I guess we'll have to put more than one dollar each.
By the way, does anyone know how much the subscription is?

Give me a break, they're only within 10% after they've modified the results to reflect NPD. Numerous months we've seen examples of them being upwards of 30-40% out before they "massage" their figures to fit reality.confuziz said:Not to give any credit to ioi, but by now we know they are not entirely made up (They are usually within 10% of NPD, would be pretty awesome if he guessed it right all year though, man should go to the casino then)
It means I can now pretend all SEGA games sold a million times more copies than Halo and there's absolutely no way to prove me wrong. MUAHAHAHAHAFunkyPajamas said:Is this the end? What does this mean?
Nirolak said:Of course NPD is giving numbers to their subscribers.
Why would they subscribe otherwise?

Well, I guess that's better than nothing.Monthly analysis from NPD industry analyst, Anita Frazier, will include software sales figures at both the sku and title level for various new releases

Now they will just get banned for using banned websites.Horns said:Bu...Bu...But how will anyone get banned in NPD threads now?
Easily. We can all insist we're right and there's not a damn thing anyone can do to prove anyone wrong, so we can all just keep on insisting. This is going to be great!xaosslug said:ehl oh ehl
how will we measure our console-peen nao? ;_;
Ayup. They have no direct competition. IIRC, PC Data was pissing them off many years ago so NPD gobbled them up. A lack of multiple sources is bad for everyone.sprsk said:NPD monopoly don't give a fuck.
Horns said:Bu...Bu...But how will anyone get banned in NPD threads now?
No, they're excited, because now they can make shit up without anyone being able to prove them wrong. "Halo sold 19 million in the first month" "oh yeah? well killzone 3 and uncharted 3 outsold the original super mario bro in their first ten minutes"Dr. Strangelove said:DEATH TO SALES AGE
I wonder how many fanboys are tying the noose as we speak?

The only people who have the real numbers are the platform holders and publishers. Everyone else is just using estimates.confuziz said:No, I save the figures in excel before the NPD ones comes out. And you are right about those months though, but lately it 'seems' they have been better. But perhaps it's just wise guessing.. who knows after all
But what are us small dick'd losers with no life to do?!PhoenixDark said:NPD has been pretty stale lately. You go in knowing either the Wii or 360 are winning. At least this means like dick measuring and living vicariously through multi billion dollar companies.

Exactly that. It doesn't make things better, it makes them so much worse (See, PS3 / 360 sold most in Europe argument).GarthVaderUK said:There's probably going to be more fanboy bickering over US sales now, as people try to analyse what little info is provided and interpret the monthly PR statements from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo through fanboy goggles.
