A Lansing mother was shocked after her two children were subjected to nude pictures on X-Box Live.

Michigan State Police say this disturbing crime should be a wake up call for parents.

Video games are meant to be a haven mostly targeted towards children but just like logging onto the Internet, state police say online games have become a magnet for sexual predators.

Detective Thomas Kish, Computer Crimes Unit: "Mom and dad don't ordinarily think that there's any danger in that and it is a potential danger and something that we all need to be concerned with."

Jennifer says her two sons were the latest victims to an Internet crime.

Thursday night while playing a game on X-Box Live, a video game that allows you to play against people anywhere in the world, they were exposed to nude pictures sent from someone on the other end.

Jennifer, Lansing Resident: "I immediately grabbed the X-Box controller from him, and I went ahead and turned it off. And then I went ahead and called X-Box live, and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. "

Jennifer now fears the safety of her children.

State police say a crime like this is exactly why parents should be aware of online video games.

Detective Thomas Kish: "X-Box Live in particular has video capability so you can see two-way video. It has the ability for text messaging, instant messaging back and fourth. The ability to receive voice messages, so it's as much of a medium as your home computer and parents need to really be aware of that."

And while Microsoft, the maker of X-Box, does give ways to deal with offensive players online, Jennifer says the damage to her children from this incident has already been done.

And she has banned her children from using X-Box Live to protect them from becoming prey to online predators.

you heard it here first!!!!

It doesn't matter what game it was, it could've just been a picture image sent over Live. Even so, it warns you that the image sent isn't from a friend.

THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITHOUT PICS!

Seriously though.... what do they expect?
Porn on the internet? No way?!?!

This is why I fucking ahte the human race sometimes. Sorry its just so infuriating to read shit like this. So shes fears for their safety now? Sexual predators are running amok raping our kids in vent servers now?

So some smart ass on their friends list sent a nude photo while drunk.

IF THE STUPID BITCH PAID MORE ATTENTION TO WHAT HER KIDS WERE DOING AND USED THE BUILT IN PARENTAL CONTROLS MAYBE THIS WOULDNT HAPPEN.

Oh, and I like how theres no mention at all of the the (IMO) great parental controls Microsoft include on the 360.

Fuck you humans.

Well, at least something postive came from this. The fewer kids on XBL, the better.

Aren't there privacy options that control who you can receive voice / video / text messages from (everyone / friends / nobody)? I'm guessing it's another parent who can't be bothered to RTFM.

The worst nude image I've seen was in Team Fortress 2... Someone sprayed an image where a chick bit of some dudes dick and there as blooed where.

Xbox Live seems harmless in comparison.

targeted towards kids? piss off.

Probably this guy. Flashed his nuts about 8 times.

Okay, why do people have no problem letting their kids play violent games but are so scared of nudity?

I was reading a GOW thread and one poster was so scared of letting his 12 year old brother see him playing the game because of some topless statue, but had no problem letting him see Kratos gut and behead people in the game. I am just wondering, why the hell is nudity a problem when violence isn't? Serious question here.

Yet her kids were probably the same ones calling me a "Nazi, jew, N-word etc" that sucks his own dong on COD4 the other week.
