I wouldn't get too arrogant here. With all the ways the Raiders gave you the game, if you didn't pull it out, you didn't deserve to even be there. That PI call on Moss was a joke anyways, not to mention the stupid penalties. I know that a wins a win, but I doubt the Chiefs will get the season sweep on the Raiders... and I don't really even like the Raiders. I think they're way overrated this year.loxy said:

Cerebral Palsy said:Give the Raiders that 4 extra points on that blown PI call. THEY STILL LOSE! The defense held and that is all that matters!
Were you watching the same game as me? I'm a very neutral party here, too, and I saw him with his hands in position to push but never actually pushing. The DB just never turned to look for the ball and only played Moss by his body movements. Are we talking about the one that DID get called or the TD play that counted?Nameless said:As a neutral party, most othe WRs in the leauge would have gotten flagged for offensive pass interference on that touch down play where he pushed off(against the guys back at that) downshifted, and then made the catch.

J2Cool said:Lol, ready for week 2 are we? Anyway, I'm just looking for the Bears to put up a better offensive effort. Against the Lions D, it should be a little easier than Redskins. Score 17 points or more and I'll be at least a little satisfied but I'd love a win. Our defense should be able to handle the Lions, and give em a shock coming off Green Bay. Still, Orton needs to loosen up this week and the offense needs to gain a rythm.
whytemkye said:Keep dreaming... Kyle Orton is gonna be chewed up and spit out by a secondary that is twice the secondary that Washington had. If he couldn't score a touchdown last weekend, it's gonna be even worse this weekend... unless they get the run game going, which, it seems, is quite pourous in Detroit.
Lions win, go 2-0. It'll probably be close, but it shouldn't be.
Kruza said:Finally... some common sense is posted among all the hilarious stuff I've read from delusional Bears fans rampaging this thread. Only thing I have to disagree with here is that the Lions running game is better than you give credit for. And our run defense on the edges has been a concern, but if one of the best RBs in the league in Ahman Green couldn't run outside with much success, what makes anyone think Thomas Jones/Adrian Peterson or Cedric Benson could do better?

J2Cool said:How bout an offensive line that doesn't include a 7th round rookie. Green Bay is in shambles. The Bears are a lot more well rounded team than GB. The defense will keep us in most games, and Orton now has a game under his belt now. I'm looking to see some rythm and some good plays made by him Sunday. As far as Benson, he probably won't run much but they'll see what he can do. 8-10 carries probably. Thomas Jones should get 15 or so. It's gonna be all about creating a few drives Sunday and grabbing yards. I wouldn't expect the same performance as last Sunday. They'll definitely get more than a TD. Like I said, I'm looking at 17 pts plus.
As far as the Lions, you should plan for a lot more pressure on Joey Harrington than you got last week. If the Bears shut down the running game, which is very possible, you got guys like Mike Brown, Lance Briggs, and Urlacher who can give Joey a lot of problems in coverage and blitz schemes. It's certainly gonna be no walk in the park.
The Niners players who talked smack or Fred Smoot?![]()
He barely touched him. It's just the Shaq syndrome where the ref will call stuff on the big guy, but not vice versa. If there's a struggle, the big guy gets called on it.Ninja Scooter said:yeah he didn't even really push.

And my rebuttal back early in page 2...
Did we run? Check. Guess an O-line does do some things. 17 plus? Check. And did Joey get a lot more pressure than last week?? Ooooh yeah. Let's see how my guys I mentioned impacted the game with coverage and blitz schemes... Urlacher 7 tackles, 2 sacks. Caused 1 interception. Briggs, 5 tackles, 2 assisted, and 1 beautiful interception. Mike Brown? Interception returned for a touchdown and some brutal hits. And it certainly wasn't a walk in the park. Looking like the only dreaming, delusional fans this past week were Lions fans to me. :lol :lol :lol

I did see a lot of short lobs to Jordan whenever anybody got anywhere near him, but that's because he's scared to fumble. He's built a reputation with that and he can't shake it. On the other hand, you have a game like game 1 where he threw exclusively to Moss. At least this time, we got more Porter looks and vital receptions. I know Turner and Collins know that Moss opens up the field for them.methodman said:I was actually at the SF giants game today. Fucking amazing game. Having a player like Barry Bonds on your team is so amazing, he is just so fucking good. You should've seen the crowd around me, I was sitting in the left field 2nd row (really good seats) and the people around me where dodger fans. When Barry came up in the 8th, they were like man he is so overrated and talkin alll kinds of shit, and when he hits the homer it was the funniest shit ever, we didnt even have to say anything to those bitches.
I saw most of the niners game before I left (I live in San Jose -45 minutes away, but on football/baseballl sundays usually 1:30), and it was embarrasing. It just seemed like Philly played with the potential that we all knew they had. Niners should bounce back next week though, I think philly was playing with a passion they usually don't have (after losing to atlanta, it seems like it was obvious they'd bounce back and win this one).
The Raiders game was pretty bad too. Sometimes you wish Kerry Collins wouldn't pussy out, and try passing the short pass to lamont jordan when you got two receivers like randy moss and jerry porter (a potential number 1 in plenty of teams). Even though lamont dropped like 3, and one where he could've gotten like 20+ yards, The raiders just made too many mistakes to win.
P.S. Why didn't more teams go for Randy Moss? I don't remember the excuses the teams used. It's hard to judge who's better: him or T.O, and that's a good place to be.

Ravens quarterback Kyle Boller should go in a room, turn out the lights, break out a hammer and smack the heck out of his turf toe, and call it a season.
Backup quarterback Kordell Stewart has to be troubled, too. A week ago, he was sitting on the couch hoping to get back in the league. Now, he is one snap away from losing his life. It might be time to retire.
