Official NFL Thread Week 2 - Saints are America's Team!

I have no idea what this Browns/Steelers bit is about but would it help if I said fuck the Steelers?

Personally, I don't agree with the whole "Browns fans don't have the right to brag about their team" stance. Whether or not a team is any good is typically out of the fans control. I think any fan has the right to brag about their team. If a team isn't doing well, it doesn't mean the fans are suddenly muted.

You are FMT's new hero.

What are the Roethlisberger haters going to come up with after this week?

It is so nice to actually have a good QB in Pittsburgh. Watch some of the plays Big Ben makes and it is obvious he is already one of the better QBs in the NFL in his second season.

I have some worries on our defense this year. They are making some sloppy plays and missing too many tackles. I don't care though, I want the defense to peak in the playoffs this year and not midseason like last year.

I can't decide which I loved more, watching the Steelers win and Big Ben having another big day or seeing the Pats lose (especially nice with the heavy play of the new Visa Pats commercial).

96, 97, and 98, the Stains three greatest years.

Anyway, I think the point is why bring up the rivalry at this point in this thread during a week in which they didn't even play each other?

I know, but listen. Steve Tasker says the Steelers never miss on the first tackle, ever! So it's all good.

Really, the D the first two weeks has been giving up a lil more yards, but the sacks and turnovers still seem to come at the right time. Tricky Dick had some funky blitzes this week. Things will most likely tighten up as the season progresses.

:lol

This year I could care less about the regular season. I just want us to get a bye and peak around playoff time.

The Lions make me want to gouge my god damn eyes out. That was horrible. I can't believe Harrington was outbested by a QB in his 2nd pro game. How did Pollard and Bryant gets hurt?! This is just too much. Somebody better get fired at the end of the year, after we go 1-15...

Tom Brady doesn't get sacked. Pfft.

Tom Brady doesn't make mistakes. Pfft.

I will say this about today's game, I've never seen the Patriots drop so many balls.

edit--this game may be the game where the Pats were exposed. Our defense was that dominant, save for the blown coverage at the beginning :lol

I've never seen their O-Line have so many false starts...they had like what, 7-8 false starts?

edit: 2nd game in a row where we've held a star RB to less than 70 yards.

Yep, it sounded loud as hell in there too, wish I could have gone. The PSL owners stayed and made some noise, of course when the team makes that many plays it's easy to get excited. It was a big change from last week when only the upper bowl makes noise, when it's like that, our home field advantage is non-existant. If Jake hadn't played like ass all day, this could have been a 41-7 type of ass-kicking. I'll be the first to say (anti-duce venom here) that we were the benefit of a lot of calls this week, and I was the first to cry last week when we got such terrible breaks against the Aints. It's all part of the game, and this particular one wasn't even as close as the score indicated.

edit---Correction, first game in a row where we've held a star running back under 40 yards ;)

Yeah i didnt see any pushing off on that Catch by moss. Should have been a TD

Neither did I from the camera angles, but Surtain was calling for it right off the bat and I was surprised to see Moss not really argue at all.

Lots of big calls going KC's way.

What do you think Moss is thinking right now? I can't tell if he's sad or pissed off.

One more thing about the Pats. It is only week 2, but their defense has looked extremely average over the first two weeks. I hope this keeps up and that Tom Brady gets injured for life next week in Pittsburgh.

hahahaha

That's the spirit!
The Steelers will own the Pats! Just you wait!

Dont forget about The Curse. The last 4 teams to knock the eagles out of the playoffs went 7-9 the following year.

All those teams are from the NFC though which sucks dick to begin with so that curse doesn't count much for me. I mean isn't 7-9 good enough for a wild card in the NFC or at least good enough to win the NFC North? If the Pats go 7-9 though I will become a Eagles fan and take your crazy theories seriously.

....Falcons lose, which sucks...i hope Vick's leg isn't something serious...it's his arm i'm more worried about...he looked decent but man if today didn't prove how depandant we are in the running game, nothing will.

On a lighter note, i'm doing great so far in fantasy this week in all my leauges...which makes me smile :)

Its not my theory, its just a fact that every team that has knocked Mcnabb out of the playoffs has gone 7-9 the following year.

I wasn't talking about the so called curse, I am talking about the other batshit insane stuff you talk about when it comes to the Eagles or Panthers (though I understand the bitterness and it shows when I talk about that ball sucker Tom Brady).
