haha, I wonder if it started development as a Japanese Xbox game and then got lost and wound up as a simple series game.

Either that or when making it they seriously forgot what the buttons on the controller look like ^^;

Haha, I knew I reconized those screens.

It's an AWFUL game with totally busted controls and handling, so it'll fit into the Simple Series perfectly.

Road Rash is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade next year from EA.

Downhill Domination on the PS2 did a decent homage to Road Rash a couple of years ago. Much better game too, by the looks of what's being discussed here.
