No way. We went two games with Tommy Maddox and lost two games against teams we would have easily beat with anyone else and yet we will still made the playoffs and won the Superbowl.ColdBlooded33 said:So looks like he is out for week 2, as well.
Its all over steelers fans. Enjoy being 0-0 while it lasts!
if it was just charlie batch at QB it wouldn't be a problem, cuz his clone Heinz Ward would still be able to take over and carry the team. But now you're in a situation where you've got Charlie Batch as the best athlete on the field at any given time, and that doesn't work out for anyone. The guy can play QB, no doubt-- I've watched him since he was at Eastern Michigan and then with the Lions. He's not gonna lose any games for you, but he's certainly not going to win any for you either.bionic77 said:No way. 0-2 and maybe 0-3 is starting to look more likely but you can't count the Steelers out unless we get even more bad luck this year. That is highly possible, but that could happen to anyone.
And Batch is no Tommy Maddox, but unless we are playing Green Bay every week it is going to be tough for him to score 20+ points against the elite teams in the NFL. I am hoping the Dolphins get some of our bad luck (I am sure Brady's evil touch will infect every team in the AFC East) and we scrape out a win.
And even if everything goes wrong and we miss the playoffs, well at least I can fire up the Superbowl DVD from last year.![]()

Keep telling yourself that.Actually, I'm pretty thrilled at the amount of people who are just hoping, praying, that the Steelers fold up shop and go home. It means you've arrived as a team when the hater line forms.

Our Oline sucks too much for us to get that far.

3. Tampa Bay, 8-8: I've raised this point a couple of times this summer: It scares me that five defensive starters -- Simeon Rice, Greg Spires, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, Brian Kelly -- are past their 30th birthdays. None was hurt last year. What are the chances that will happen again? And if the injury bug does bite, who's going to rush the passer, for instance, if the 32-year-old Rice goes down?
1. San Francisco, 13-3: Alex Smith clearly has what it takes to lead the 49ers to the promise land. The question is when. The answer? Now.

That would be awesome if Ben was ready for Jacksonville. Though that is not the best team to come back from an operation considering how good their Dline is.Spectral Glider said:And, at the other end of doom and gloom, we have:

But, the real positive in there is that it sounds like Ward will be ready to go this week.

I quoted that because all wounds never heal to their original strength. But 6 weeks is when it has healed all that you can expect or hope for. In plain english, it's the time when it is as good as it gets. So, if they rush him, even if they do it with a scope, he's at risk for hernias and further surgery. So it makes sense that they are being vague about his return date. They probably don't want to accept that he needs about 6 weeks to recover, even if they did it laparoscopically.
Seriously, with any bony injury, they throw out specific weeks (12 months, 6 weeks). It doesn't sound good that they are taking it week by week. After seeing McNabb suffer through a 'sports hernia', a real incisional hernia could **** up Toothless Ben for the year.
As an aside, what would be funny is if the Madden Curse is reversed and Seattle does well and the Steelers end up 6-10.

For shame, DMzcabvnbzvnaf, how dare you pick the Texans? You allegedly know something about football? Explain yourself.
