The recipe can be found here.

I made it about an hour ago, it was delicious. It has more of a brownie texture to it, but still good nonetheless. I would recommend using a big mug/cup, as it might overflow.

I'm so trying this after I pick up some whipping cream.

And Nutella. I think my girlfriend ate the last of our jar today.

I tried making mug brownies/cupcakes/whatever a few times and they came out edible but very mediocre.

Still want to try this...

Somehow having the cake in a mug makes me a little nauseous. When ingredients are used to bake the cake I can at least justify in my mind that the fat and sugar is spread out through out. This is just oil, sugar, and fat in a cup. I'm sure it's delicious though.

SO uses this exact recipe and it's apparently too easy. If not for an astronomical amount of willpower she would have reached 600 lbs by now by eating these things at every moment of the day.

Apparently it's pretty good.

It's nutella, no need for "apparently."

The fact that this thing only takes like 5 minutes to make is what's impressive. Diabolical.

The work of the devil!

I have never tasted Nutella. WTF am I waiting for?

Nutella is amazing. I didn't try it until a few months ago. My ex loved the crap out of it.

So you're telling me I just mix these ingredients, put them in a microwave, and out comes a cake? This is brilliant.

Too bad I'm allergic to nuts, so no Nutella.
:(

How about 100 calories?

I was thinking the person was mistaken at first, but it works. I wouldn't exactly call it cake though.

That one also looks good. Gotta give it a go.

Fancy that. I made some chocolate porn worthy mug cakes the other day. Self-saucing puddings...

Your cakes look so neat. Mine didn't care what size container they were in, they just went nuts.

4 tablespoons self rising flour
4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons Nutella
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil

Ok, out of that, I only Nutella & milk & maybe the egg.
Where the hell would one get "self" rising flour?

It's quite common, but you can make your own with a cup of all purpose flour, 1.25 tablespoons of baking powder, and 1/4 tablespoon of salt. Anyway, I tried the recipe tonight (with only a splash of olive oil...the nutella has enough fat already). It turned out quite tasty but easily was enough to fill two of our largest mugs and feed 3 people.

Shit, if I had that type of skills I would be cooking meth.

I guess regular sugar & regular flour won't work?

I just made this but cut the sugar. to 1tlbs and it turned out great. I cannot believe how much this thing rises. I also added a pinch of baking powder. This is not a dessert for one it is more than a dessert for two. my mug is over 600ml and it still overflowed. this mixture could fit into two standard 400ml mugs without any problems for 450 calories per serve or make it a dessert for three peolple at 300 calories per serve and cook them in a brulee pot for better looks.

I will have another go at this to make it look nicer using three brulee pots. Whip your own cream. it makes a world of difference. top with a piece of strawberry to balance the flavour. for less than five minutes total work and a little bit of time waiting it is well worth it and a hit with any girl. well my gf liked it at least.

i feel so dirty after eating
it though.

At least you could put them on a friends floor and something and pretend it was a dog poo.

I'm not convinced about microwave cooking but since you've made it and all, does it taste good and cake-like?

Regular sugar is fine. That's what granulated white sugar is. But you could use any kind of sugar or none at all. It would just be less sweet. You only need to baking powder to make the all purpose flour rise (self rising already has a rising agent added).
