Whst's more shocking?

Chelsea conceding 2 goals.

Chelsea conceding 2 goals in the first half.

Chelsea conceding 2 goals at Stamford Bridge.

Birmingham scoring 2 goals against Chelsea.

Every team gets up for the first match. You just have to see what Birmingham is doing to Chelsea right now.

EDIT: By the way, I think Fulham will stay up... in 17th. Wigan, Derby, and Birmingham are going down for me.

I agree it'll happen, but it'd be a shame if only because Feilhaber's headed there...

And you're right about first matches XD

I think its good for Feilhaber because he will get better exposure in the PL. I think he will get picked up by a mid-table side next summer if Derby drop.

Johnson's dodgy, while Terry's injured and they haven't bought a right back they need to play Alex in central defence and Ben Haim right back.

Got good points for Fabregas and Van Persie but Chelsea leaking 2 goals has hurt me ole clean sheet bonus I was hoping for.

Just watching the highlights now. Forssell's goal could have easily been prevented. Birming ham had a free kick, one of the birmingham player flicked the ball back with his head and forsell headed it in. The birmingham player who got the first header shouldnt have been able to get to it, there were chelsea players surrounding him and one of them should have got a head to it. Forssell was left compleyely open. No one was marking, so you're asking for trouble by leaving a striker several yards away from goal. It just goes to show just how important terry is to their defence. Chelsea would have able to deal with that if he was playing.

Pizarro's goal could have been prevented too. Doyle, the birmingham goalie, got a hand to it and he could have stopped it from going in. It wasnt such a difficult shot to stop.

3-2 to chelsea now. Essien scored. Doyle should have been able to save that one too. He got a hand to it and although it was a strong shot he could have punched it away.

The good thing about it is that Ive got essien in my fantasy football team :D

Doyle is shit. If it weren't for him BC would be winning this game...possibly by 2 goals.

And thank fuck Arsenal managed to compensate for Mad Jens' stupefying start to the season. I was really surprised that Wenger didn't try to find a replacement for him...he's becoming quite a liability these days, at a time when Arsenal need solidity at the back. Hopefully he sorts himself out and minimises his craziness.

The game has been pretty dull since chelsea scored the third goal. Birming ham had a decent spell for a couple of minutes a while ago, but nothing happened unfortunately.

I've been impressed by Chelsea's forward play, though it's hard to know how much of that is down to Birmingham. We'll see in future games.

Their defence though...that's not down to Birmingham, and Johnson looks like a problem. It's an easy problem to solve, it's just...will they?

United's line up:

---------------Van Der Sar--------------

Brown---Ferdinand---Vidic---Silvestre

Ronaldo--Carrick---Scholes------Evra

------------Giggs-----Rooney-----------

Thanks for ruining Blackburn being the only team with no new players opening day United, inconsiderate bastards.

I know, why would they do such a thing? Now blackburn have nothing that makes them look special!

The stream I'm watching reckon Dabo and Forssell are playing for Reading. How did they even manage that? It's a Reading team with two Birmingham players, it's not like they just accidentally put up a Birmingham side.

Hopefully the Van Persie and Essien goals + Fabregas assist is enough to get me out the fantasy league cellar.

I think I'll be feeling good after today :D

Was anyone else impressed with Sagna today? I thought he played really well. Won alot of balls and moved it up the flanks nicely.

Giggs almost scored right now. However, Rooney's chance and Carrick's chance weren't that clear cut to be goals. I need them to score though because I predicted this would end 4-1.

I agree about Rooney's but Carrick's barely missed by a few inches and the keeper was nowhere near it....DAMN.... Rooney with the header... on the plus side we are attacking well and making tons of chances.

Yes but it's getting frustrating that there are so many chances with none of them hitting the net. Reading hasn't really challenged to score besides a few rogue corners.

United should be up, though Reading have protected their keeper well. You have to think sooner or later something will give though, with this sort of domination.

At this point I'm just glad Rooney isn't hurt, my heart was in my gut when I saw him limping. We need to come out and play the same way in the 2nd half eventually a goal will come.

Its good to see rooneys ok, or atleast fit enough to finsih the half. Je better not be injured, we're already short on strikers.

Its not the greatest first half. Reading have hardly had any of the ball and we're controlling possession. We've created some good chances, but nothing has gone in. The problem is that we've not tested the goalie. All of our best chances have been off target. The one time where the goalie did need to do something was when carrick crossed it to rooney and he had to come out and get the ball of rooney.

reading have been sitting back and they're doing the right thing. If they come up and try to attack us, then we could score on the counter. Its not the most pleasant way of playing, but they just need to keep getting in Uniteds way and stop them playing if they're to walk away with some points.

We need to step up the tempo a bit. The opportunties we create are too few and far between. Our play seems to be pretty relaxed and slow, so during the second half I expect everyone to step up a bit. Its not that we're playing badly, but we just need to convery more of that possession into a chance.

If one thing is clear from today's match and the Community Shield, it is the fact that Carrick seems a lot more comfortable in his role and appears to be a lot more willing to take shots from outside the box. That's a good thing because he showed Roma last season that he certainly has the ability to take such shots but he didn't really attempt much of those last season.

Anyway, with our kind of domination and play, a goal or two is almost inevitable.

Does anyone have any idea why Hargreaves and Anderson are not even on the subs bench?

Carricks probably been our bst player. He looks a lot more confident than before. That shot he had proves that he feels more confident and comfortable. Last season you wouldnt have expected carrick to do that, he rarely had long range shots.

Is Nani coming on? He's out on the pitch in his kit training at half time.

So either Rooney's injured, or he'll come on for Silvestre and push Evra to left back.

You are right he has been amazing today ( he just put a perfect ball thru to Giggs just now)

just got back home. Fuck me, I still can't believe that game and our finish. I'll post a detailed report in a bit with a couple of pictures (if they turned out ok).

yeah i just got back from Arsenal v Fulham too, great game and what an atmosphere at the end! oh and laughing at the people who left early forshame!!

Reading have learned from their naivety last year. I remember after Reading lost 4-0 away to Arsenal, one of their players saying he doesn't know why Arsenal don't do that week in week out...it's because other teams don't go to Arsenal and attack at will.

You can attack at will against 14 other teams in the Premiership, perhaps even a bit against the top 4 at home...but away to them this is exactly what they should be doing.
