It's hard to understand why you would want to go back. I don't think Benitez would go there any time soon, he's too smart for that.Steroyd said:What's worse is that Capello lead Real Madrid to the La Liga title exactly 10 years ago and got sacked after that, the guy doesn't learn.
I'd understand Benitez because he's supported Real Madrid for a long time, but even then your brain has to override your heart in Real Madrid's case.
THE MADNESS OF SPANISH FOOTBALL
THE SACKING of Fabio Capello after winning La Liga is another example of the madness that affects Spanish boardrooms.
La Liga clubs have long been controlled by trigger-happy presidents who react too quickly to even minor unrest.
Former England boss Terry Venables (right) left QPR for Barcelona in 1984 and within two years he had led the Catalan giants to their first title since the 1960s.
A year later he guided them to the European Cup Final - where they lost on penalties to Steaua Bucharest. He was sacked in September 1987.
Real Madrid won the Champions League in 1998 but German coach Jupp Heynckes was dismissed just weeks later.
Vicente del Bosque was fired in 2003 after winning La Liga and was replaced by Carlos Queiroz who lasted just 12 months.
"All I can say from the club's point of view and mine is that it is only speculation because we have had no official contact from anybody at Arsenal at the moment," said Allardyce. "Everybody knows about the clause situation he has - that leaves us in a very poor position as a football club. We have got the player contracted, it does not mean we have got the player and we can decide if we want to sell him or not because there is a get-out clause in that contract.
"We are left in a very precarious position regarding that. All the speculation that is flying around is difficult to cope with, but it is something we will have to try to find out over the next few days. When Oba comes back, we will sit down and say, 'What exactly is the situation?' and if he has any problems, try to resolve them and hopefully persuade him Newcastle is the place for him next season."
Meanwhile, Allardyce, who hopes to seal his move for Paris St Germain defender David Rozehnal later today, has admitted his interest in Chelsea utility man Geremi. "Hopefully we can persuade [Geremi] - if we get the opportunity - to join this football club and not the others who will be chasing him as well as us," he added. "It is a long way from done, but there is an interest there and hopefully we can progress it over the next few days."
Tottenham are on the verge of announcing they have signed striker Darren Bent from Charlton, according to reports on Thursday.
The BBC claims that Spurs and Charlton agreed a fee for the striker on Wednesday.
The England international rejected a move to West Ham two weeks ago despite the Hammers offering £17million for his services. According to media reports, the 23-year-old had set his heart on moving to White Hart Lane.
It is thought that Bent is willing to accept up to £20,000-a-week less in wages than was on offer to him at Upton Park to join Spurs.
Should his arrival at Tottenham be confirmed, it is bound to prompt speculation that Jermain Defoe - already third choice behind Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov - could leave the club.

If you exclude Liverpool and Tottenham, United have spent 3 million pounds less than all the other clubs combined!Lakitu said:I love my avatar, it's always sad to see Mourinho's sad face every time I post

Naw, we probably won't see it until an hour before kickoff. Here's one guess, though:Osorio said:Is the lineup out yet? I want to see what Bradley can make with such a young group of players.
However, in recent times Wenger's transfer policy has been to sign mainly foreign players. Why, you ask? Wenger has always been priced out of the market for the top class England players. Wayne Rooney, a player who Wenger admired went for a reported £30 million pounds, whereas Wenger found the world class Van Persie for around £2.75 million pounds, less than a tenth of Rooney's cost! Other examples would include £30 million pounds for Rio Ferdinand compared to £150,000 pounds for Kolo Toure, or even £1 million pounds for the prodigious Cesc Fabregas whilst Michael Carrick went for £18.6 million pounds.

That's not a bad lineup now that I look at it. Clark wasn't that great in the final and Twellman and Johnson have problems finishing but I think the lineup is good enough to give Argentina a game. Also, I'd give Guzan the start over Keller. I really didn't like his last performance and whileCornballer said:Naw, we probably won't see it until an hour before kickoff. Here's one guess, though:

Probably pretty close. There were pictures from training camp, and you can see some players were wearing the blue jersies (and thus would be projected as starters.)
