Im so depressed about this. He changed position and worked so hard to try and adapt there. He did well. Everytime I see him play he plays well, works very hard, never gives up and fights like no one else but now he has suffered such a horrible injury. Its ironic that both him and heinze, who are two of the hardest working playerrs we have are suffering from long term injury. Smiths injury was the last thing we needed. Scholes is out, which means that Darren Fletcher will be blessed with a first team place.

That wanker could ruin our season. The only difference between Fletcher and bag of shit is the bag.

How long is Heinze out? Rest of season, am I right?

I have no idea why Ferguson went for TWO defenders during the January transfer window when he could have gone for one defender and one midfielder. Perhaps, he's developed a phobia of picking up midfielders after Kleberson, Djemba Djemba and Miller. After all, those three players along with a couple others were supposed to bring our team into the next decade and yet they flopped so miserably.

Barça 5 - Betis 1

Ready for Chelsea !
I saw the game and wow, Ronaldinho and Etoo.. spectacular :O Eventhough Etoo missed every opportunity they play each other great.

The game on wednesday will be very, very, very interesting. Hopefully Chelsea outplay Colchester today. We really need it.

Edit: Barca's defence wasnt very strong. We gotta use that. And Valdes can make his mistakes, we know that. Joaquins freekick for example.

As a fellow United supporter I join you in hoping and praying Alan makes a full recovery and comes back even stronger for us. Hes the perfect professional and you can bet he'll work his ass of to get back playing again.

Yep, I know. Anyways, that's my lineup for wednesday:

Ronaldinho - Etoo - Messi

Iniesta - Deco

Motta

Silvinho - Marquez - Puyol - Belletti

Wow, no goalkeeper. That's confidence.

I do wonder what team Chelsea will play today. Normally I'd expect a second string 11 for a match like this, but after the Middlesbrough defeat Mourinho might want to put out as much of the team that will face Barcelona as he can, to get their confidence back.

Then again, does he want to risk his stars before such a big game? Gallas and Terry are suspended anyway so that takes away any choices in defence as it is, but elsewhere we'll see.

I do care what happens for the rest of the seaosn, but I feel heartbroken about Smiths injury. Why couldnt it happen to Fletcher!?

Here is the latest on Smiths injury. His agent has said that its not career threatening. They'be got his ankle back in place and he is going to have surgery today.

Alan Smith's agent Alex Black has played down suggestions the Manchester United midfielder's career is under threat.

The 25-year-old suffered a horrific injury after coming on as a substitute during United's FA Cup fifth round exit at Liverpool on Saturday.

After blocking a John Arne Riise free kick, Smith landed awkwardly and dislocated his ankle, which in turn caused his leg to break.

He faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, while Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson commented the injury was 'one of the worst I've ever seen'.

But Smith's representative Black is confident that the former Leeds United ace will play again, although he is unsure when the England international will return.

"Certainly, from speaking to Alan, that's not been indicated to him at all (the injury being career threatening)," Black told Sky Sports News.

"He is a pretty tough character and is already talking about it. It is frustrating, but he will try and get back to fitness as soon as he can."

Smith has already had his ankle pushed back into place, while he is undergoing an operation on his broken leg on Sunday morning.

Black expanded on the injury situation and also conceded it will be around two months before the player can seriously commence his rehabilitation.

He added: "The latest situation is that everything went fairly well last night and they were able to put the ankle back in.

"They had the chance to X-ray and have a look at the break on the leg, which is being operated on this morning.

"It's hard to tell exactly how bad the damage will be to the ligaments on the ankle until it has all calmed down.

"The two injuries in themselves certainly aren't career threatening, but a combination of the two is a problem for the rehabilitation.

"He will be in a pot for six-to-eight weeks and won't be able to do a lot on rehab until after that when he will be starting on the road to recovery, hopefully.

"It looks like when he was landing, and put all the weight on his ankle, that's when the dislocation happened, and the force of that broke his leg. That's what I think happened."

Black revealed that Smith also wanted to pay tribute to the assistance he received from Liverpool and United staff, in addition to both clubs' fans.

He continued: "Even though he was a little bit delirious as he was coming off, he was able to recognise that not just Man United fans, but a lot of Liverpool fans, were giving him a round of applause.

"All the staff and various doctors have been fantastic and he wanted to say thank you to all those people."

Erika Johnson had to go to hospital because she got a mobile phone up her butt. After the doctor told had a look at her he said "well, that isnt the first time that you've had an eriksson up your arse" :lol

That's pretty cool...I was fearful that some of the Reds fans laughed him off the pitch due to the intense rivalry. Good for them.

Meanwhile Mourinho continues to be the best quote in all of sport. Here's what he had to say about Borough's first goal against them...

“How many mistakes for that goal?” he said.“For me, six. In one goal, six mistakes. The game started. (Eidur) Gudjohnsen had the ball at his feet and he only left the ball when he lost it. One.

“We get the throw-in. Gérémi takes it in our half inside the pitch. Two. (Michael) Essien accepts Gérémi’s mistake and dribbles with his back to the guy and loses the ball. Three. (Ricardo) Carvalho, instead of stepping up to press, stays back and (Fabio) Rochemback progresses. Four.

“(John) Terry is in a good position but instead of attacking the player, stands in front and gives him the space to change from foot to foot. Five. And then (Petr) Cech makes the last mistake. One goal, six mistakes.”

And here's what he say about Barca's yapping regarding Stamford's pitch conditions....

JOSÉ MOURINHO has raised the temperature ahead of next week’s Champions League meeting with Barcelona by describing Chelsea’s opponents as stupid. Players and officials of the Spanish club have accused Chelsea of deliberately allowing the Stamford Bridge pitch to deteriorate in order to hinder their flowing football, but Mourinho dismissed suggestions of a dirty tricks campaign.

Having been forced out of a coaching job at the Nou Camp in controversial circumstances eight years ago, Mourinho has no great love for Barcelona and his voice dripped with sarcasm as he considered their conspiracy theory.

“I don’t know if Barcelona are rattled and don’t want to know,” he said. “Only stupid people can think that a team like Chelsea, with the qualities Chelsea players have, can be happy to have this pitch.

“Barcelona can think what they want. We can analyse things in a way where we have no technical players, no skilful players. We have just the kind of players that kick the ball and run, (Arjen) Robben, (Damien) Duff, Shaun Wright-Phillips and (Frank) Lampard. We have no technical players and because we have no technical players we need a potato field.”

Mourinho also asked why Barcelona have suffered so many injuries if their own pitch is so good, a mischievous question given added relevance by the fact that Carles Puyol has picked up a knee problem. The Barcelona captain had an MRI scan yesterday that ruled him out of tonight’s league game against Real Betis and is doubtful for next week.

“Maybe you have to ask Barcelona why they’ve had so many knee injuries?” Mourinho said. “I think in the last two or three years it’s about ten knee injuries. They have a lot of problems. Maybe it’s because the pitch is too good.”

:lol Seriously, how can anyone not love this man?

Mourinho is doing the same he did last year...Heating the match. And I know he does this to release pressure on the players but come on...

Anyways, I just hope Ridjkaard prepares the match as well as he can...I still remember these two numbers: 3/18.

3 goals in 18 minutes !

We didn't deserve to win and we lost. And no Ronaldinho, Deco or Etoo can save you when the whole rear-line isn't focussed on the match. I have tons of confidence in Etoo, Ronaldinho and Messi. Even if Giuly/Larsson play I have faith they'll score.

I also have faith in the midfield. We have some of the best midfielders in the league and this considering Xavi is injured. Deco, Iniesta and Van Bommel will do whatever to recover, pass and control the match.

And I have faith in some of the rear line. People like Puyol (our John Terry) and Marquez. But that's all. Oleguer, Sylvinho, Belletti and Gio are not good deffenders. Both Sylvinho and Belletti are excelent offensive players but their defence lacks a lot. Oleguer is slow as hell and Gio, despite being better than Sylvinho at deffending, lacks speed.
We also have Gabri who is strong as hell but that will loose in any kind of course against Gudjonsen or Duff.

That said, I know that the barça defending line has weak points. I know this, Mourinho knows this and Ridjkard knows this. Every fucking team in the spanish league knows this and counter-attacks are the way to go to kill F.C. Barcelona.

But there is a problem. And that's the fact that both the attacking line and the midfielders are talented as hell. Some reporter called F.C. Barcelona a Goal-Machine. And I think that sums it. You have 5 players that can score in whatever moment, 5 talented scorers from different points of the field.

Ronaldinho surprises from the left, Messi surprises from the right. They won't succeed always but they will suffer fouls. And we have a talented foul launcher: Ronaldinho. Deco and Iniesta shoot very well from far away and they also read "the game" in a proper way. When they have the ball on their feet they can do whatever. And finally there is Eto'o which despite what you saw in the last match, when has the ball scores.

I think this sums up what Futbol Club Barcelona is right now and what makes so successful in the spanish league. I know you all think the Spanish league sucks right now but this doesn't change that F.C. Barcelona is miles away from the rest of the teams.

I don't have a strong opinion about any of the leagues. I've heard different arguments for England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France and Holland all being the strongest in Europe. I guess it all depends what you see as the ultimate strength...be it money, developing talent, defensive, midfield or attacking play, European success, or whatever. Ultimately any top team from these leagues can beat anyone in the world at any given time, so it really doesn't matter. Makes for nice forum banter though.

I love how Mourinho explains those 6 misstakes :lol I hope the players are reading that haha.

And Totti broke his foot today. Out for 2 months (or so) :(

Chelsea 3 - 1 Colchester United
Paulo Ferreira 37 Ricardo Carvalho 28 (og) (:lol why is he still playing?)
Joe Cole 79
Joe Cole 91

Not a good game, but Colhester played aggressively and tried to made things difficult for us. Joe Cole saves the day. Now I just hope Gallas and Makelele can play on wednesday, without them it will be very tough.

Horrific to see the damn foot move like that.

FA Cup draw:

Charlton v Middlesbrough

Aston Villa or Manchester City v Bolton or West Ham

Chelsea v Newcastle United

Birmingham v Liverpool

West Hams lucky draw against Bolton could land them with 4 games in 7 days, if they beat Marseille on thursday they'll play Newcastle saturday, West Ham tuesday, next Uefa cup opponent thursday then West Ham again (league) on Saturday.

So things are looking good for getting at least 1 result out of Bolton this season.

As for the cup, Chelsea vs Newcastle is a good draw, Shearer really wants this cup, if they can knock Chelsea out the whole competition will be blown wide open.

Just read that his ligaments are busted and that the doctors are worried there might be nerve damage. The doctor in charge said "his participation in the WC will depend on his morale". Great, our best playmaker could be out.

Yep...now you know how I felt when I saw Arsenal drawing Bolton. :lol

It's a big match for both teams...Newcastle knows they can beat them in this tourney, and Chelsea can't afford to take them lightly. Hell Chelsea might be out of the Champions League by then, so they're gonna want this game badly.

True, Shinobi. The only comforting is that we got the game at Stamford Bridge.

Man, I want to got to sleeep!!! Cause tomorrow is CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DAY!

Real Madrid - Arsenal
Bayern München - Milan

Caaaaaaant wait!!! :D

And the highligt of the week is of course Chelsea - Barcelona on wednesday. Good times.

Sorry, just named the super big games. Ajax-Inter, PSV-Lyon, Benfica-Liverpool is very interesting as well. I think Rangers have a chance, anything can happen in these games :)

Finally, Manyoo fans get some good news. Heinze could be back in full training in a months time!

Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze could be back in full training next month, according to Argentina's team doctor.

The Red Devils star sustained knee ligament damage in September against Villarreal and manager Sir Alex Ferguson has already admitted that he cannot see him being fit for the World Cup finals in June - let alone the remainder of this season.

However, Argentine medic Dr Donato Villani feels that Heinze will be back amongst United's first team this time next month.

"In a month, Gabriel will be able to join his squad," Villani told Ole.

"He can then train on a par with his team-mates.

"This does not mean that he is going to play.

"At that moment it will be evaluated as to whether it is or not he can try and play."

Heinze himself conceded late last year that he would struggle to make the finals - but should Villani be right, then he could have every chance of claiming his spot in the Argentinian squad.

Bad news for Evra :P

Everybody is talking about the game tomorrow, even the referee gave his view on the game, heh. And Del Horno slammed Eto'o. This game got it all. Spicy.

Im guessing he said "hopefully this will be a clean game because i dont want to send any Chelski players off"

Have two teams from different leagues ever displayed this much disdain for each other? I don't think Chelsea have gotten into it this much with anyone from the EPL in the last few years...even their squabbles with Liverpool seem petty in comparison.

It's funnier then hell though...I hope they keep it up. :lol

As for the Gunners (who probably have more injured players then healthy bodies), to show just how crazy the situation is, Theo Walcott is on the bench and might get called on as a substitute. A 16 year old kid, possibly making his EPL club debut, in a Champions League clash at Real Madrid...nice At that age I was trying to make my high school team. :lol

Lets all predict the scores of tonights games.

Real Madrid 3 - 1 Arsenal

Benfica 0 - 0 Liverpool

Bayern Munich 2 - 1 Ac Milan

PSV 1 - 1 Lyon

I dont think that is going to happen. Arsenal are missing so many players and the senior players are not performing as well as they should be. Its going to be Henry vs Real madrid, who at the moment are playing some very good football, especially Robinho.

ourumov said:
Hope Arsenal wins this night. Come on Henry !
Haha that is so predictable coming from a Barca-fan ;)

My tips.

Real Madrid - Arsenal 2-0

Benfica - Liverpool 0-0

Bayern Munich -AC Milan 1-1

PSV - Lyon 0-0

Very few goals :O I hope I'm wrong!

Bad news for you Solid. Gallas is injured!

http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?...d=&lid=2&title=Blues+blow+ahead+of+Barca+test

Chelsea have suffered a major blow on the eve of their clash with Barcelona, following confirmation that defender William Gallas has been ruled out of the match with a hamstring injury.

The loss of Gallas, who has been an integral part of The Blues' backline this season, will come as a major blow to Jose Mourinho's preparations.

With Chelsea's previously impregnable rearguard showing signs of creaking in recent weeks, Mourinho had hoped to have a full complement of defenders to combat Ronaldinho et al on Wednesday.

That will not now be the case although Mourinho is likely to be able to call on midfield lynch pin Claude Makelele once again for the visit of Frank Rijkaard's side.

Chelsea will now hope Gallas can recover in time for the second leg at Camp Nou in two weeks' time.

Real Madrid v Arsenal is going to be interesting, especially who gets through in the end. 6months ago I would have said Arsenal EASILY but now I'm not so sure.

Bayern Milan should be good as well, tough choice what to watch 2nite :P

Then I'm reminded that we didn't get through in a group with Lille, Benfica and Villareal. Fucking hell

Ballack once again proves that Bayern is too small for a player like him. I really hope he doesn't sign for RM like the press said back in the fall. Awesome goal btw.
Anyways in the last few minutes I got the feeling Milan was increassing a lot the pressure, this second part might be interesting.

Awesome Arsneal. Real... what a let down. Bunch of has-been.

England-Spain 1-0

You too can do it, Chelsea :D

And Benfica won! WOOT!

Galacticos my arse. Against what should be, for all intents and purposes, a demoralised and struggling Arsenal, with key defenders out through injury, they were shambolic. Seriously a Juventus or Chelsea would take them to the cleaners based on tonights performance.

The defending was just...unbelievably bad. They basically had no right back as Cicinho hung around the Arsenal goal for most of the match doing fuck knows what...oh yeah, fouling.
