I wonder how many units they have slated for Singapore. Maybe 20.

my guess is if you get somewhere AT LEAST 3 hours early, you should get a system. 4-5 hours to be safe... still sounds like a lot but considering you will likely have to wait in line for over a day (24 freaking hours) for a PS3, it's not that bad.-james- said:I called around last night trying to dig up some numbers on how many launch units stores were getting, as expected most of them would not say except for walmart who claimed that they were getting 20. When I talked to Target, I mentioned that walmart was getting 20, and they said we are getting way more than that but couldnt give out the number. Looks like im going to head over a few hours before they open and get a spot in line.

eh... this past sunday anyone who got there an hour early missed the pre-order (actually an hour and a half early). and that was for a relatively unadvertised pre-order. I would be really surprised if people got to stores only an hour early and got a system. not shocked mind you, but pretty surprised.Fifty said:You could probably start lining up an hour before it goes on sale and get one. Yes, you are crazy. You're spending over 24 hours lining up for it? I hope that was a typo and you meant Saturday night.

People line-up and starting at 10pm they will give out "tickets" which will let you come back at 12:01 to buy your Wii. That way you don't have to wait till midnight.
I'll probably go around 8-9pm and check out the line, if it's short like I'm thinking it will be, I'll stick around and get a ticket.

I just want my damn Wii. I have a feeling I'm going to feel stupid when a bunch of people buy it no problem midday Sunday, but I'm not messing around
Gigglepoo said:Does anyone know which games use the Sensor Bar and which do not? If it's only for communicating how far the Wiimote is from the TV, it doesn't seem like most games will use it. For instance, I can't imagine Zelda will use that feature. But other games I'm not so sure. Do the mini games in Monkey Ball use that? Or Trauma Center? I would guess that Red Steel doesn't, but I have no idea if Rabbits will. Is there a comprehensive list?
I'm curious becuase I will be taking my Wii to my friends houses quite often. The system is so small I can practically fit it in my pocket. But it will be a slight (ever so slight) hassle to take the Sensor Bar as well.

gamergirly said:As if. At least if the midnight launch fails, you still have a chance on Sunday. Those people are finished if they cant get one that one time midday Sunday

"waggling" has nothing to do with it. zelda uses it for aiming. basically every game that uses the wiimote as a pointer needs the sensor bar.gamergirly said:Zelda definitely uses the sensor bar as you waggle for the win

Thanks for the prompt response guys. Looks like I need the SB for everything except Excite Truck. Hope it isn't too much of a hassle bringing this thing around. I'm taking it to people who don't play games normally. I'm quite excited for Thanksgiving because of this. I'm curious to see just how easy it is to pick up and play, and if people who don't normally play games will have fun with it.
jarosh said:the sensor bar is actually pretty small. someone have a pic? i can't find one right now
Those hook in through the GCN controller port, so I don't imagine there's any problem.borghe said:the only BC issues I would imagine exist are the GBP, networking on the games that support it, and possibly connectivity enabled games (Zelda FS? FFCC?) Everything else should work fine, even maybe the connectivity games..
Because it's a wireless, point sensing, motion sensing, rumbling, audio controller. And of course controllers make the sellers good money.gamergirly said:Why the heck is the controller so expensive??
