What does piss me off is them not releasing the new images. Enough of this secretive BS SE. Versus XIII is not a fucking secret. We all know about it. Releasing new media keeps fans interested, and the response to this game so far has been overwhelmingly positive.
Happy to hear about the Italian inspired cities and that the day/night cycle will operate within towns too. Don't care about taking pictures.
That would be a sad future for JRPGs.RurouniZel said:Long live Level-5 and Gust!
ymmv said:Square Enix developed games per platform (2006-2011):
DS: 14
PSP: 9
PS2: 5 (includes both FFXII and FFXII International)
Wii: 4
360: 3 (if XIII-2 is released this year)
PS3: 2 (if XIII-2 is released this year)
PC: 2
So a platform that's been comatose if not dead for a couple of years now in the west (PSP) gets just as many games as Wii/PS3/360 put together. Equally surprising, this generation is now 5 1/2 years old and yet SE has only developed/released 3 HD titles: Last Remnant (PC/360), FF 13 (PS3/360) and FF 14 (PC only so far). What a pisspoor performance.

It sort of defeats the purpose of having a designated KH team if they're going to operate this way. I mean, we are still waiting on KH3. S-E have to resort to side games from the Osaka team to keep the brand alive. Don't you find that just a little bit ridiculous?
I don't get the obsession with KH3 either. Are people that interested in the story and visiting the same disney "worlds" over and over again?ScionOfTheRisingSun said:Look, SE had some management issues this gen. Their Crystal Tools engine was not in any serviceable state until sometime in 2008, and when it was they had to scramble all hands, including the Versus team to make up for lost time and get XIII out of the door first. After that development on Versus got started.
Putting a team that has nothing to do because they have no engine to work with to work on other projects in the meantime is a sane use of resources because it beats having them sit in front of a desk twiddling their thumbs.
I like KH as much as the next guy, but I don't get this obsession with the one with the number 3 at the end of it when there have been so many Kingdom Hearts games released since the second one anyway. Also, since Versus features similar gameplay mechanics but at the same time looks several orders of magnitude better than any KH game ever did I like to think Versus takes the place of the next game.
Versus is going to see release next year, I am certain of. Wait for that and put KH3 out of your mind, with the state of things there is absolutely nothing SE could have done with the team to have had a KH3 game out on home consoles by now short of cancelling Versus and you know what I much rather prefer things as they are.
You'll be lucky if you get a new screenshot next year lol.ScionOfTheRisingSun said:Versus is going to see release next year,

If Versus sees release in 2012 you must castrate yourself and mail the amputation to me by express courrier for my collection.

Really. You think for the next mainline KH they're gonna put the same worlds in? It'll be all new characters from both FF AND Disney. There's so much potential now given all the new movies and games that have came out since.H_Prestige said:I don't get the obsession with KH3 either. Jarmel said:Holy fuck, I'm dying over here. I trying so hard not to laugh in class. This shit is a joke. The new Duke Nukem indeed. They seriously should just make this a PS4 title and let everyone's expectations die.

The story isn't so bad, I like the characters well enough to enjoy it.

You may jest, but it would be fun as a sort of racing minigame where you can slash other cars with your keyblade. Also Toy Story.Gravijah said:I can't wait to visit the world of Cars.

Heh.lightless_shado said:That's not the case.I'm positive they're just waiting for MS to offer enough cash, then at E3 2012 or 2013, Nomura will walk out on stage himself and announce the game for the 360, complete with videos, screen shots, and a playable demo running live on the system. The days of third party exclusives are pretty much over.
MS and Sony realize this and that's why they're investing so much money into their first party studios.
Vamphuntr said:Can't believe Wada tolerates stuff like that. It's been 5-6 years and it's still in pre-production? No wonder SE can't work on other franchises when a project like that occupies one of their team for so long.
