Talk about Bonds having a great opportunity to showcase himself to his fans in the home run derby at the All-Star Game....

Bonds responds with "I don't worry about it."

****ing douchebag

TWO GAMES BITCHES

I can't wait until we get Alou, Endy, Duaner, Pedro, Oliver, Milledge, Gomez, and Sosa on the team again. Our team could probably... Maybe be better with these guys back.

:lol

If someone had told me this spring that we'd have:
-lost Chipper for a month
-have Smoltzie go on the DL
-Hudson be his usual ineffective self again
-Have Hampton miss the season AGAIN
-Have Cormier be a non-factor after such an impressive spring
-that Mark Redman would be signed to deal with these things, and would prove woefully ineffective
-Andruw would be hitting .211
-Mike Gonzalez would be lost due to elbow surgery

if they told me all that, and THEN told me we'd only be two games behind the Mets at the break I would have been ecstatic. Thank god the Mets have sucked lately.

Let's not act like the Mets haven't suffered a plethora of injuries this season. You guys aren't the only ones missing key players.

He didn't have it today, and he was facing a very hot team. These things happen.

This does sort of help the argument that Matsukaka folds against good offenses. Obviously, no one expects him to throw 8 innings of 1-run ball every start, and he's going to do good against good offenses (after all he did throw a CG against Detroit earlier in the year), but it's hard to ignore the fact that Matsukaka's recent dominant stretch has come against some of the more pitiful offenses of the league. Seattle was the only offense that was actually decent in that stretch, unless you count Tampa Bay, which I don't, because at the time they were playing like Tampa Bay.

Besides, in the end, Wang is better anyway :D

Mets have players who have missed much more time, not to mention even the guys replacing those players have then become injured. But so far the injury report may get better:

Moises Alou- Cleared to begin a rehab. The word from New York suggests that after Alou works out a bit, plays a few games in the minor leagues, it is realistic to expect his return to the Mets just after the All-Star break. (Yeah right)
Endy Chavez- During a conference call on June 27th, Chavez told reporters that he believes he will be ready to play again a week or so after the All-Star break.
Duaner Sanchez- Duaner Sanchez was placed on the 60-day disabled list yesterday to make room on the 40-man roster for Alomar. Sanchez recently picked up a baseball for the first time and still is a long way from returning.
Pedro Martinez- For those who were pumped to learn Pedro Martinez opted against a bullpen session and instead threw batting practice in Port St. Lucie on Tuesday, there's even better news. He didn't just throw fastballs as most rehabbing pitchers do. He used all of his pitches and felt good about them. "Pedro is getting everybody pretty excited with his progress," said Guy Conti, the bullpen coach and a Martinez confidant. "I think he might even be getting himself over-excited. I'm going to pull back the reins on that."

According to SNY's Kevin Burkhardt, he recently threw 50 pitches off the mound and felt great, ahead of schedule. He will now go into a pre-planned 7-10 day "rest" period for his arm. But definitely doing well and ahead of schedule.
Oliver Perez- Oliver Perez played catch in Florida. Perez is ahead of Sosa. He might get back in the rotation when the second half starts.
Lastings Milledge- Should be called up against the Reds this week..
Carlos Gomez- Out for the next two months, and barring a Milledge collapse will not be re-called.
Jorge Sosa- Sosa long-tossed yesterday and had today off. He is at least a week away but will rejoin rotation soon, but not before Perez.

Also since Williams has to clear waivers to be sent back down, Aaron Sele may be gone when Perez or Sosa comes back. The plan is that either Big Dave OR Sosa will become the new longman.

Ugh. There's no justice in the world.

I'm still waiting for your terms Frankman. Unless you want to pussy out, which would be okay. I sort of expect that from you.
Let it be known this is coming from a fan of a team with A-Rod on it, so you may not want to use the term "pussy out".

No, I'm waiting on Wellington actually. I pm'ed him in regards to the structure of posting restrictions onsite. If I get all positives I can set the bet up before the end of the ASG.

No kidding. I've never seen a ball (excluding that Richie Sexson ball off the flag pole) hit out in dead center. Howard hit on there the other day and he he said as he rounded first, "WHAT THE ****??"

It was funny. That catch was not.
Berkman has hit a HR to dead center. It landed in that patch of grass where Drayton McLane grows his wacky tobacky

Anyone else here lucky enough to pick up Ryan Braun (3B-Mil) for their Fantasy League? I snatched him up a few weeks ago and the guy has been absolutely DESTROYING.

That tarp thing was unreal. I saw video of it on ESPN last night and people were getting thrown around like rag dolls.

I wonder if Angels fans feel like its 1995 again yet.

And damn how I wish Dave Cameron was running the team:

The team’s line-up would have a different look to it with Adam Jones in it, and it needs a slight overhaul anyways. So, here are my proposed normal line-ups, with their OPS (as of Saturday, when I wrote this) vs LH/RH to the side.

Vs RHP:

1. Ichiro, CF, .860
2. Ibanez, RF, .819
3. Beltre, 3B, .800
4. Broussard, 1B, .808
5. Sexson, DH, .724
6. Johjima, C, .701
7. Lopez, 2B, .745
8. Jones, LF, (AAA - .938)
9. Betancourt, SS, .626

Vs LHP:

1. Ichiro, CF, .903
2. Betancourt, SS, .829
3. Guillen, RF, 1.117
4. Beltre, 3B, .817
5. Sexson, 1B, .730
6. Johjima, C, 1.094
7. Lopez, 2B, .648
8. Jones, LF, (AAA - .981)
9. Vidro, DH, .723

Yes please!

Bonds bats in the 1st inning because I doubt hes in the game long.

And why the **** is Chase batting 8th, what a slap in the face...switch him with Beltran. Thats alright, we gotta those pieces of shit after the break. Larussa can suck my dick

You work for the Jackals, right Kev? Can-Am teams are annoyingly ghetto. I'm trying to buy a Capitales hat and their site doesn't even have an official store. :lol

I feel I need to post this about Jose Reyes. Stolen from another forum.

Considering the era Reyes plays in, an era where stolen bases are way down and pitchers are much more schooled at holding runners on then they were before, as well as less of an emphasis on small ball and more on the HR, what Reyes has been able to accomplish this year stolen base wise is absolutely historic.

Jose Reyes 46 steals in the first half of this season give as many or more then 15 teams in baseball this season. Half of the sport. While his season total will fall short of a couple of monster seasons by guys like Rickey Henderson and Vince Coleman, what he is doing in relation to his era is possibly better then any of their seasons SB wise

When Henderson first stole 100 bases in 1980, he only surpassed 10 of the total 26 teams in the sport. Teams were stealing many more bases then. When he stole his record 130 in 1982, It was again, more then only 10 teams in the sport. Actually the entire national league set of teams (with the exception of just Philadelphia with 128) had more steals then Rickey

Jose Reyes has more steals then half of the teams in baseball right now. Think about that. I doubt theres ever been a guy possibly ever who you could say that about. I just pointed out the Rickey numbers.

14 stolen bases from now, Reyes will become the first player in the post-strike era to post 3 consecutive 60 SB seasons, and they all will come in his first 3 full seasons in the big leagues. Hes led the NL all 3 seasons, and led the majors for the past 2.

Sick.

oh yea the Yankee game I went to Saturday I was right near Vlad out in right field.

4 seats behind the front

All I did was try and talk to him. I kept asking him if he wanted to get drinks after the game.

At one point I was acting all gay and giggling while waving and shit. He looked at me and chuckled as if to say ****ing fatass with bitch tits trying to run my game down.

I kept asking him to keep balls inside the park. Luckily he did.

Hes a nice guy...though I dont think he liked me very much.
