Nice work Verizon.

Or Nokia is reserving the cyan for their lower priced WiFi only model.

Would be a strange decision.

Qualcomm just fired shots at the Surface 2 saying the Lumia 2520 destroys it in every way.

I'm interested to see what the comparison benchmarks are going to be. If they had a non LTE 64GB version it'd be really interested. My Surface 2 is amazing though with insane performance.

No proper windows, no buy.
RT should just be killed already, especially now that you got proper windows 8 tablets coming out like the Dell Venue Pro 8 for only 299 USD.

Not only does the Dell Venue Pro 8 feature a stunning 8'' capacitive screen with active stylus support, but it has the same featureset as larger tablets - including the next generation of Intel Atom quad-core processing technology.
What is this.
I don't get why this has to run legacy apps? Sorry, I didn't realise the iPad ran OSX.

the argument is that intel now has chips that are as cheap as ARM and devices like the Lumia 2520 should have gone intel for the added benefit of being able to run legacy apps.

basically intel fucked shit up for ARM and MS. RT devices are now competing with cheap full windows devices. yes RT is more secure but MS now has a tough sell on their hands. consumers are now focused on what RT "can't" do rather than it's advantages.

Intel processors still produce way more heat and also consume a lot more power, it's not at the point yet where ARM is obsolete.

What are these devices? The new dell tablets? We don't even know the battery life on those. And they pretty much fail at running desktop apps anyways so what's the point?

I know that, problem is consumers won't be looking at a few hours of extra battery life, fan less hardware, lighter/thinner device, all they read and hear is the shit RT can't do.

Looks like Windows RT is going to kick off. Are Dell, HP and Compaq making Windows RT tablets? Once they get the apps, I don't get why this shouldn't have the right to compete with iPads and Android tablets. What gives? Looks like a stellar device.

Many of them made RT tablets and got massively burned last year so they dumped it. MS is the only one making RT devices and Nokia which will soon be MS.

They're all going for full fat Windows 8 on tablets. It and RT share the same apps from the Store.

You know how many years I have been hearing this about Intel GPUs?

Look at the leaps they made from Sandy Bridge to Ivy to Haswell, it'll happen with mobile too. They will dominate, Intel's whole focus now is on GPU and power consumption.

What they have in Bay Trail atm isn't exactly bad by any means, it's around about iPad 4 PowerVR SGX 554MP4 levels.

I would argue that the browser version of an app on Windows RT is a better experience than an app on a competing OS. So missing apps is not really a problem.

What is missing? Games? There are games.

The Windows 8 app store has pretty much everything you need. The mobile IE is the best mobile browser out there.

MS virals out in force.

I better not see you in any Android thread talking up apps when iOS exists then.

Lol what?

I just wanted to quote the absurdity of "Games? There are games." It's such a comical statement.

Same thing as "Mobile IE is the best browser." Best by what measure?

I can't even parse "pinned browser shortcut in RT is better than a dedicated iOS/Android app." That statement can't be serious.

MS doesn't care. They sell a copy of Windows either way. RT was a backup plan in case Intel doesn't get their act together on power. And it's a option for people that don't want a full PC and all the problems that come with that.

so black for ATT and Red for Verizon...will this end up being only sold through cellular providers? Shit would suck...I want the Cyan one.

Looks like this is coming out on the 22nd

Too bad the lack of a cyan version for the US has totally killed my interest...

Why on earth would anyone buy an RT tablet now that Bay Trail is a thing? You can get tablets that smoke the Surface 2 for less than $500.

Kind of baffling decision to go with RT with Baytrail out there for less...the hardware seems nice otherwise...but I just can't justify the limitations when there are full windows tablets out the for cheaper.

I swear if more people used RT they would realize.. "oh.. I dont actually need full windows on a tablet"

Legacy windows on a tablet is painfulllllll. There is a reason tablets didn't take off until iOS.

Rise from your grave!

I just picked up one of these for $99 from at&t. I really liked the idea of a totally mobile tablet and this price was hard to beat.

Now I need to get rid of my Dell Venue 8 Pro...
