A frames per dollar assessment of current prices.
Is 1440p 100+ Hz even the standard now? >.>Question is, when will 4k 100hz+ monitors become the standard. Currently they cost twice the price of the gpu
Are 1440p 100+ Hz even the standard now? >.>
spot on guys
Anyone here bought the 2080/2080 ti?
I ordered the MSI 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio. ..But I was of course slapped in the face with the seven day delay today. Will get it the 27th.
damn that's annoying. which video card did you upgrade from?
Which is where SLI comes in.Overall, seems like the cards are not worth it unless you want 4k and as much fps as possible. But they don't even go at 100hz.
Which is where SLI comes in.
Bit insane to expect a single GPU to do 4K and 100 fps at this point in time.
Well the majority of games aren't AAA pushing modern system specs, I find most of those types of games use my 1080TI SLI just fine.I remember reading SLI are not worth it as very few games support it. Not sure from where but I wonder if it'll be the same case again.
honestly kinda seems like we're getting ahead of ourselves a bit with technology
i mean i love my gtx 1080 ti, but i prolly ain't gonna fork over cash for another card until the midline 3x series. a $200 geforce 4 used to kick all kinds of ass for several generations, seems kinda shameful where we're at re: pricing
There's also DLSSx2 with superior image quality. Will DLSS improve over time? I mean, they are still training the AI over at Nvidia, right?
Buys a 1080 ti, complains that prices are getting a bump.
Gosh i wonder why.
A 1080 ti for $400? I check slickdeals everyday and Im seriously having a hard time believing a 1080Ti went on sale that low. No way.i got my ti for $400 on amazon during a sale, i'm def not part of the problem
Don't trust any technology that has to be delivered via some supercomputer on the other side of the fence........For so long PC was where you went if you wanted native, non-upscaling resolutions and high framerates. Now certain reviewers want to impress upon you that a 1440p image is so impressive because of the added perf, they want to impress upon you that this is better than CB, when no realtime game exists displaying DLSS, when we have not even seen the improved reconstruction algorithms on NAVI etc....Yet, I can clearly see missing details and more visual noise in that infiltrator demo with DLSS over TAA...Will DLSS improve over time? You dont have a 1080 Ti then. The 1070 and 1080 werent released until Summer 2016. The Geforce 1080 Ti wasnt released until spring 2017.it went for 400 on amazon, dunno what to tell you. believe it was holiday 2015 when i got, around there.
You might want to check what card you got.it went for 400 on amazon, dunno what to tell you. believe it was holiday 2015 when i got, around there.

That's also my problem. DLSS sound great, but till now we only have set scenes and Nvidia has a long history of cheating in benchmarks. So getting DLSS to perform at its best in a predefined course seems easy for them. The real test comes with big AAA titles who are fast paced and have lots of different sceneries.Don't trust any technology that has to be delivered via some supercomputer on the other side of the fence........For so long PC was where you went if you wanted native, non-upscaling resolutions and high framerates. Now certain reviewers want to impress upon you that a 1440p image is so impressive because of the added perf, they want to impress upon you that this is better than CB, when no realtime game exists displaying DLSS, when we have not even seen the improved reconstruction algorithms on NAVI etc....Yet, I can clearly see missing details and more visual noise in that infiltrator demo with DLSS over TAA...
I saw a review show a 2080ti reach 80fps in a restricted demo with DLSS, no control of that demo whatsoever. Yet, comparing lower end cards vs the 2080ti at 1440p DLSS, just to show a huge markup.... Of course the 2080ti will perform exceedingly better, it's a worse rez and it's not as detailed......A 1080, 1080ti or even 2080 has less bandwidth than a 2080ti, to have the lesser cards at 4k with TAA and the 2080ti at 1440p DLSS is not ideal, it's disingenuous and frankly nobody envisions buying a $1200 to get framerates up that way, it should be eating 4k native alive.....
How in the world can you not differentiate from 9 months ago and 3 years ago?
DLSS looking kinda blurry in that FFXV demo. Wonder how it stacks up to checkerboard techniques and such.
First you're saying it was 2015 which was absolutely impossible and then you change your story to 2017, which means you're asking us to believe you can't tell the difference between almost 3 years ago and less than 10 months ago. I checked the pricing history and the price it's going for now is the cheapest it was ever been. There is absolutely no record of it ever being anywhere close to $400, especially at a time (Dec. 2017) when these cards prices were starting to creep up due to mining.maybe it was holiday 2017, it's def a 1080 ti guys lol

Prepare for ultimate trouble and frustrationKinda interesting to see 2x 2080ti's in sli. Wanna see the ultimate power.
You'd save a lot going to a 1080 TiIm going from a 1070 to either a 1080ti or 2080
So did 1080Ti.TIs are doing 4k at 60fps
TR demo was ran 1080p and didn't even have stable 60fps.I wonder how much of a performance impact you get doing RTX, you might not get the 4k/60fps experience.
So did 1080Ti.

Sorry dude, but you're either totally lying or need to get your head looked at for memory loss. The only thing remotely plausible is that you actually bought a 980 Ti in Dec. of 2015 or (2016)
If you look at the price history for this card, it wasn't on Amazon's store until April 2018.
i don't know what to tell you dudes. i bought that exact card off amazon for $400, why the fuck would i lie about it.
edit, just pulled it up and this was the info :

You'd save a lot going to a 1080 Ti
nope, it came out when i bought it, although i'm pretty sure it was released a number of months before. i've had it in my rig since that date, i'm staring at the box.
feel free to look at the customer reviews, they go back to february.
