:lol Jesus you must be the most pessimistic Mavs fan in the universe. That deal wouldn't help Dallas in the least, not that they need help yet. They're being doomed prematurely because they're down 2-1 to an underrated Warriors team that's not really an eight seed and happens to be coached by someone who knows the Mavs inside and out.

I do think Avery might be in a little over his head, I've never thought much of him as a coach, from the outside it looks like the Mavs are on autopilot most of the time and his coaching adjustments so far have seemed misguided and way too late.

All the Mavs need is a low-post presence, and Dirk isn't giving it to them. KG would help a lot.

I can't find my Zo shaking his head pic (someone post it!) so this will have to do for the Jazz.

The thing is, KG just goes into his "turn around jump shooter" mode when ever the pressures on. He's more of a complementary player. Mavs definitely need someone they can throw it into in the post, but KG ain't him.

Unfortunately, there aren't really any low post players anymore.

I am nearly PEEING MY PANTS in anticipation of Sportcenter tonight. OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY~!

Aweome to see AB get a run too. 23 mins, and a double double. The Latvian Lover strikes again.

Starting him was the reason we had such a great run. He was ballin man. ****. This guy is so good when he gets the time out there.

this is like if Nadal was injured and hadn't played in a long time so his ranking drops.

then Federer has to play him in the 1st round of the French

Woodchuck, are you nervous? If the Mavs win game 4, I think they'll still get the series. They just have to avoid falling behind early cos the crowd will go crazy...

If the Warriors were winning by shooting 3s and contested jump shots, I wouldn't be worried, but they are winning with a lot of easy baskets. That's troubling. It's game 3, and that stuff isn't supposed to happen. The mavs just can't stop penetration against them.

On the offensive end, I thought they played well in game 2. They attacked the basket A LOT. In game 3, nothing was open. They had to work for every point. That's troubling too.

Mavs have to beat GSW two times in a row at some point in this series. They haven't shown they can even beat the Warriors twice in the last two years. Against the Rockets, I still felt the Mavs could win 2 years ago. I don't really have the same feeling this year.

This hasn't been a good year for Dallas sports fans...

I think Avery is gonna have to play a zone almost exclusively to cut down on the penetration. Mavs have such a big size advantage that they'd lose nothing on the defensive glass...

PG play...this is why they bitch and moan in the college game people!

Baron is just owning the Mavs backcourt

lol, I understand you may not like the road rims, but my gosh, the Ws count the same...Dallas has to up their intensity...give Avery a jersey

You can see "fear" in Cuban's eyes, dont look at the tongue, those eyes are crying out....

"Mavericks owner Mark Cuban sticks out his tongue as he looks at photographers as his team falls behind the Golden State Warriors during the second half of an NBA basketball Western Conference first-round playoff game"

Sigh..I knew the Raptors were in trouble after we lost at home because I very much doubt this teams ability to win on the road. But at the very least I expected them to put up some sort of fight. Other than Ford and sometimes Calderon and Parker no one has showed up for the playoffs

I don't know why Bosh has been such a non factor this series. I won't put it all on him because for the most part they've all been playing like crap, but he's getting manhandled by Mikki ****ing Moore..this ain't Rasheed Wallace. The next game being on a sunday will mean my week will either start out really great or really really awful.

What happens if the Warriors are hitting from deep though? All five of their starters can hit threes, and Barnes & Pietrus (from the corner) are threats as well. I agree they need to try something but I don't know if going to a zone exclusively is the answer.

Aren't the Spurs the oldest team in the league? If the Mavs can't come close to hanging with the Warriors (when they play this well), how could the Spurs? Shit, the Spurs can barely keep the Nuggets off their backs.

Is that why the Spurs beat the Warriors three times by an average win margin of around 30 points, with two of those wins coming at the end of the season when the Ws were playing their best basketball and chasing the 8th seed?

It´s something called defense, which the Mavs have improved quite a bit, but are still nowhere near what the Spurs are capable of doing when they´re clicking.

A Suns/Warriors series would be awesomely hilarious. Just non stop run and gun. Scores of 150+ I wish anyways.

the difference is that if the Warriors tried going to this small ball lineup against the spurs, San Antonio could make them pay by posting up Duncan at will. Who's going to guard them in GS's small lineup? Jackson? Barnes? Dallas' only 7 footer with offensive game is softer than a box of pillows and prefers to camp out on the perimeter even if he has a SF guarding him.

That could change in game 4 once avery's done kicking his ass in practice today..

I don't think i can even stand to watch game 4, even if they win and blow chicago out. it almost feels like a waste of my time, considering no team has ever come back from down 0-3..

:(

How sad would it be for both finals teams to go out in the first round?
Not as sad as if it was just us going out round 1. :D Yup, I fully intend on going out in a blaze of sour grapes and misdirected vitriol if/when we inevitably bite the bullet. We can't go down alone. If the Mavs get wiped by the Warriors. it will just look like the once a millenium fluke that this ultimately is. PEACE.

Branduil said:
Well at least you guys are still here. Where's Cerrius?
LOL! Cerrius is in counseling right now. This hasn't been easy on any of us. :lol But I'll admit that I was really brash two seasons ago, and we lost to Detroit. So it was kind of a fluke that I woofed the Heat through the playoffs last year and didn't jinx them. The law of averages says that after a championship, you need a first round ouster to balance the universe. Looks like that time is now. :( But no point in running and hiding. How else can I be an ungraceful loser? ;) PEACE.

It's just not a good playoffs for us Florida teams. At least the Mavs might take coverage off the Heat losing by doing something that almost never happens:)

And the last time it happened.....

Was to the Heat :(

The Florida Marlins have more championships than any pro miami team in the last decade. wtf. seriously though. This is worse than losing to detroit in game 7. I thought that heat team was the best I've ever seen (We zipped right through everyone till game 6 of ECF), but detroit was clearly pretty damn good too. I haven't accepted all season long that chicago was a good team. I mean, if chicago wins this series in 6 or 7, I'm not surprised cause their style of play is what we don't go well against, but to lose three in a row? I never thought it'd happen.

I tried to tell you Heat Fanboys that Chicago is too young for the Heat. They would push the ball up the floor and they have great D. You better blame your losses on the Nets because they didn't job to the Bulls in the last game of the season which made the Cavs the 2nd seed.

Warriors are shooting 27% from 3 for the series. I'd take my chances with that instead of all these dunks and layups...

Clearly the Mavs current defense isn't working. Try a zone on defense, and try to post up Dirk on offense, even if he's not that good at it.

I like how Dirk scored only 4pts in the 2nd half yesterday. If that was Kobe, he'd be getting KILLED today (blowout or not) :lol

Wow. Mavs got their balls handed to them on a plate last night. The Mavs need to lose whatever mental block they have against GS and wake the **** up. Dirk needs to be more selfish and quit passing so much on the block. He has the size advantage, finish! That crowd was awesome too. Ugh, I don't even know if I can watch tomorrow's train wreck.

And Baron Davis is a BMF.

Now...

HOW 'BOUT THEM BULLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one on the mavs can even throw a good entry pass. And besides, Dirk has a pretty weak lower body. Did you see him posting up last night and get pushed all the way to the 3pt line?

oh and

Baron > Wade

I've found it amusing how the media up here went to town on VC's struggles in the first two games (and to be fair, he was shit), and stroked up Bosh's balls even though he was just as invisible in game one. Well VC went off like a mother****er while Bosh got his head squashed last night. I don't remember him doing ANYTHING of impact. But somehow I doubt anyone gets on Bosh for it. Which is why I despite the Raptors coverage in this town...it's so ridiculously bi-partisan it's sickening. Which is why rooting for VC and the Nets has been a pleasure so far.

Now I know how Incognito feels...

I thought you were a Raptors fan. Just because the media isn't as unbiased as they should ideally be, you're turning your back on the team and actually rooting for them to lose? That's pretty bad.
