix was such a wuss and Gossberg was creepy

I thought case 2 was great. good characters and plot. I like that it wasn't strictly a murder case. I had some problems with presenting the right stuff at the right time on this one, though, even though I had it pretty well figured out very early. It was probably the most frusterating case in the series for me

Case 3 I think was my favorite. I love the ver the top characters, especially the villian in this one. The whole premis with the "fake" was a great way to start, and this one had some great stuff to figure out, especially towards the first half.

Case 4 was also really good. I like them throwing a case with no investigation in the middle. Investigation can be fun because of the comments, but it's also slow and tedious compared to the court room scenes. I liked that case 4 was a breeze, and of course the returning characters were a huge draw

Case 5 was a really great ending, lots of set peices and character moments made for great surprises. It wasn't much of a puzzle, though. Like the final case in AJF, I sort of felt like I was just there for the ride. For example,
I had lots of stuff figured out that Dhalia Hawthorne just stood there and rattled off during her testimony. I was mad I didn't have to so much to prove any of it.
It was still a great case, though, easily one of the best in the series. Some of the moments
Phoenix falling off the Bridge, Edgeworth working defense, Fransiska and Gumshoe acting in Maya's role
, where just too good. This is a game I will remember

Overall, TAT blows AJF out of the water for me, but i think I like AA the best. A lot of it has to do with the prosecuters. Edgeworth is just too good. I liked Godot, towards the end, especially, but in case 4
Edgeworth stole the scene as the baddy
. AA's focus on Edgeworth, plus the awesome von Karma case are hard to beat. AJF had Fransiska, but she really never came off as more than a brat to me. Add to that the fact that in the final AJF case
she had almost no part
and I think that killed her character, as well as the whole game for me a bit. Plus, the interesting part of AJF's finale
Edgeworth helping Wright
, was kind of ruined by AA's extra 5th case

I just finished this Thanksgiving night. What an awesome game and series. Many of the twists are very predictable but the drama itself is just excellent. I have to say the climax of case 4 is my favorite part of the series and now one of my favorite moments in gaming history.

AJF = All Justice For
JFA = Justice For All

Finally freakin finished. Took longer than I thought but all the better for it! The killer for case 5, didn't see that one coming! Even though there are clues, and it was by no means a cop out, I was still shocked to find out that
you know who
was the killer. I have to admit that
he
did a good job of defending
himself
the entire time being accused of murder. It's insane how complicated that case was, given that it also tied directly into like what, 3 or 4 other cases? The writing was brilliant. Cheesy moments included
Iris being Wright's real lover
and
Godot's self pity thing along with Wright's "you're not such a bad guy" thing
although that was there to explain some things. Godot is a great character, and the way they introduced him and fit him into the puzzle was genius. Not from a technical writing standpoint, but from a characteristic one. This was definitely the best case in the series! It just sucks that most of these long standing characters and their great histories will be lost in the new series. Hopefully AJ will develop such great characters over time, but I don't think this cast can be topped.

I've kind of been bouncing through the Zack and Wiki thread and this one complaining about by pre-order with Capcom. Well, yesterday it FINALLY shipped. Only more than a full MONTH after I ordered them. Hopefully the damn PW plush was worth the wait.

Just completed it one minute ago. Really incredible game. It's amazing how simple sprites can grow on you during the course of three days. I was seriously touched after the third game was done.

I hope Capcom can recreate the same vibe with Apollo Justice, but it'll probably take a while (say, three games?) to come close to the impact the PW series has had on me.

I'm still holding out for the original cast to come back. It's possible right? Some game or games that takes place in between 3 and Apollo Justice........it can happen.

Is the PW series further proof that better graphics are not necessary for immersion? The game was barely animated yet so many people here were entirely sucked into its world and characters' lives.

I'm not trying to start a "new systems are evil" debate, I just find it interesting that so many designers are convinced that better textures and voice acting are what will make games immersive.

2D sprites rule though. Better sprites and animation will not lessen my immersion in any way.

I agree that 2D sprites rule. My point was more that better sprites won't add to your immersion as drastically as is often argued, if at all. I have read more stories of people crying during Planetfall than Final Fantasy anything.

Oh my god, I can't believe I just read this in a videogame (again): "I guess he's just like any other man with his pile of secrets."

And that minutes earlier than that: "I'm more savage than a macho man."

I love these games.

this shouldn't be surprising. Books are still probably the most immersive form of media anyway, and I don't mean books with pictures.

Finally beat the game, but I'm really gonna miss the characters.

And I was wondering if anyone had any or all of the following?
a) Phoenix Wright wallpaper: preferably featuring all main characters throughout the games
b) Steel Samurai ringtone
c) PW MSN emoticons

Thanks in advance!

Finished it yesterday night. Really fantastic. I'm gonna miss all the characters, but I'll give Apollo Justice a shot.

My absolute favourite moment of the series was in Case 4 of JFA.
The Matt Engarde "reveal" was chillingly good, and that's when the Search ~ Core 2002 song first was played. I'd had my suspicions about Matt Engarde earlier, and when he finally revealed himself, with his scar and his supremely evil smile, I got chills for real. I actually said out loud "Damn, this is a great game." to myself.

I bought this over a month ago and still haven't played it. maybe I'm a horrible person, but I'm saving it until after finals. then I'm going to play through the entire trilogy, with the third game being new!

I absolutely agree, and I've been struck by that since the first game. Damn, so much awesome characters, such an intense atmosphere, and yet every one of them only has like 4 or 5 sprites to them, and half the gifs you can find on the internet have more frames per seconds. So much awesome tunes, and yet only midi musics.

And this is one of the most immersive games I've ever played. That's all kinds of confusing.

Don't forget, that this game are originally released on GBA, and are limited to GBA capabilities.

I hope Gyakuten Saiban 4 on DS have much better animation and music. Anyone played the Japanese version ?

I'm super excited for Ace Attorney 4, but I really wish they would have kept Phoenix Wright
(as the main character)
if no one else.

Finishing AA4 will be sad though. Who knows how long it will be until the fifth game. :(

If the Japanese can wait 2-3 years between 2, 3, and 4 I am sure we can also do the same.

Well, about 2 months after I preordered from Crapcom, and over 1 months since receiving the plush preorder bonus, I FINALLY got my copy of the game today.

Fuck me.

So I'm making a PW game for my VB6 final project (2ed year at programing). Don't expect a AAA game, but I will put everything I have into this.

Add me as a big fan of PW.

I bought a DS for this game! Still playing through the first PW and I fucking love it. Too bad they
killed Phoenix's boss right when you get to see how cool she is. Plus she has big boobies. :lol

Anyone think the Harvey Birdman will be good for the Wii?

You are not the only one, I saw the Trailer for the original game in E3 2005 and I thought to myself "I must get this game." Then when it came out in October 2005 I bought it along with Trauma Center and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow since all 3 came within two weeks of each other.

I didn't have a DS so I basically borrowed my Cousins DS until I got my own in Christmas.

:D
