Any Best Buy experts here? I pre-ordered there, but can't find my receipt. I take it I am screwed if I try to collect on that?

Wow, a lot of bad responses to this question...

I work(ed) at Best Buy. They store all transactions in their system that they can possibly tie back to you, i.e. if you paid with credit of any kind or used a reward zone card with the purchase.

The only thing they won't find is a transaction paid with cash with no membership cards used on the same transaction, for obvious reasons.

Since you later said that you used a BBY card AND Reward Zone, you're practically guaranteed that they'll be able to pull up the transaction.

Since I only mucked about with Fable I for awhile and never sat down and got the game, could anyone explain to me what the game is all about.

I haven't really picked up a RPG game since the SNES days with the exception being FF7. This looks more like an Action RPG, but anyway....

It looks like they're hailing it as having "infinite options", how true is that? Like will I go crazy being the OCD gamer that I am trying to find/do/get everything? I don't like games like that because I freak out and think I'm going to do something wrong.

Please essplain. Any halp would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are several points of no return on certain moral decisions that will change the outcomes of things, sometimes so far down the line that you can't possibly predict them, then when they happen you're like "Oooohhhh..." It's going to torment OCD gamers, because for once what you do does matter and you can't have it all. Which is why it has replay value for people who like to do and see everything.

However, there is no "wrong" way to do something as far as I can tell.

I'm not going to be able to get this on day 1 but it'll be one of the first things I will try to get hold of in November. I love what Fable 2 does to old school RPG rules. You don't die. There is no armor in the traditional sense. True moral choices.

It should remind gamers about what an RPG really is and what it isn't. All those years you have been told by elitist PC gamers what an RPG is and yet they have no clue. It's not an RPG because it has a mouse & keyboard based interface, an inventory, round based combat, 250 hours of gameplay or a party system. There are other far more important aspects that make a videogame an RPG. Molyneux stripped it down to it's core and built a game on top of it as if the genre didn't exist already.

As if Baldur's Gate and Final Fantasy were never made.

Yeah the pub games aren't that great. It's like I'm at an actual casino and I only go up a bit or a lose all my money. Ugh.

They're actually not, and they're fairly easy to win without the exploit once you get a strategy down. I earned all 15 items from Pub Games and so when I start my character, he's going to have furniture for his home, 3000 bonus experience I wouldn't have otherwise had, healing food items, and two weapons and an accessory that boost his magic. That's really useful at the beginning of the game.

Can you elaborate on that armor section?

EDIT: Think im going to hold onto LBP for Christmas season. It just feels like one of those "Christmas morning games" like Mario Galaxy was. More time to play Fable II.

Right now I've made 79 gold total:lol No doubt. There should be some awesome tie in that if you transfer over debt to the game, loan-sharks come looking for you in-game.

I haven't paid attention to gaming for a few years now and just randomly stumbled across this thread, and I don't know jack shit about this game. I forgot it was even being made. I remember spending forever looking forward to "Project Ego" and being so pissed with what we ended up with in the stripped down Fable. Is Fable II supposed to be more like Project Ego or what Fable turned out to be?

Yeah.

I'm scared to transfer my Gold, but at the same time, I unlocked a bunch of those "unique items" that you get when you win tournaments and I want those.
