OFFICIAL: Starfield and Redfall delayed to 2023

Not surprising, its Bugthesda. Under Microsoft now they must have some new QA stuff going on. They can't release games how they normally would. This is a good sign.
 
Well, this is certainly a depressing letdown. I figured Redfall would get delayed and I really didn't care much anyway. Never in a million years did I think Starfield would also get pushed to next year.

Yes, I have a backlog and fuck my backlog, it most assuredly is NOT what I anticipated playing this fall/winter. I had visions of months of awesome gameplay with BotW2 and Starfield. First BotW2 got pushed and now Starfield.

FMS will probably come out this year as the ONLY Xbox big game and I have far less than zero interest in it. I admit I was surprised to find I loved FH5, but racing around a track is boring as hell to me.

I don't see Xbox repeating publisher of the year for 2022.

Phil Spencer said he'd recently been around the studios looking at stuff for the showcase and now these two games are delayed, I wonder who actually took the decision.
 
As a green rat this upsets me greatly. I need Phil to get out the war-chest and pay off some third party day one game pass deals to satiate my hunger.

Power your dreams…….next year. What a shitshow, seriously glad as I was about to bite on a Series X soon. I'll just wait until there are some exclusives stacked up in 2025 and pick one up cheap.

It's not even that, I was 100% convinced it would be this year because they kept reiterating the release date even on the latest Starfield diary video, idk why you would do that if you think it's not gonna be finished in time.

Yeah it's definitely dodgy, particularly waiting so late in the case of Redfall, and keeping the November date for Starfield up until a few weeks ago. People who criticised Sony for saying GoW 2021 should have the same energy here.

Hopefully it means a finished product on release.

Nintendo doesn't really have this issue. Sony doesn't really have this issue. Majority of the big 3P publishers don't have this issue. This specific issue of promising things and not delivering on what was promised (in this case, hard-set release dates). This is a unique issue and Microsoft are one of the few companies who continuously suffer from it.

Maybe for some; they're getting the side-eye from me unless that statement is a gameplay video or Hellblade II for Fall 🤣

Must be running on a lot of faith now Microsoft. They best start delivering games soon, there's only so much blind faith you can go on. Same story for years now.

So what do Microsoft have for the rest of the year that is comparable in scale, or are we expecting another muted year? Is the next Forza coming out?
 
Getting rid of my XSX. Already feeling like the Xbox One generation to me. They can win me back potentially when things start hitting (like ... Starfield?), but they need a lot of good exclusive games at this point to do so. Not just one.

Also I am 100% shocked. I thought for sure the date was a lock and argued that several times on this board. I've had it at this point.
 
They better deliver on their Xbox showcase and have some surprises for this year.

Also we probably can kiss FFXVI and GoW R 2022 goodbye.

5 years? You are being too kind to then. That is why I have such a disconect with Xbox fans. I was already frustrated by their lack of quality games as a 360 owner since the early Kinect days if not earlier.

As a short term Xbox fan: These mfers can't keep having year long droughts like this. This showcase better be HUGE. I want gameplay and release dates for the announced games. No more waiting. GIVE US THE GOODS.

As a long term PS fan: I want MS to get their shit together for the sake of competition. I don't want Sony to have another full generation of unbridled W's. I don't want Sony to have that PS3 hubris again. This is the main reason I want MS to get their shit together.
