If they get Figo watch out! Looks like they are trying to sign him.mutsu said:Liverpool all the way man.
Look at the players we've bought in, our team has improved ten-fold over last seasons. We managed to win Champions League last season, so sky's the limit this season for us!

Yeah Baptista's staying in Spain no doubt about that ( eek Real getting Robinho and Baptista and they prolly still won't win La Liga or Champions league :lol ) And I agree about the Players looking bad I was watching the higlights and saw Rudd taking cheapshots and generally looking down...I like Rudd and all but maybe it's time for Saha and Smith to take over in the front ( preferably Saha since Smith is moving to Midfield) I mean Rooney alone is a goal scoring machine, and Rudd is still trying to make up for last year and is prolly going to be more bad than good ( tho I do hope he pulls it together soon). Who is mrpingu?Mama Smurf said:mrpingu's going to KILL you.
Pfff, your squad's a bit better, but aside from Crouch and Reina, I can't see them breaking into the first team. Well, maybe Zenden, but I don't think he's any better than Riise.
I said in the old thread that I thought Man Utd might just sneak second place from Arsenal this year, but now I'm not so sure. I'm not unsure enough to tip Arsenal ahead yet (Baptista's going to Real btw if that news hasn't been posted), but I've seen a couple of Man Utd's games on this Asia tour and the players look absolutely miserable. Not their play, the expressions. I don't know if it's really hot out there and it's too tiring or what, but damn did they look glum.
You look at Chelsea's team spirit and how positive everything is, then you look at Man U...well, what can you say? The Glazer takeover, some fans abandoning ship, Ferdinand refusing to sign a £100,000 a week contract and being booed by fans each game, Ferdinand and Van Nistelrooy falling out on the pitch, Keane and Ferguson falling out over the Asian tour...these are all terrible signs! So until that mess is sorted out, I don't think they have a hope in hell of catching Chelsea, and assuming Arsenal's team spirit hasn't been broken by Vieira leaving, it'll be hard to keep up with them too.

Duff had a really sweet goal. D.C. scored off a corner. Mourninho was in midseason form yelling at the Jarosic (sp?) guy who looked pretty bad all night.

Shinobi said:As far as the EPL goes, there's nothing to argue...if Chelsea doesn't win it, they should be embarassed and ashamed of themselves. As an Arsenal fan I haven't expected much until the new grounds are ready anyhow, which is what made the 2004 season such a pleasant surprise. So second would be fine with me, along with another FA Cup. But more then anything, I wanna see some progress made in the Champions League. Alas, I think their best chance to advance in that tournament with the current core has already past them by.
What does concern me is the dodgy formations, Rooney has to start playing off Ruud no more of this left wing bollocks.
Good job the transfer window's still open eh!

Soccernet.com said:Owen in limbo: Robinho signed
Real Madrid have announced that Robinho will join the Spanish giants from Santos on a five-year deal on August 25 in a move which could have serious implications for Michael Owen.
Real, who have been chasing the 21-year-old since the winter transfer window, confirmed the impending arrival of the player with a statement on the club's official website.
'Real Madrid and Santos have arrived at an agreement for the transfer of Robinho,' it said.
Robinho's arrival will bring the number of Brazilian strikers at a club coached by a Brazilian, Wanderley Luxemburgo, to three.
A £17million move for Sevilla's Julio Baptista was completed last night and Ronaldo is already in place.
Meanwhile, Madrid favourite and Spain international Raul is thought to be untouchable.
Owen, who did not secure a starting place following his move to the Bernabeu last summer, has been linked with a return to England with Arsenal and Newcastle said to be among those interested.
Neither Santos not Real Madrid have confirmed a fee, although it is thought Robinho - one of the hottest properties in world football - will cost Madrid around £20million.
Robinho was strongly linked with Premiership champions Chelsea earlier in the summer, but the player clearly indicated his preferred destination after starring for Brazil in their successful Confederations Cup campaign in June.
'My desire is to play for Real Madrid,' he said after Brazil's 4-1 win over Argentina in the final of the competition.
'I want to leave Santos and I want to resolve this quickly. I don't have the mind to play here again.
'Real Madrid are the best club in the world. I will only leave to go to Madrid.'
Real came close to securing Robinho's signature late last year, but the deal was postponed when his mother was kidnapped on November 6. She was later released on December 17.
However, when Luxemburgo - who steered Santos to the 2004 Brazilian championship - took over as coach of Real Madrid on December 30, speculation mounted that Robinho would move to Spain.
The move failed to materialise in January, with Robinho insisting that he was happy at Santos.
However the appeal of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world has ultimately proved too much to resist.
Last season Real finished second to champions Barcelona in the Primera Liga, and finished the campaign without a trophy for the second season in a row.

Premiership clubs on Owen alert
Real seal Robinho deal
Arsenal and Manchester United may move for Michael Owen after his Real Madrid future was threatened by the signings of Robinho and Julio Baptista.
Owen looks to be on his way out of The Bernabeu after only one season after the Spanish giants confirmed deals for Robinho and Baptista.
The 25-year-old England striker had a successful first season and Real, but spent many games on the bench.
And he is unlikely to accept a further drop down the pecking order.
Arsenal may be tempted to move for Owen after seeing Baptista taken from under their noses by Real after coming close to sealing a £14m move.
And United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a long-time admirer of Owen and has been linked with him throughout the summer.
Liverpool may also be alerted by the possible availability of their former striker, although it is understood manager Rafael Benitez does not want Owen and has just spent £7m on Peter Crouch.
Owen has stressed he is happy at Real, but he may now accept he has to move with the World Cup looming in Germany next summer.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has claimed that Arsenal and Manchester United want to beat Chelsea to the signature of midfielder Michael Essien.
"They shouldn't take French clubs for fools," said Aulas.
"Michael is worth between 45 and 50 million euros (£31-35million) and because time has been wasted if we are to recruit if Essien leaves us now, I estimate that our player will leave for 45 million euros, while bringing in one Chelsea player.
Nope. well chelsea want him and essien wants to go to chelsea. he even boycotted training for a week or so just to be transfered but aulas didnt give a shit :lolElyrionX said:Wait, I thought Essien has already moved to Chelsea?
