Me too. Internal conflict is not good at the moment. Plus wasn't Dein the one that spearheaded bringing Wenger in?
I especially dislike the uncertainty surrounding the club, and this doesn't help the situation at all. After I read Hill-Woods comments earlier I was happy, now this.

Of course, Hill-Wood must have already known what was about to happen with Dein when he made the comments, so I suppose the comments still stand.

I wonder what WARCOCK's response is.

Im just kidding, but i mean i believe it is simply in the interest of giving eastern european soccer some momentum. Much like recent cries for the UEFA to change the CL' qualifying and selection system in order to give smaller less resourceful countries a chance at the competition. ALL IN THE NAME OF SOCCER EXPANSION AND GLOBALIZATION. On the otherhand poland and ukraine...so much for tourism... LOL

watching the sky sports news reports about Dean's departure doesn't fill me with confidence either. I'm scared.

Is it time to panic?

The sky is falling!

But seriously... there are tons of rumors as to what happened and what the plan is. It'll probably take a day or two before we know the real story and where things may be headed from here.

****ing twats, why cant they play like that when it actually ****ing matters. Like at Brammel Lane on Saturday. ****ing twats, god i hate west ham.

who scored chelsea's goals?
Shockingly, Wright-Phillips had both.

GOAL! West Ham 1 - 2 Chelsea (Wright-Phillips 36) Incredible! Bridge runs down the left, produces a fine cross, and Wright-Phillips meets it perfectly with a sidefooted volley past Green. Boa Morte is the culpable Hammer this time, lazily not tracking Wright-Phillips's run, but what a finish! What a game, in fact!

GOAL! West Ham 1 - 1 Chelsea (Tevez 34) A howler from Cech! I repeat, A HOWLER FROM CECH! As Lampard lunged into a reckless challenge, Tevez played a sharp one-two around him before shooting from 25 yards across the Chelsea keeper. While it was towards the corner, the shot was far from venomous and Cech really should have palmed it away at the very least. Instead he barely made contact at all. You don't see mistakes like that from the Chelsea No1 very often.

GOAL! West Ham 0 - 1 Chelsea (Wright-Phillips 31) Wright-Phillips's first league goal for Chelsea is a brilliant one! Kalou chested the ball down to him 25 yards out, he dribbled from right to left, cut inside Spector, and unleashed a stunning left-foot shot across Green into the far corner. Spector should have done better - he slipped as Wright-Phillips turned suddenly - but it was a wonderfully crisp finish. Why can't the winger produces moments like that more often?

Nope. "Ashley Cole, Andriy Shevchenko, Claude Makelele and Michael Ballack all miss out either through injury, poor form or exhaustion - only after the game will Jose Mourinho reveal the cause."

Injury in Shevchenko's case.

Blackburn beating Watford 3-1, though I'm watching Chelsea because I can't find a feed for Blackburn.

So West Ham are likely to be in the Conference next year. Unless they mop up some unexpected results and charlton and sheff utd take points off each other.

Bets on when Lucas Neill will leave? :lol

I probably didn't need to include Watford, but they're not technically down yet. West Ham are screwed, obviously, and even if Charlton beat Sheff Utd they'll have a hard time staying up.

Fulham's interesting, they've got 2 games there they're highly likely to lose and another 2 they very well might...strangely they're probably now the most likely to team to go down outside of those already in the bottom 3.

I'd like Fulham to go down, or Sheffield.

By saying that I have probably doomed Charlton, haven't I.

Anyway, I made a profit of almost 24 pounds with the games yesterday and today. This is starting to work nicely.

I try not to associate my team with Hadareud on match days, I can't risk it.
I know - it's dangerous to even mention them on match day for fear that they may inadvertently find their way into one of his posts. :lol

Wait a minute, weren't you supporting Blackburn at the weekend? I knew Pedersen couldn't have missed that header through natural means.

I'm also on a roll with this week's games...mainly because they've been really, really easy to predict.

Messi's goal was so much like Maradonna's it's absolutely frightening...good Lord. Maybe he's heard all the praise Ronaldo's received lately and decided to do something about it. :lol

I passed on the chance to see Barca's game today on the tv. I'm pissed! I can only imagine what it would have felt like watching that Messi goal unfold live as it was happening.

*shakes head in disbelief*

easily one of the best runs/goals I've ever seen. just unbelievable stuff there. went past I believe 6 people including the keeper to get the goal. thats just determination. and with the passing options he had... wow, he's just too good.

and I did get to watch it unfold live... I was sitting on the couch, and after he got past 3 people I slowly rose off my couch and then when he entered the box I was completly off the couch then when he hit the goal I hit my knees on my coffee table and almost fell completly on the floor of my living room. It was awesome. I then called a few people that are into football as I am, and luckily for me, I recorded it. Lets just say they were in disbelieve when they watched it. Truely amazing.

Now "THIS is Living"

the highest paid footballers of 2006/07 (EUR):
1. Ronaldinho Barcelona 24,0 Mio. 23,0*
2. David Beckham Real Madrid 17,0 18,0
3. Thierry Henry Arsenal 15,7 9,8
4. Michael Ballack Chelsea 15,3 8,4
5. Ronaldo Milan 15,2 17,4
6. Andrej Schewtschenko Chelsea 12,7 -
7. Alessandro del Piero Juventus 11,5 11,5
8. John Terry Chelsea 11,4 9,7

18. Rio Ferdinand Manchester United 8,5 9,0
. Iker Casillas Real Madrid 8,5 -
20. Raul Real Madrid 8,4 8,9

I don't know how they get their data, but some of it seems off (Henry for instance).

edit: the second number is what they were earning last year btw. I wonder how much Rooney enjoyed his alleged paycut of 50 percent.

edit 2: here's the managers:

1. Jose Mourinho Chelsea 10,0
2. Alex Ferguson Manchester United 6,1
3. Fabio Capello Real Madrid 5,8
4. Sven-Göran Eriksson - 5,2
5. Guus Hiddink Russland 5,0
6. Giovanni Trapattoni Salzburg 4,6
7. Frank Rijkaard Barcelona 4,5
8. Arsene Wenger Arsenal 4,4
9. Roberto Mancini Inter Mailand 3,4
10. Felix Magath - 2,8
. Rafael Benitez Liverpool 2,8

The income for the players probably includes endorsement and rights fees. Basically, everything on top of the weekly wage they pull in. I know Henry's only getting 100,000 a week wage wise, so I assume the new Reebok deal and rights fees are extremely lucrative for him.

Wenger is grossly underpaid BTW...he oughta be making at least Alex Ferguson money. But I'm sure they'll remedy that with the extension offer.

Meanwhile, Baptista apparantely decided to sound like Reyes for a day...

Baptista cannot settle at Arsenal

Julio Baptista's future at Arsenal is in doubt after he revealed he is struggling to adjust to playing in the Premiership and life in England.

The 26-year-old is on a season-long loan from Real Madrid as part of a swap deal for Jose Antonio Reyes.

Baptista told The Times: "The weather over here is killing me. We get one day of sunshine for every 30 days of rain.

"The Premiership is very hard. I enjoy making clever touches but the game is so fast I don't have time to think."

There is still a possibility of Baptista's switch being made permanent but the Brazilian indicated he would rather return to the Bernabeu at the end of the season.

"I could stay at Arsenal but right now I can't see myself anywhere for definite," he explained.

"But it is clear in my mind that I'd tackle a second chance with Real with far more maturity than I did my first.

"My girlfriend and my mother are frightened about not seeing the sun in England. They miss being in Madrid."

Baptista, known as 'The Beast', has not been impressed by some of Arsenal's rivals.

"The teams from the north of England are terrible," Baptista said. "When we play them I have counted their centre-backs booting up to 30 long balls upfield per game.

"The moment you stop to think, someone has taken the ball off you and knocked you to the ground.

"Over here they value a corner kick more than a fancy flick. I am lucky to be with Arsenal, as they are a team that likes to play proper football."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/6570853.stm

He did say a few months ago that he had no desire to play for Madrid again as long as Capello was still manager. But there are persistant rumours that he'll be replaced at season's end, so returning wouldn't be an issue for him. It's a shame he hasn't worked out for us, but the last thing we need is another Reyes.

Oh yeah, here's a great quote from Roy Keane...

Meanwhile, United legend Roy Keane is convinced his Sunderland side could hold their own in the Premiership and even be a threat to Chelsea. Keane watched the champions' FA Cup semi final against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday and says he saw nothing to fear.

He said: "I went to see the match just hoping to see a decent game and have a look at Chelsea, see what their manager is all about and pick up a few different things. I left before extra time but overall I have to say I didn't think it was a good game. I thought it was poor.

"I looked at both teams and thought 'we could have either of them' – just as I looked at Middlesbrough and West Ham a few weeks ago. We could take them and I saw nothing to worry us. I have watched plenty or Premiership teams recently and I reckon we could beat a few of them."
