jesus christ you honestly don't think USC had fans before Pete Carroll? Some of you are dense. Obviously they are more vocal when teams have success, but as i said before, that pretty much goes for every team in all of sports. You think most "Heat fans" in miami gave a shit about the team before Shaq got there? Its not exclusive to Los Angeles.

No kidding. I've always love the Detroit Tigers...but I stayed far away from the MLB threads for a loooong time becacuse I really didn't have much to get excited for or talk about.

Back on Topic

This game is so much more fun than the Spurs.

damn Smush makes Alston look like a star :lol

the bright side to getting our asses kicked out of the playoffs like this is that at least this year the front office won't be fooled into thinking this is a title contending team in need of just some minor tweaks. We need an overhaul. Lamar needs to go.

Your problem was getting rid of Jerry West. Mitch Kupchak's defining moment as a Laker GM was trading Shaquille O'Neal.

I like Turiaf.. Good player......

BTW.. it's funny when Charles complains about watching the highlights to games that they just watched.

That's where you're wrong.

It was giving away Caron Butler basically for free.

Pretty much. If Lamar and Caron played up to their potential in LA this could be a special team...but...yeah.

If Kwame played like a no. 1 pick this could be a special team =/

So I guess Phil has accepted the fact the Lakers are dead, No other reason for Smoosh to be playing so many minutes.

BRING BACK FARMAR!

the REAL problem was dumbass Jack Haley leaking that Boozer/Caron trade, causing Utah to back out after fan backlash. Thats the one "crazy Laker trade rumor" that was actually true and close to happening, and seeing the way Boozer is playing probably would have made us contenders.

Phil has been mailing it in since the All-Star break.

He is well aware that this little money grab as the Lakers head coach will in no tarnish his legacy.

That was awesome. Jack Haley breaking the news with ESPN analyst dreams in his eyes

Lamar for Rashard Lewis maybe?

Every team wants a healthy david lee

Lamar makes a lot of money, which means we'd have to take back one of (the many) Knick horrible contracts in return. David Lee is NOT worth having to take back Jamal Crawford or Stephon Marbury.

Nah, we need to keep Kobe, LO, Ronny and Farmar. EVERYONE else must go...

The thought of Crawford and Kobe in the same back court is hilarious.

I like it. Both can handle, penetrate and shoot....

EVERYONE else is garbage. Nobody is going to give us jack for them (other than Sexy). Lamar, perhaps in combination with Bynum as much as it pains me to say that, is our best shot at getting a consistent number 2 guy in return.

Hell, we're keeping Marbs after a good season last year. What about if Knicks give you the Shaq Stopper, Jerome James???

... okay I'm laughing now. But seriously what scorer/secondary star are you gonna pair up with Kobe? First you don't want Butler, then Kidd. Who fits?

If you're going to talk about bandwagon fans, the mavs have to be up there. Lot of people wear mavs apparel around, but they couldn't name one player on the team from the 90s.

Usually when teams suck for a long time, then have a period of brief success, you'll see a lot of bandwagon fans.

For teams like the Lakers who have been consistently decent every decade, you'll see a lot more diehard fans.

It's almost as bad as when Clipper Nation popped up everywhere after 1 appearance in the playoffs. =X

Jigga wha???? :)

Clipper nation will shed the weak fans this summer and roll into next season with Ron Artest in hand.

bynum ought to go -- kobe will be old by the time he's ready to contribute -- but he's jim buss's pet. he should've gone for jason kidd. he might be a great player one day. who knows. but you don't waste the prime of the best player in the league.

You know its a bad night for playoff bball when people start talking about the Knicks players.

What is up with Sun's coach? (I can't remeber his name at the moment.)

After Marion shot that buzzer beater, he came up to him like this...
