Capcom brings EA’s grip on the All Formats No1 spot to an end with Xbox 360 exclusive ‘Lost Planet: Extreme Condition’ debuting at No1, ahead of Nintendo’s Wii-exclusive ‘Wario Ware: Smooth Moves’ new at No2 (No1 in the Wii Chart). It’s Capcom’s first All Formats No1 since ‘Dead Rising’, which was also an Xbox 360 exclusive, 19 weeks ago.



Sales of ‘FIFA 07’ are down by 59%, the largest drop-off for any All Formats Top 40 game this week, pushing the Christmas Chart-topper down from No1 to No3. ‘Lost Planet: Extreme Condition’ is the 5th Xbox 360 exclusive game to reach the All Formats No1 position, following ‘Dead or Alive 4’, ‘Saints Row’, ‘Dead Rising’ and ‘Gears of War’. There are now 17 format-exclusives in the All Formats Top 40 this week. After weeks of low stock, ‘The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess’ re-enters the Top 10, up from No36 to No8, boosted also by renewed sales of Wii hardware (up by 85% on last week).

The only other new release to make the All Formats Top 40 is Sega’s ‘World Snooker Championship 2007’ at No17, while there are re-entries for ‘Wii Play’ at No19 and ‘Red Steel’ at No34 thanks in part to renewed Wii hardware stock.

because they didn't know what kind of game it was or who it was aimed at. doesn't really matter though because anyone who played the demo will know if they want it or not.

Brain Training wins PES6 as I expected. That ad helped. Not a single 360 game. Gears of War only made it #8 last month and its not on top10 in December. Quite saying.

Brain Training wins PES6 as I expected. That ad helped. Not a single 360 game. Gears of War only made it #8 last month and its not on top10 in December. Quite saying.

But, but dumbo mumbo jimbo said X360 sales are amazing in European countries.
Gears of War only charted ONE week in France and then disappeared, only debuted at #8 in the Spanish monthly charts and then disappeared again. There were no 360 games in the German charts, so what did those millions and millions of 360 owners in Europe buy for their consoles?

Anyway, its great to see how amazing DS performed in Spain, one of the strongest markets for Sony traditionaly. It had 5 games in the top 10.

Spain at least is ps2 kingdom. Dont know how good or average 360 sales are in Spain but i think there seems to be much more buzz around 360 than what the xbox had in its first year, and there is much more marketing now and not only with Gears but Cod3, Pinata, Lost planet, PES, etc.. so it may not be doing incredible but its a step forward, at least untill march or whenever ps3 reaches euroland.

I actually thought GeOW would go down after the release of LP, so it's actually quite obvious that the 360 audience has expanded drastically since last year, when only one game at a time would be selling high numbers.

Capcom brings EA’s grip on the All Formats No1 spot to an end with Xbox 360 exclusive ‘Lost Planet: Extreme Condition’ debuting at No1, ahead of Nintendo’s Wii-exclusive ‘Wario Ware: Smooth Moves’ new at No2 (No1 in the Wii Chart). It’s Capcom’s first All Formats No1 since ‘Dead Rising’, which was also an Xbox 360 exclusive, 19 weeks ago.



Sales of ‘FIFA 07’ are down by 59%, the largest drop-off for any All Formats Top 40 game this week, pushing the Christmas Chart-topper down from No1 to No3. ‘Lost Planet: Extreme Condition’ is the 5th Xbox 360 exclusive game to reach the All Formats No1 position, following ‘Dead or Alive 4’, ‘Saints Row’, ‘Dead Rising’ and ‘Gears of War’. There are now 17 format-exclusives in the All Formats Top 40 this week. After weeks of low stock, ‘The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess’ re-enters the Top 10, up from No36 to No8, boosted also by renewed sales of Wii hardware (up by 85% on last week).

The only other new release to make the All Formats Top 40 is Sega’s ‘World Snooker Championship 2007’ at No17, while there are re-entries for ‘Wii Play’ at No19 and ‘Red Steel’ at No34 thanks in part to renewed Wii hardware stock.

Those are pretty impressive numbers for the Wii in the UK. I expected to see LP at the top, but Wario and Zelda? It also appears that Gears of War has some legs which is not something I was expecting since most 360 games sell like crazy the first few weeks and then drop like a rock. Anyone else think Sony is going to have a very tough time in the UK?

Other regions like France and Spain look like they are just waiting for the PS3 to come in and take over.

Gears of War only charted ONE week in France and then disappeared, only debuted at #8 in the Spanish monthly charts and then disappeared again. There were no 360 games in the German charts, so what did those millions and millions of 360 owners in Europe buy for their consoles?

I actually thought GeOW would go down after the release of LP, so it's actually quite obvious that the 360 audience has expanded drastically since last year, when only one game at a time would be selling high numbers.

That's a good point, and it bodes well for the next six months when a number of major releases will be coming. The install base is large enough to support them concurrently.

So is Twisted ever gonna come. I think it has a Spring release. Dammit I still need, Zelda: MC, Zelda: Alltp/FS, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem. That'd complete my collection on GBA.
