I know. Also, Arsenal are known to move very quietly on the transfer market to not attract attention from a certain london club that would double the price.

That, and there is still 3 months to go in the transfer windows.

Still, I'm nervous, as always.

Haha, what are you nervous about?

Why isn't this a sticky? All of the other sports topics are ;/

No love for soccer I guess.

Anyone play FIFA 07 on XBL? My gamertag is primalforza if anyone wants to play ;D

Rickrolling, what is that?
It's the reason you're about to get banned. I sent a PM to sp0rsk.

No, not really. But please don't pull that crap around here again.

Did you cry when you saw that Barcelona were close to capturing Henry?

Lineups are in. Predictions?

England (4-4-2) Robinson, Carragher, King, Terry, Shorey, Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Cole, Smith, Owen.

Brazil (4-4-2) Helton, Daniel, Naldo, Juan, Gilberto, Ronaldinho, Mineiro, Gilberto Silva, Kaka, Robinho, Vagner Love.

3 things wrong with the England line up.

1) Shorey won't be able to handle Ronaldinho.
2) Gerrard and Lampard in the middle together... no.
3) Smith? :lol

1-3

I dunno if anyone mentioned it and I missed it, but Chelsea have got Pizarro on a free.

If they can get a work permit for Alex, they'll have signed 3 players for a grand total of...a pound.

I think that Anelka could score more goals than Rooney, like you say 15 to 20 seems realistic. I don't think Rooney will score more than 15 a season, at least not on a regular basis.

um... You mean goals in EPL only?

Here is the stat of Rooney since he joins us:

Season - Total goals in competitive matches (Goals in EPL)
=========================================
2004/05 - 17 (11)
2005/06 - 19 (16)
2006/07 - 23 (14)

So is the pitch pretty bad? The online commentary has mentioned how poor it is a couple of times.

It does look a bit choppy. Almost as if the grass clippings were mulched and not picked up. I doubt that is the case though. Inside the 6 it's a big chewed up as well. Doesn't seem overwhelmingly poor though.

Alright McClaren, you've had your big joke, you've played Smith in the first international at Wembley, now let's get serious.

the game's a bit better than I expected, but still not great. England are only dangerous when Beckham has the ball, Smith was shit, Lampard even worse. it's the pitch

No support for Owen there at all, I think he should put on Bentley for Lampard, put Beckham in the middle. And also take Smith off.

Brazil are dangerous, but they don't really take the game too serious so far.

Lampard played absolute shite. I cant believe they were faulting Becks before, cant anyone see its Lampard that needs replacing.
So far for me, Becks, Cole and Gerrad have all played well. Though England are lacking creativity. I hope we do out on a limb in the second half and if we get beaten so be it. I'm not liking these subdued performances.

I always think Lampard suffers more than Gerrard when they have to play together, at least when they have to play together. Neither's at their best because they have to defend the whole time, at least when it's just the two of them, but at least Gerrard can defend.

I'd probably go to that 4-5-1, only Carrick instead of Smith, so Lampard and Gerrard can attack, or one can at least.

What is Owen's deal. Is he staying at New Castle?

I had heard he was being linked to a few different clubs, but he seems to be pretty injury prone. I know that Arsenal was looking after him a bit, but I think a few other teams had shown an interest in him as well.

I think he's going In Ter Milan ;)

I haven't seen Alves play many times, but yet again he's not convincing me. I must just be seeing his few bad games, otherwise no way he's worth his price tag.

I guess in order to not have anyone busting my b**** I'll have to use a neutral avatar lol.

I don't know if this was posted, but I think this is Inter's new away kit.

I like it. It look's like an English flag but it also resembles the crest on their back of Inter's shirts.

*2 seconds later Downign almost scores*

I don't think Beckham will have too much trouble making 100 caps after this game. Not that it's been his best, but he's the best England player on the pitch anyway.

Pfft, laughable isn't it?

The most popular sport in the world....sure, garbage like baseball gets a sticky but not the sport king.

what a goal!!!! omg!!!

Perfect ball by Beckham. Terry with a powerful header!

^ Yeah I know, it's pathetic. I'm American, and I can't stand how this country overlooks football (as it should be called) so easily. It's the most popular sport in the world. We at least deserve a sticky here.
