I feel bad for West Ham, they paid good money for both players and Mascherano refused to play I believe (correct me if I'm wrong). They got some use out of Tevez and now at the first sight of a "successful" club he's ready to jump ship and leave WHU flat behind.

I mean, I guess they'll get alot of money from the transfer/loan but tbh if I were them, I'd rather have Tevez. They did some bolstering up on their squad in the past month and I think they planned on building a team around Tevez.

I don't know...I feel bad for West Ham fans, but a good argument could be made that they should've been relegated for that dodgy deal. Instead Tevez damn near carried them to safety by himself and the EPL chose not to take points away. So in some ways they oughta just count their blesssings and be thankful they're still in the EPL, particularly with the bountiful of cash they'll be getting from the new TV deal regardless of their final place.

I probably missed the latest discussion on the Tevez fiasco, but i gotta say i find the whole thing hilarious....Jorabachian pimped west ham from the back of his Cadillac, then proceeded to take them into a back alley and molest them with his big toe.

:lol

And :lol @ Chille/Portugal...that game just got out of control in the last five minutes. Chille won 1-0 BTW.

Quaresma, new Madrid target. Baptista would be included in the deal to bring down his price.

Drenthe has reached an agreement with the team according to various spanish media outlets.

Pff like that matters, all I care about is the quality of players' YouTube clips, and on this basis our new signings are decidedly better than yours :D

Plus, seems like Tevez 'aint going anywhere right now (though i doubt he'll play for us again regardless). We knew he was leaving as soon as Kia failed to buy the club...I'd rather our whole first squad left than have Kia owning West Ham, so Tevez is an unfortunate but necessary loss.

Kia is a crook, I think we've all known it since the first day he showed up on the scene, as a west ham fan i was just hoping he was the clever kind of crook, turns out he's as retarded as his long line of failed buisness attempts suggests. This arrest warrant in Brazil doesnt supprise me one bit. He's been trying to blackmail the premier league with mysterious documents that apparently prove shit for the last 2 weeks, and the only reason he's doing that is he knows his ownership of Tevez wont stand up in court.

Round 3? More like the last hope. However, this time I will give it to Mexico. They can win this game and most likely they will win it. Do Santos is my favorite player of that tournament.

I was 100% sure Mexico would win in Copa America against Argentina, or lose in penalties.

Not so confident anymore

21.5 million? I hope we wouldn't have accepted that price anyway - try double that.
I'm glad he came out and said that he wants to stay. Of course his suggestion to sign Eto'o is nice too. He's a nice young boy.

oh, btw is this thing true that his agent was arrested? I know that the gender thing might be ...

Gender thing?

Anyway as far as i know he hasnt been arrested but a Brazilian judge has apparently issued a warrant for his address.

The Brazilian authorities are reported to have instructed Interpol to carry out the arrest of Joorabchian, who is involved in negotiations for the sale of Tevez to Manchester United to West Ham, and Russian businessman Boris Berezovsky. Mr Berezovsky's lawyer was unaware of the issuing of a warrant on Friday morning.

The warrants are reported to relate to suspected money laundering at Brazilian side Corinthians, of which Joorabchian's company Media Sports Investment (MSI) is a majority investor.

Judge Fausto Martin de Sanctis reportedly ordered the club's assets to be frozen and will also investigate international transfers conducted by the club.

Both Corinthians and MSI deny the charges.

I remember people talking about this when he first came back to the UK, seems like they are finally ready to do something about it.

thanks. As much as I would have loved Tevez at Arsenal, I'm glad that we didn't get involved now. Not that much harm will be done to Manyoo, but you never know. It's definitely too dodgy for comfort.

Plus, the Premiership will do everything in their powers to not let this deal happen like this - Sheffield and company are just waiting for something like this to happen to fuel their chances at the high court hearing.

interesting

Flamini apparently wants to stay now and is happy being a squad player:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/li...article_id=468138&in_page_id=1779&ito=newsnow

While not the most talented, he always gives everything and is definitely useful backup, because he can play nearly everywhere. I would have been happy with him leaving, but since he would want to buy himself out of the contract there's no money to be made - so it's better he's staying I suppose.

Need to sell Song now though, well, should have done that regardless.

One winger (Drenthe, **** off Real) and we're set for next year. I'm ready for the season to start now.

What does everyone make of suggestions Wenger is gonna move Eboue into the midfield? yay or nay?

I'd have to wait and see personally, although it sounds good on paper...he's got guile, power and pace.can deliver a final ball too ,as i remember a couple of crosses he put in last season leading to goals.

So who's made the best signings so far?

For me, Man Utd purely because they've built on an already solid team that won last season, and we now have the extra legs so we can fight on in all 4 compititions.

I like it a lot actually, he's improved a lot offensively over the last two years but defensively he didn't really at all.

He definitely has the pace and his crosses and passes are getting better. He's not afraid to have a shot and his finishing will improve over time.

I'd like it even better if he would be able to play on the left, unfortunately he isn't I think. On the right we already have Rosicky, Hleb, Walcott (and Ljungberg for now), on the left we only got Rosicky.

it's really difficult to say, for now I'd probably say Man Utd too.

- On the other hand I don't think that Nani and Anderson will have an immediate impact, I think they are more players for 2008/09.
Hargreaves and Tevez (if he actually is able to join) on the other hand are real improvements over an already very strong squad.

- Chelsea's signings will improve them even further too, they will be hard to beat next year. Need to see if they let Robben and Swp go and if Alves joins. But I think they are the favourites for the title.

- Liverpool, I don't know. I have to wait 10 games or so before I really judge. I don't want to put them down but I don't really see a major improvement over last year. I'm probably alone with my appraisal, but I think they are the weakest of the top 4.

- Arsenal are understated as always. Having lost Henry could be a big blow from a psychological point of view, on the other hand it might set other players free and the added responsibility could be a very positive thing for players like Van Persie.
Good signings so far, I think Sagna will be a good improvement defensively, Eduardo will score goals, both of them improve the squad quite a bit I think. Fabianski and Nordtveit are signings for the future.
If Arsenal can sign a talented left winger that can score they are absolutely in the running for the title. Without that, who knows - they might still be. (i'm not biased)

But Fabregas said: 'I have total confidence in the boss that he will sign a new deal.
'Wenger believes in this team and has a lot of confidence in the squad.
'I am only 20 and all I have to do is enjoy my football and improve - and I want to do that with this team. I will try to win titles with Arsenal and give my all to Arsene Wenger.
'I will always be grateful to him for giving me my chance.'
Now Fabregas is hoping Arsenal continue to spend this summer to help make up for the loss of Henry, and he believes the striker's new team-mate Samuel Eto'o would be the perfect replacement.
'I would try to sign Eto'o - he would be the ideal replacement for Henry,' Fabregas said.
'I know it's difficult, maybe impossible, but it would be the perfect solution.'

Some pretty interesting and uplifting quotes in there.

The new West Ham Away Dicky Dirt:

Good to know is lighter stronger cooler AND smarter. I was worried they wouldnt one up the strength from last year but they pulled it off.

kinda lame, but hey! its a slow news day.

the shirt itself looks quite alright, I really don't like the XL though.

it does look smarter though
and a bit lighter too

edit: which reminds me of the hilarity of those shirt launches when players get asked what they are looking for in their shirts.

I've seen Man City linked to Lucho Gonzalez (Porto), Ludovic Guily and Thiago Motta at various sites today.

So many teams are improving this year, I just hope Blackburn can stay ahead of enough sides. I reckon we're still ahead of Derby, Fulham, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Wigan at the very least right now (also hopeful a Bolton without Allardyce will plummit), but I'm far from confident that we can finish in the top half again.

Reyes returns to Arsenal
Last updated at 14:34pm on 13th July 2007

Real Madrid have sent Jose Antonio Reyes back to Arsenal after the two clubs were unable to agree a fee, according to reports in Spain.

The Spain forward moved to the Bernabeu as part of a loan swap deal with forward Julio Baptista, who failed to earn a permanent move to the Gunners.

Reyes scored two goals in Madrid's title-clinching 3-1 win over Mallorca on the final day of last season.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/li...article_id=468212&in_page_id=1779&ito=newsnow

great. hopefully we'll find a club for him or else we're stuck with someone who's not only falling over every other minute in a strong breeze, but that's also feeling very sorry for himself because he has to be in horrible England.

If he was serious about playing here and stopped his diving I'd welcome him back with open arms. Neither is going to happen so he can **** off.

edit: oh, and his annoying smirk would have to go too.

edit again: and Real are really starting to piss me off this summer. They can **** off too. I also hope they don't get Drenthe now, I'd rather have Chelsea have him than real.

Well actually no, but still.

thing is, for 6 million pounds I wouldn't sell him either.

If players like Babel sell for 11.5 or 13.5 million (depending on who you choose to believe) and players like Nani and Anderson for 17 then the 5 or 6 million that Real allegedly offered are an absolute insult and intended as such.

Real are not serious about keeping him and they are just winding the player up on purpose (for whatever reason. maybe for their fans because he scored those 2 goals).
They can shove their shitty money up their bloody arse to be honest - I wouldn't sell a single player to them again until they change their ways. The Fabregas thing has just further cemented my view on the people leading this club (twats). The club itself is not that unsympathetic to me for some reason.

I hope we do find a club that is serious about buying him and that is willing to pay a reasonable price (8 to 10 million).

I think he's probably worth about £8m, I wouldn't bid higher than that. I'm sure someone will...Sevilla, Atletico...someone.

well, he's only 23 and he's already proven himself at top level. He is a good player, that can make a difference in any game if he's in the right set of mind. In the right environment he could be world class I think.

8 million are the bare minimum in my view, especially in the current market.

I dunno, kind of seems like Baptista to me. Does really well at an initial club, moves to a bigger club and doesn't impress, moves to yet another big club for a year to prove himself...and fails.

I wouldn't pay more than £8m for either.

he played very well for us in the first year, had an indifferent 2nd one and did very well in the Champions league in the 3rd. He was a big reason why we reached the final. Of course he annoyed the **** out of me with his antics in the Premiership, but that doesn't mean too much.

I can't say how he did for Real, because I didn't watch enough Spanish football to do so - but there was at least a few games he did well in and made a difference.

an african american german kid no less. So not only is he good with children, he's also no racist.

The kid doesn't look that happy talking to him though.

Sheff Utd have lost their High Court appeal. Or possibly weren't even granted the right to appeal, I'm not clear on it.

I wish I could believe this is the end of it.

Lol on the day Beckham takes over the headlines in newspapers across the country, Red Bull decided to strut their stuff too. So they paid for the front page of New York's Daily News.
