Otoh you have a $60 recent AAA, which code you could re-sell if you don't want it for still more than $19...
Based on sales, it was obviously a good choice for Ms, just not understanding the appeal on the buyer side

to be fair, the game itself is only $19, but the additional content is worth money, too
you also get 2 mash-up packs and the windows 10 version of the game
the value is over $60 or even oven $100 if you would buy every skin separate

This should teach sony a lesson to concentrate on genres that appeal to the preferences of a healthy userbase, make real games and stop farting artsily.

alternatively, it could also be a lesson that they are also subject to the dangers of a rapidly shrinking userbase and they need to do more to appeal to a wider audience than make different versions of existing hardware and super expensive peripherals with limited appeal.

Another question I have is that retailers such as Best buy and Amazon have things such as gamers club and 20 percent off pre orders with prime. Is this something that MS and Sony can implement digitally or is that too much right now to do or Pubs wouldn't approve?

MS and Sony do not control pricing of 3rd party titles on the digital storefronts. Publishers manage their own pricing.

True, but MS and Sony could do 20% off on their digital shops since they take roughly 30%. But we all know why digital is more expensive - Retailers.
