Damn, Venters is throwing 97mph sinkers. I've never seen him top 95 this season.
Hmm, I`ve seen him do 96 a LOT, at least according to Gameday`s readings. 97 a few times too.

Well, that could have been a fun game if it turned out totally differently to how it did. At least the blown call that led to a missing run didn't affect anything in the end.

Oh, it was still fun.

Sort of.

5 errors is terrible.

Dude... the field absolutely blows. The Angels made terrible play after terrible play too. You may not realize it because you've never seen a real field before, but grass is supposed to stay on the field, not leave it in clumps.

It almost certainly is, they apparently totally redid the field for it. But I'm still going to assume it's the usual state of the Angels field because I am unreasonable and pissed off about that game.

Dude, Felix v. Lowe tomorrow. Lowe is so bad, he`s the only pitcher on the Braves roster with an ERA over 4.00.
I heard some dude idiot on some syndicated sports talk show last night saying the Yankees needed to trade Nick Swisher and Russel Martin for Lowe. Because Lowe is a "great pitcher" who would really solidify the Yankees' rotation. I mean, before we even get into the fact that this trade probably doesn't work well for the Braves, Lowe? Really? Hahahah.

With the 5 errors I be salty too with the team..Im salty from the Dodgers lost today with the close play at home. Carroll should found a way to get in under the throw..That was a momentum swing

Russel Martin? Does this guy know who Brian McCann is?

Swisher for Lowe? yes please. Of course thats assuming they take on all the money. But I wouldn't mind having Heyward or Prado in center. I think they could be average. And then we can just trade Russell Martin to someone for a RH bullpen arm.

I did read on MLBTR though that the yankees are reluctant to deal with the braves because of the way previous trades have worked out for them.

Honestly, I wouldn't take that deal unless the Yankees picked up a significant portion of Lowe's contract. And then I would flip Swisher, no lie. Where's he going to play? We don't need any starters unless Prado somehow ends out for the season.

I'm actually really fine with just keeping Lowe at this point. He isn't that bad, he gives you an extremely reliable amount of innings, and he provides significant depth to our roster. I'm more interested in trading Jurrjens, Minor, or maybe Delgado for a legitimate CF, SS, or other hitting prospects during the offseason.

I'm really disgusted with the l.a. Media trying to link some stupid video where Stow is being confronted over some remark about dodger dogs to getting beaten in the parking lot. The guy on the video who says maybe he said the wrong thing to the wrong person. SMH...

Neat. The Pirates signed their first player from Guatemala ever and suppose to be just the 3rd ever given a contact.

And they are a half game ahead of the Reds in the standings. Congrats.

They've owned the Reds this year in head-to-head games. There is a lot of parity in baseball recently that we didn't see for about ten years from 1995-2005. Teams like Brewers, Reds, and Pirates, three of the smallest market teams in the majors, can compete for playoff spots. I love it.

oh, i'm fine with keeping lowe too. but if we did have the chance of getting rid of his contract and getting a player like Swisher in return then i would do it. Of course, Swisher is a FA after this season though.

He is mortal.

April 8, 2011
The Braves got to Cliff Lee for six runs in less than four innings, and Tim Hudson settled in for seven-plus solid innings as Atlanta took the home opener over the Phillies, 6-3.

The Braves tacked on three runs in the second and fourth innings against Lee, recording 10 hits total against the left-hander. Martin Prado, Nate McLouth and Alex Gonzalez drove in a run apiece in the second, while Chipper Jones doubled home three in the fourth.

Lee was chased after 3.1 innings. He allowed seven ground balls, five fly balls and five line drives, ending with a WPA of -.498. He constantly left his cutter and four-seamer up and over the plate, resulting in several hard hit balls by Braves hitters. Such a bad game by Lee command-wise is very rare.

May 6,2011
May 6, 2011 - On Friday night, the Phillies learned that 16 strikeouts aren't enough to prevent a shutout loss. Despite Cliff Lee's terrific effort, Derek Lowe took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and the Braves beat the division leaders 5-0.
